Gutter survey in Park Farm
We survey gutters and rainwater systems in Park Farm and right across London and South East England. On the day, we inspect whatever is safely visible from ground level, windows, the roof space and the roof where it’s safe. Time on site typically takes an hour or two for most homes, and longer where there are parapet, valley or box gutters to follow. Afterwards, you get a written report with photos and recommendations. If you are worried about fascia boards damaged by overflowing water and hoppers and outlets full of debris, we can find out what’s behind it.
In a smaller place like Park Farm, homes range from older cottages to bungalows and newer houses. Older roofs can have slate, clay tiles or other traditional coverings, while many later ones have concrete tiles. Chimneys, valleys and gutters on older homes frequently need the most attention. Nails and battens under older coverings frequently give out before the slates or tiles themselves.
We keep jargon out of it: where something needs attention, it says so plainly, along with how urgent it is.

Park Farm homes and their roofs
Handmade clay tiles, including Kent peg tiles hung on pegs through two holes, are typical of older Kent buildings. Kent’s older buildings take in oast houses and timber-framed Wealden hall houses as well. Whichever you have, the details that tend to fail before the covering itself get the closest look. Godinton House, about 3.1 miles north-west, is one of the historic houses in the wider area around Park Farm. On older houses around here, roofs often carry the marks of earlier repairs, from replaced slates to new lead.
Take a building like Kingsnorth Church of England Primary School: large buildings have long gutter runs and big roofs that need checking like any other. If you let a flat or house near Ashford International station, a roof report helps you deal with small faults before they turn into a call from a tenant.
Park Farm is about 1 mile south of Ashford, in Kent. We cover Park Farm and the rest of Kent, as part of our work across London and South East England. Our Kent coverage includes Park Farm. We also survey roofs in Canterbury.

Park Farm questions
Do you cover smaller places like Park Farm?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. We work right across London and South East England. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.
Does a conservation area affect roof work in Park Farm?
You can check whether a building is listed on Historic England’s list, and your council can tell you if it is in a conservation area. If a home is listed, changes that affect its special interest need listed building consent, and in a conservation area re-roofing in different materials may need permission.
How long does a gutter survey take?
For a house, expect about 1–2 hours on site, and longer for larger or complex roofs.
Do you survey underground drains?
No, we do not carry out CCTV drain surveys. The survey covers gutters, outlets, hoppers, downpipes and overflows and flags signs of a drain problem.
What will the report tell me?
You get our findings in writing, part by part, with photos. The most urgent items are made clear.
How experienced are you?
We have more than 20 years’ experience and have carried out more than 5,000 surveys across London and the South East.
Does the report include photos?
Yes, every report has them. Pictures sit next to the findings they show, so you can see what we mean.
Why it’s worth a survey now in Park Farm
Clearing gutters removes the debris but it won’t explain why water keeps spilling over. We also check the falls, joints, brackets, outlets and downpipes to show whether something else is wrong. Around Park Farm, a leak in an older house can soak into timbers and plaster, and that’s a much bigger job than the original defect.
Thermal imaging and drone inspection (where applicable) come with the Premium Survey, which starts from £400, including VAT. We can help you choose the package that fits what you’d like to know.

Can I check my roof myself?
Inside, the loft is a good place to look, with care. Take a torch and only step on boards or joists, and look for staining, damp timber or daylight coming through.
Your own check is a good start, but it is not a survey. From ground level, valleys, flashings and the backs of chimneys are often out of sight, and those are details a survey looks at closely.
Honest limits
We only report everything that’s safely in view on the day, so there are some things a survey cannot cover:
- Damage hidden inside walls or behind boards
- Gutters out of sight from each safe vantage point
- The inside of a downpipe along its whole length
If in doubt, ring 07833 053749 or email us and we’ll suggest the right survey. What our survey covers.

What we’re asked to look at in Park Farm
Moss grows on many tiled and slate roofs, and rain washes it down into the gutters. Mixed with grit from the roof, it settles as silt that slows the flow and lets weeds take root.
It is worth booking a survey if you’ve seen:
- Water spilling over the gutter edge
- Leaks at the gutter joints
- Overflowing valley or parapet gutters
- Brackets that have dropped or snapped
Take an older house close to Church of St Michael: its roof may have old fixings, lead flashings and chimneys that need a closer look.
Questions to ask before booking
- How long they’ve been surveying roofs
- Do they have a CAA Flyer ID and Operator ID for drone work?
- Whether the loft is part of the inspection
- What’s outside the scope of the survey
