Surveys for landlords and agents in Egypt
Landlords, agents and building managers in Egypt and across Slough can book any of our surveys. To discuss a property or a block, call 07833 053749 or drop us an email.
Roof problems in a rented home affect tenants as well as the building. A survey shows what needs attention, so you can plan the work with less disruption.
Roof surveys for homes and businesses in Egypt
We survey roofs in Egypt and across London and South East England. Visits run on weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays. We hold professional indemnity and public liability insurance. You get a written report by email, with photos and clear recommendations. Houses, flats and commercial buildings all follow the same careful process. When you are ready to book, ring 07833 053749 or use the contact form. If you’ve noticed blocked, sagging or leaking gutters and condensation or damp timbers in the loft, a survey will tell you what’s going on, on clay and concrete tiles, flat roofs and chimney stacks alike.
Somewhere as small as Egypt, homes are often older cottages and farmhouses, with outbuildings and some newer houses. Roofs there can be clay tile, slate, stone or thatch, and chimney stacks are often old. We report on whatever is safely visible, and thatch is a specialist material. Chimneys and lead flashings on old roofs often need the most attention.
Nothing in the report is left vague: where something needs attention, it says so plainly, and where it can wait, that’s said too.

What else we do in Egypt
Useful tips for Egypt property owners
Getting the most from a roof survey starts before we arrive and carries on afterwards. Some tips:
- Photograph stains when they appear
- Stay off ladders and the roof
- Watch for slipped slates after bad weather
- Keep the report with your property records
File the report with your other home documents. It gives you something to compare against later, and it can help when you sell.
Check the loft now and then, with care and a good torch. Look for water marks, damp wood and chinks of light. Take photos of anything that changes.
Checking the roof from ground level
The one thing to avoid is getting up close. Roofs are fragile and slippery, and falls from height are serious. That part is for a survey, using safe viewpoints and a drone where applicable.
A DIY look is useful, but it is not a survey. From the ground, valleys, flashings and the backs of chimneys are frequently out of sight.
Local roofs in Egypt
Across the South East, older homes tend to have slate or clay tiles, and many later ones concrete tiles, and flat-roofed additions turn up almost everywhere. On roofs like these, good slates or tiles can outlast the nails, battens, lead and mortar around them. Historic houses like Cliveden, about 3 miles west, show how far back building in the area around Egypt goes. Older roofs in the wider area can hide decades of patch repairs, so the detail matters, and any change of roofing material on a listed home needs checking with the council first.
Anyone responsible for a site like Farnham Common Infant School will know that a written record of a large roof helps plan work for the holidays rather than in term time. If you let a flat or house near Burnham station, knowing the condition of the roof, chimneys and gutters helps you plan work rather than react to complaints. The streets around a church such as St John the Evangelist are often among the oldest in a place, and if your home is one of the older ones nearby, old fixings, lead flashings and tall chimneys are typical of older roofs.
Egypt is about 3 miles north of Slough, in Slough. Whether the building in Egypt is a house, a flat or a commercial unit, we can survey the roof on a weekday or at the weekend. Egypt is one of the towns and villages in Slough where we work for roof surveys. There’s also a page for Reading.
All of SL2 is within our area for roof surveys, from the main roads to the quietest streets. If you need a roof survey at a property on Cages Wood Drive, Hammond End and The Avenue or anywhere close by, we can survey it. We also cover the places around Egypt: Farnham Common (1 mile south-east), Hedgerley (1 mile north-east), East Burnham (1 mile south), Farnham Royal (1 mile south) and Littleworth Corner (2 miles west). Within a short drive, we also cover Slough (3 miles south), Cippenham (3 miles south), Chalvey (4 miles south), Langley (5 miles south-east), Upton (4 miles south) and Burnham (3 miles south-west).
Around Egypt
Typical jobs here are in homes near Beechwood School, The Royal Oak pub and Caldicott School and the streets around them. The nearest railway station is Burnham station, about 2.9 miles south-west of the centre. Nearby you will also find Wexham Park Hospital (2.7 miles south-east). Green spaces nearby include Burnham Beeches and Taplow Lake.
The survey, step by step
On the day, we start by asking what you’ve noticed and what you’d like to know. We then inspect everything that can be seen safely. The survey usually takes between one and two hours for an ordinary house roof, and longer if there are extensions, dormers or several chimneys. Around Egypt, older homes can have small or awkward roof spaces, so it’s useful to know whether there is a loft hatch and how easy it is to reach. We only go where it is safe.
- You let us know about the property and any concerns.
- We arrange a day that suits you, including weekends.
- We inspect from ground level, from windows, from the loft space and from the roof where safe.
- Every part of the roof is checked and photographed.
- We email a report with photos and recommendations.
Preparing for the visit
- Tell us about any leaks, stains or damp patches you know of
- Unlock side gates and any roof access doors
- For a flat or shared roof, check access with the building owner or managing agent

How we price roof surveys
We confirm the price for your roof before you book. This is what makes a difference:
- Features like valleys, chimneys, dormers and parapets
- How many separate roofs there are, such as extensions, dormers and garages
- Whether thermal imaging or a drone is needed
- Basic, Standard or Premium
Our price is from £150, including VAT. The final price depends on the size and height of the roof, access and which survey you book.
What we need to know
If you can, have these to hand when you get in touch:
- Any photos you have, taken from ground level or a window
- Where the property is, with the postcode
- Anything about access we should know
- What made you get in touch
Prices start from £150, including VAT. What you pay depends on the roof’s size, access and the package, and you can phone 07833 053749 or drop us an email to find out.
Egypt questions
I let a flat near Burnham station. Can you check the roof?
Of course. We just need to know who will give access, and we can send the report to you or your agent.
Is Egypt within the area you cover?
Yes, we do. Our area covers London and South East England, from towns to the smallest villages. The journey is planned ahead, so it’s useful to know about access.
Which days do you carry out surveys?
Surveys can be booked for any day of the week: Monday to Friday, Saturdays and Sundays. Tell us which days suit you when you book.
What do you check on a roof survey?
All the main parts of the roof: the slates or tiles, ridges, valleys, flashings, chimneys, gutters and roof space. Standard adds moisture detection and a structural check, and Premium adds thermal imaging and a drone where it applies.
Do you survey roofs on blocks of flats?
Yes, once access has been agreed. Roofs over flats are frequently shared, so whoever owns or manages the building needs to agree access. We can only inspect what we’re given access to.
How quickly will I get the report?
It depends on the package: Basic within 48 hours, Standard within 24 to 48 hours and Premium the same day. It is emailed to you.
Will you climb onto the roof?
Only where it is safe to do so. Much of the survey is done from ground level, upper windows and the roof space. On Premium, a drone is used where it applies.
Leave it or get it looked at?
Without a survey, you are guessing at what the roof needs. You might pay for work that does not fix the real problem, or miss the fault that matters. We tell you what’s really needed. Matching old materials, such as handmade tiles or stone slates, can take time to source. Spotting a problem early leaves room to find them.
Thermal imaging and drone inspection (where applicable) come with the Premium Survey, from £400 with VAT included. We can help you choose the package that fits what you’d like to know.
