Coleshill Storm Damage Roof Report
An independent record of roof damage after a storm for Coleshill and the rest of Buckinghamshire. We survey seven days a week.
- Cowls or aerials dislodged in the wind
- Damaged flat roof membrane
- Slates and tiles blown off the roof
About our storm damage roof report in Coleshill
Each roof is looked at from the safest viewpoints available: from the ground, from windows and higher points, from the loft space and from the roof where it’s safe. Every area of damage is photographed and described. If part of the roof can’t be seen, the report says so. The report, with photos, is yours to pass to your insurer. Common reasons to book are lead lifted at abutments and lifted or missing ridge and hip tiles, on flat roofs, gutters and fascias and ridges and hips.
Roofs in small places like Coleshill often stand in the open, so storms hit ridges, verges and chimneys hard. Once water gets into older walls, it takes a long time to dry, which makes finding the cause quickly worthwhile. A written record also helps if you need to explain it to anyone else.
The report works through the roof section by section, from the coverings down to the gutters, each with a short note and a photo. You will see the good as well as the bad.

FAQs for Coleshill
Do you cover smaller places like Coleshill?
Yes, Coleshill is on our map. Villages and rural addresses get the same survey as a town house.
Does a conservation area affect roof work in Coleshill?
You can check whether a building is listed on Historic England’s list, and your council can tell you if it’s in a conservation area. If a home is listed, changes that affect its special interest need listed building consent, and in a conservation area re-roofing in different materials may need permission.
Do you need to get into the loft?
If the survey needs it and the loft space can be reached safely, yes. A clear path to the hatch helps, and if the loft cannot be reached safely, the report says so.
I live in a flat. Can you survey the roof?
Yes, once access has been agreed. The roof of a block or converted house is often shared, so we need permission from the building owner or managing agent. We can only inspect what we are given access to.
How much is a storm damage roof report?
A storm damage report starts from £150. Larger roofs are quoted for their size. Repair costs are not part of the report.
Does someone need to be in?
Not always. If we only need the outside, we can agree that beforehand, but anything inside needs someone there to give access.
Can you inspect my roof with a drone?
Yes, where it applies and safe. We fly a sub-250g drone and we are a CAA-registered drone operator (Flyer ID and Operator ID). It is included in the Drone Roof Survey and, where applicable, the Premium Survey.

Leave it or get it looked at?
A few slipped slates can soon lead to wet timbers. Acting quickly typically means less damage overall. Matching old materials, such as handmade tiles or stone slates, can take time to source. Spotting a problem early leaves room to find them.
We offer three survey packages: Basic from £150, Standard from £250 and Premium from £400, with VAT included. The price for your roof depends on its size, access and what you’d like to know.

Leaks and storm damage in Coleshill
About 4.6 miles north-east lies Chenies Manor House, a reminder of how long the area around Coleshill has been built on. If yours is one of the older homes, expect a mix of original materials and later repairs on the roof, and any change of roofing material on a listed home needs checking with the council first. Thatch survives on some older buildings in Buckinghamshire’s villages. Older houses in the South East often have slate or clay tile roofs, while many later estates have concrete tiles. Each of these roof types has its own typical places for water to get in.
If you look after a building such as Coleshill Church of England Infant School, tracing a leak on a big roof starts with where the water appears and works back. If you run a hotel or guest house in or near Coleshill, a roof problem can mean rooms out of use. If you let a flat or house near Amersham station, tracing a leak quickly matters when a tenant is living with it.
Coleshill is about 2 miles south-west of Amersham, in Buckinghamshire. Whether the building in Coleshill is a house, a flat or a commercial unit, the roof can be surveyed. We cover towns and villages across Buckinghamshire, from the larger towns to small villages. You can also see our page for Reading.

How we price storm damage roof reports
When we price a survey, we consider:
- Features like valleys, chimneys, dormers and parapets
- Whether you choose the Basic, Standard or Premium Survey
- Extensions, dormers and garages with roofs of their own
- Commercial roofs and larger buildings
Every price we give includes VAT. Prices start from £150, including VAT. We confirm the price for the job before booking.
Getting in touch
There’s no need for technical words. It’s enough to tell us:
- Anything about access we should know
- The reason for the survey, such as buying, a leak or storm damage
- Any deadline, such as an exchange date
- Pictures of the roof from a safe spot, if you have them
Most bookings start with a short call: ring 07833 053749 or email us and we will ask a few questions about the roof. You will have a price before anything is arranged.
Should I look at the roof myself first?
After strong wind, take a look from the pavement or garden: pieces of tile or slate on the ground, a gap in the ridge or a lifted flashing are all worth noting. Leave anything above ground level to a survey.
Your own check is a good start, but it is not a survey. From ground level, valleys, flashings and the backs of chimneys are frequently out of sight, and those are details a survey looks at closely.
What a storm damage roof report does not cover
No survey can tell you everything, and it is better to know them up front. Bear these in mind:
- Estimates of repair costs
- What your policy covers, which depends on its wording
- Acting for you with the insurer

Landlord and commercial surveys in Coleshill

The survey, step by step
Photos are taken throughout the visit, so you can see in the report what we found and where. We take close-ups from wherever is safe. Most surveys take an hour or two for most houses, rising to roughly 3–4 hours on a commercial building. Somewhere like Coleshill needs a little journey planning: let us know about lanes, gates and parking. The roof is looked at from the ground, from windows, from the loft where there is safe access and from the roof where it’s safe.
- You tell us what happened and whether a roofer has made the roof safe.
- Inside, we look for signs of water in the loft and rooms below.
- The roof is inspected from ground level, windows and the roof where it’s safe.
- We record fresh damage and older defects.
- You receive the written report with photos.
How to prepare
- Note where any stains or damp appear
- Have any paperwork from past roof work to hand
- Jot down any questions you want answered
