Storm damage roof reports in Little Ann

Storm damage roof report in Little Ann

Each roof is looked at from the safest viewpoints available: from the ground, from windows and higher points, from the roof space and from the roof where it is safe. Every area of damage is photographed and described. We note any part we couldn’t see. You get a photo-illustrated written report to give to your insurer. We survey slate and tile slopes, flat roofs and chimney stacks, and common reasons people get in touch are stains appearing after strong winds and broken or displaced guttering.

For a small place like Little Ann, the inspection is the same as anywhere: the journey and access are just planned beforehand. Let us know where the water shows, when it appears and anything you’ve noticed outside, along with any repairs done before. If you have photos of the water coming in, they help as well.

Nothing in the report is left vague: if work is needed, the report says so clearly, and where it can wait, that’s said too.

What this survey cannot tell you

To be straight with you, a roof survey has limits:

  • A price for the repairs
  • Damage hidden under coverings or inside the structure, without opening up
  • How your policy defines a storm

Not sure which survey suits your roof? You can ring 07833 053749 or drop us an email and we’ll tell you. What our survey covers.

What we check

  • Gutters and fascias
  • Flat roofs
  • Chimney stacks
  • Slate and tile slopes
  • Ridges and hips
  • Flashings

What happens if roof problems are left?

The sooner the damage is recorded, the clearer the evidence. Later weather and temporary repairs can make it harder to see what happened. Older and listed buildings around Little Ann may need consent and matching materials for repairs, so leaving a defect until it’s urgent leaves less time to plan.

Our price is from £150, including VAT. What you pay depends on the size and height of the roof, access and the package you choose.

What you get with us

  • Covered by professional indemnity and public liability insurance
  • A written report with photos
  • An independent view of the roof
  • Clear package prices, inc. VAT

Landlord and commercial surveys in Little Ann

For a freeholder or residents’ company, a roof report is a sound basis for a maintenance plan.

Letting agents frequently book on a landlord’s behalf, with the report sent to whoever needs it. We agree a time with the tenant beforehand.

Signs you need a storm damage roof report in Little Ann

When you claim, your insurer may ask for evidence of the damage and its cause. An independent report gives you a clear record to send. Your insurer still makes the decision.

A survey makes sense if you’ve noticed:

  • Damaged gutters and fascias
  • Damaged flat roof membrane
  • Loose or torn flashings
  • Lifted or missing ridge and hip tiles

Anyone responsible for a site like Abbotts Ann Church of England Primary School will know that tracing a leak on a big roof starts with where the water appears and works back.

Before booking anyone

  • Whether you can ask questions once you have the report
  • How they plan to inspect the roof safely
  • Whether they hold professional indemnity and public liability insurance

Little Ann questions

Is Little Ann in the area you cover?

We do. Every survey there gets the same written report with photos, and visits run on weekdays and weekends.

Will you come out to Little Ann?

Yes, we do. We cover the whole of London and South East England, and smaller places are part of that. The journey is planned ahead, so it is useful to know about access.

How should I record storm damage myself?

Stay off the roof. Photograph the damage from below or from a window. Record the date and any damage inside as well.

Will you walk on the roof?

Not always. Some roofs are too steep or fragile to walk on safely. We use safe viewpoints, the loft space and a drone where applicable.

Do I need to be at home?

If the survey includes the loft or the inside of the building, someone needs to let us in. Access is agreed with you as you book.

Who handles emergency protection after a storm?

Emergency temporary protection is a job for a roofer. If it’s safe, take photos before it goes on. Our report then records the roof.

How long have you been surveying roofs?

Over 5,000 surveys so far, over more than 20 years, with 98% customer satisfaction.

What we do, step by step

The visit normally starts outside and finishes in the loft: outside views come first, then the loft space if there’s safe access. In total, it takes between one and two hours for most homes, depending on how much of the roof was hit. Somewhere like Little Ann needs a little journey planning: let us know about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. The roof is looked at from ground level, from windows, from the loft where there’s safe access and from the roof where it’s safe.

  1. We note the date of the storm and the damage you’ve seen.
  2. We look at the roof from wherever it’s safe.
  3. Each area of damage is photographed and described.
  4. We note the likely cause and any signs of older wear.
  5. We send you the report by email for your insurer.

Before we arrive

  • For a flat or shared roof, check access with the freeholder or managing agent
  • Make sure we can get to the back of the property
  • Show us where any leaks or stains appear

Advice

Prices for storm damage roof reports in Little Ann

The price reflects the time and kit the roof needs. The main factors are:

  • Features like valleys, chimneys, dormers and parapets
  • The use of thermal imaging or a drone
  • The package you choose: Basic, Standard or Premium
  • How big the roof is

One thing that affects the price is the package: from £150 for Basic, £250 for Standard and £400 for Premium, including VAT. Size, height and access can affect the price too.

Helping us price your survey

We’ll usually ask about:

  • Your postcode, so we can check access and travel
  • The kind of building and roof involved
  • Your timetable, such as an exchange date
  • How the loft is reached, if there is one

Not sure which survey you need? The easiest way is to ring 07833 053749 or drop us an email and describe the roof and what’s worrying you. We will talk you through the options and what they cost.

What a storm damage roof report looks like in Little Ann

Thatch survives on some older buildings in Hampshire’s villages. Across the South East, older homes tend to have slate or clay tiles, and many later ones concrete tiles. The covering and its details give the first clues when tracing where water is coming from. England has around 10,000 conservation areas and about 500,000 listed buildings. If your home is listed, changes that affect its special interest need listed building consent, and in a conservation area re-roofing in different materials may need permission, so the council is the place to ask.

If you own a rental within reach of Andover station, tracing a leak quickly matters when a tenant is living with it. If yours is one of the older homes in the streets near Church of St Mary the Virgin, leaks on older roofs often start at lead flashings, valleys or around old chimney stacks.

Little Ann is about 2 miles south-west of Andover, in Hampshire. Whether the building in Little Ann is a house, a flat or a commercial unit, the roof can be surveyed on a weekday or at the weekend.
