Storm damage roof report in Warnborough Green: what you get

A storm damage roof report is priced from £150. You get a written report with photos by email. It doesn’t price the repairs, so you will need a roofer’s quote for that. The insurer may still send a loss adjuster of its own. What you get is an independent record of the damage and what seems to have caused it. Typical surveys look at damaged flat roof membrane and holes or cracks caused by debris, on ridges and hips, slate and tile slopes and chimney stacks.

Being in a small place like Warnborough Green makes no difference to how a leak or storm damage is looked at: we simply plan the journey and access ahead. Tell us where the water shows, when it appears and anything you’ve noticed outside, plus any earlier repairs. Photographs of the stain and of the roof from outside are helpful too.

Report times depend on the survey you book: the Basic Survey within 48 hours, the Standard Survey in 24 to 48 hours and the Premium Survey on the same day.

How it works

You don’t need to do much on the day. Point out anything you’ve noticed, such as stains, drips or loose pieces, and we’ll take it from there. A typical survey takes roughly 1–2 hours for most homes, depending on how much of the roof was hit. Around Warnborough Green, older homes can have small or awkward roof spaces, so it’s useful to know whether there is a loft hatch and how easy it is to reach. We only go where it is safe.

  1. First you give us the date of the storm and what you’ve noticed, inside and out.
  2. We inspect the roof from safe viewpoints and from the loft where there’s access.
  3. We photograph and record every area of damage we can see.
  4. The likely cause is recorded, along with any evidence of older wear.
  5. You get a written report you can pass to your insurer.

Getting ready for the survey

  • Buyers: confirm access with the estate agent or seller
  • Agree roof access with the managing agent if it’s shared
  • Unlock side gates and any roof access doors

Advice

What a storm damage roof report doesn’t cover

A survey is a close look at the roof, but it can’t do everything. The main limits are:

  • Acting for you with the insurer
  • What’s beneath slates, tiles or membranes
  • What your policy covers, which depends on its wording

Not sure which survey suits your roof? You can call 07833 053749 or use the contact form and we will tell you before booking. What a survey covers and does not.

Roof types and parts we check

  • Slate and tile slopes
  • Flashings
  • Gutters and fascias
  • Chimney stacks
  • Ridges and hips
  • Flat roofs

Why act early in Warnborough Green

Knowing whether older wear played a part helps you understand your position. Our report gives an honest view of both, so there are no surprises later. Outbuildings and barns around Warnborough Green are easy to forget, but a failed roof there can spoil what’s stored inside. A quick look before winter can save a lot.

Every price we give includes VAT. Our price is from £150, including VAT. You will know the price for your survey before you book.

Why book with us

Common questions in Warnborough Green

Is my home in Warnborough Green listed or in a conservation area?

Your council is the best source, with Historic England’s list for listed buildings. A change of roofing material may need consent in either case, and councils can also use Article 4 directions.

Is Warnborough Green in the area you cover?

Yes. We cover the whole of London and South East England, and Warnborough Green is part of that. You can phone 07833 053749 or send us an email with the address and a few details, and we’ll talk through which survey suits.

Do you look in the loft space?

If it’s needed and safe to reach, yes. Inside, we look for damp, staining, gaps and sagging, as far as the space allows.

Is this a RICS survey?

No. Our survey looks at the roof, not the whole building. If you need a full building survey, you’ll need a RICS survey as well.

Do you climb onto every roof?

Only when it is safe. Safe viewpoints, the roof space and a drone where it applies cover most of what’s needed.

Can you put a tarpaulin over the damage?

Emergency cover over a damaged roof should be arranged with a roofer. Take photos from the ground first if it is safe. Keep receipts for any emergency work.

How long is the visit?

It typically takes an hour or two at a typical home, and longer for a large or complex roof. The report follows by email.

How we price storm damage roof reports

We confirm the price for your roof before you book. This is what makes a difference:

  • Building height and the viewpoints available
  • How big the roof is
  • Basic, Standard or Premium
  • If the survey needs thermal imaging or a drone

Price depends partly on the package: from £150 for Basic, £250 for Standard and £400 for Premium, with VAT included. The roof’s size, height and access matter as well.

Booking your survey

We’ll typically ask about:

  • What made you get in touch
  • Any deadline, such as an exchange date
  • What kind of property and roof it is
  • Whether there is a loft hatch, a shared roof or tricky access

If you have photos of the roof, send them over. Pictures from the ground or a window are fine, and please don’t climb up for a closer look. To get started, ring 07833 053749 or drop us an email.

Different roofs, different checks

Chimney stacks

Pots, cowls and aerials on chimneys can be damaged or dislodged in a storm. The report notes any damage to the stack.

Clay and concrete tiles

Tiles can lift, crack or blow off in high winds. We record which are damaged and where.

What a storm damage roof report looks like in Warnborough Green

A number of Hampshire villages keep thatched roofs on their older buildings. In this part of the South East, older roofs are mostly slate or clay tile and many newer ones concrete tile. Where water gets in depends a good deal on what the roof is made of and how it is detailed. Listing and conservation areas can both shape what roof work is allowed on an older home. Your council and Historic England’s list will tell you where you stand, before anyone quotes for re-roofing.

If you look after a building such as Robert May's School, a leak through a large roof is often found some distance from where the water shows inside. If you live in an older home near Church of St Mary the Virgin, leaks on older roofs often start at lead flashings, valleys or around old chimney stacks. Landlords with a home close to Hook station may find that finding the cause of a leak fast keeps a tenant’s home dry and the work focused.
