Drone roof survey in Bloomsbury, Greater London
Close-up drone photographs of roofs that are hard to reach for Bloomsbury and the rest of Greater London. Surveys run on any day of the week.
- Coverings that have slipped high up on the roof
- Ridge and hip pieces working loose
- Standing water on a flat roof
Can I check my roof myself?
After heavy rain, check ceilings and the tops of walls for new stains. Take a photo and write down when you saw it, as it helps a surveyor trace the cause.
Keep a simple record: when leaks happen, ground-level photos and any past roof work. Send it with your enquiry.
Drone roof survey in Bloomsbury
A drone shows the outside of a roof very well, but it cannot see inside. We check the loft from inside where it is safe, because the underside tells its own story. Inside and out together tell you far more. The report sets out what the drone showed and what we found inside. Where the loft cannot be reached safely, we note it. We survey fragile roofs, tall and steep roofs and valleys and parapet gutters, and common reasons people get in touch are hidden gutters full of leaves and eroded pointing on a chimney stack.
London roofs sit shoulder to shoulder in terraces and blocks, so privacy and neighbours matter as much as the view. We take care to focus on the roof we have been asked to look at, in Bloomsbury as anywhere. Let us know about the building and access when booking. Steep slopes, tall chimneys and rear additions are where the extra view helps most.
Every survey ends with a written report, with photographs, sent by email. It explains the condition of the roof, the defects we found and what we recommend.

Airspace, weather and Bloomsbury roofs
Before any flight, we check the Drone Safety Map for airspace restrictions, including zones around airports and prisons. Bloomsbury has a number of hotels within about a mile and a half, and like offices and blocks, hotels often sit under flat roofs. If you look after one, a large roof can be surveyed without guests having anyone working above them.
Dr Johnson's House lies about 0.9 miles south-east, so building around Bloomsbury goes back a long way. Photos from the air and thermal images let an old roof be checked without anyone disturbing it. As a London address, Bloomsbury can be tricky for parking: a visitor permit or a nearby bay makes the day easier. Take a building like UCL School of Slavonic and East European Studies: big roofs are where close-up aerial shots and thermal images show the most at once.
Bloomsbury is about 1 mile north-east of City of Westminster, in Greater London. We survey roofs in Bloomsbury and the surrounding area as part of our work across London and the South East. Our Greater London coverage includes Bloomsbury and the places around it.
We survey roofs across NW1W, W1T and NW1 for drone roof surveys and the streets around it. Streets in the area include Drury Lane, Euston Road and Duke's Road, all of which we cover. You’ll find Bloomsbury on the A401 and A501, so it is easy for us to get to. If you are just outside Bloomsbury, we cover St Pancras (1 mile north-east), Euston (1 mile north-west), Kings Cross (1 mile north), Holborn (1 mile east) and Fitzrovia (1 mile west). Further out, we also cover Kensington (4 miles south-west), Walthamstow (6 miles north-east), Hampstead (3 miles north-west), Ruislip (13 miles west), Brompton (3 miles south-west) and Stockwell (4 miles south).
Near you in Bloomsbury
Around Bloomsbury, our work takes us to homes and buildings near Lincoln's Inn Fields, Pilsudski Institute of London and St George the Martyr Church of England Primary School. You will also find Queens Larder Public House (under half a mile south-east) and Maria Fidelis Catholic School FCJ (0.6 miles north-west). The nearest railway station is London Euston station, about 0.6 miles north-west. A little further out are Montfichet's Tower (1.2 miles south-east) and National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (under half a mile south-east). Not far away are Barnsbury Wood and Ludgate Hill.
When you need someone else
In fairness, a roof survey has limits:
- Neighbouring roofs the owner hasn’t asked us to survey
- Anything inside the loft or under the coverings
- Whether the roof structure meets design loads
If in doubt, phone 07833 053749 or send us an email and we will recommend the right survey before you book. What our survey covers.
What we check
- Fragile roofs
- Chimney stacks
- Large and complex roofs
- Tall and steep roofs
- Flat roofs on upper floors
- Valleys and parapet gutters
Why get it checked now?
On a tall building, problems are often found only when water comes in. By then, timbers, ceilings and insulation may be wet. Looking from above picks up the early signs. Many older London roofs have only old felt under the slates, or no underlay at all, so a slipped slate can soon mean water inside. Left alone, that means wet timbers and plaster, which is a far bigger job than the roof fault itself.
A small, low roof with good viewpoints takes less time than a tall, complicated one, and the package you pick makes a difference too. The price is always agreed first.
What you get with us

Different roofs, different checks
Large commercial roofs
Big roofs on offices, warehouses and units take time to inspect. The drone covers the roof area by area, so nothing is skipped.
Chimney stacks
The drone shows the outside of the stack, not a flue, gas or sweep inspection. If the flue needs a specialist, we’ll tell you.
Landlord and commercial surveys in Bloomsbury
We also survey roofs for businesses and commercial landlords, from shops and offices to industrial units. Bigger roofs take more time, and they’re priced for the size.
Managing agents and residents’ management companies use roof surveys to plan maintenance. The report sets out what needs attention now and what can wait.
Bloomsbury: your questions answered
Can you fly a drone over a roof in Bloomsbury?
It depends on the exact address and the weather on the day. Across London there are restriction zones around Heathrow, London City and London Heliport, plus restricted areas over Hyde Park, the City of London and the Isle of Dogs. Each address is checked against all of them before the drone goes up. Before any flight, we check the Drone Safety Map for airspace restrictions, including zones around airports and prisons. A small drone can’t fly safely in strong wind or a downpour.
Will parking be an issue for a roof survey in Bloomsbury?
It can be, so it helps to let us know about permits, visitor bays or off-street space as you book. The visit is then planned around what’s available.
Do I have to be there for the survey?
It depends on what we need to see. Inside the building and in the loft, we need someone to let us in; we’ll agree the details when you book.
Will you check the loft?
If the survey needs it and the roof space can be reached safely, yes. A clear path to the hatch helps, and if the loft cannot be reached safely, the report says so.
Does the report include photographs?
Yes. We photograph the roof as we go, and they go into the written report alongside our recommendations.
What does a roof survey cost?
Our price is from £400, including VAT. The final figure depends on the roof and the package you choose, and it is agreed before booking.
Do you cover Bloomsbury for drone roof surveys?
Yes. Our area covers London and South East England, and that includes Bloomsbury.

What else we do in Bloomsbury
The survey, step by step
The visit has one job: to look at the roof as closely as is safe and record what we find. Notes and photographs go into the written report. The visit usually takes about 1–2 hours for a house, while a commercial roof takes nearer three to four hours. Many London properties are flats or terraces with no side access, so the back of the roof is often seen from upstairs windows, from inside or, where a flight is allowed, from the air. Mention any building rules, key holders or managing agents when booking.
- You give us the address so we can check the airspace.
- If permission is needed, we ask for it ahead of the visit.
- On the day, we check the weather and the site before flying.
- We fly the drone close to the roof to photograph it in detail, always in sight.
- We email a written report with the photos and our recommendations.
Preparing for the visit
- Clear the way to the loft hatch
- Point out any leaks or damp patches
- Make sure pets are kept safely away
