Drone roof survey in Breach: what you get
From the air, the outer surfaces are clear, but it cannot see under the coverings or into the loft. Where there’s safe access, we look in the roof space too, since that is where leaks and condensation frequently show first. Inside and out together tell you far more. Your report shows the drone photos alongside what we saw in the loft. Where the loft can’t be reached safely, we note it. We survey tall and steep roofs, valleys and parapet gutters and large and complex roofs, and people most often book us about flashings that have come away and moss building up on slopes and in gutters.
In a small place like Breach, open ground can mean strong wind. High wind or heavy rain stops a small drone flying, and calm conditions also suit thermal imaging best. The visit is planned around the forecast, along with the journey and access. A change in the forecast can mean moving the visit to another day.
After the visit, you get a photo-illustrated written report, emailed to you. It sets out the condition of the roof, any defects and our written recommendations.

Rented homes, blocks and businesses
Letting agents can arrange access with tenants. We survey on weekdays and at weekends, which helps when tenants work during the week.
Businesses and commercial landlords can book us too, including offices, shops and units. Larger roofs take longer, so they’re priced to suit.

What a survey costs
Prices always include VAT. The things that change the price are:
- Height and safe access
- The type of building, from a house to a block or an office
- Extensions, dormers and garages with roofs of their own
- Features like valleys, chimneys, dormers and parapets
Bigger, taller and commercial roofs take more time to survey, so the price reflects that. The price is confirmed before you book.
Getting in touch
A little information up front helps. It helps to include:
- Any marks or damp showing indoors
- When you need the report by
- The kind of building and roof involved
- Access details, such as a loft hatch or a shared roof
You can call us seven days a week. To book or ask a question, call 07833 053749 or use the contact form.
Do you need a drone roof survey in Breach?
After storms, owners want to know what has moved. It’s hard to tell from below what has shifted. A drone shows what has slipped, lifted or gone.
These are some of the problems a survey can pick up:
- Blocked valleys and parapet gutters
- Cracked flaunching or loose chimney pots
- Blistered or cracked flat roof coverings
- Slates or tiles shifted by high winds
Whatever the street in Breach, a roof costs least to look after when faults are caught early.
Questions to ask before booking
- Will the report include photos?
- Whether VAT is added on top
- Their drone registration, if they fly one
- What the survey will not cover
Common questions in Breach
Do you cover smaller places like Breach?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. We cover the whole of London and South East England. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.
Are there drone restrictions around Breach?
That depends on where the roof is and on the weather. Before any flight, we check the Drone Safety Map for airspace restrictions. A small drone cannot fly safely in high wind or heavy rain.
Does someone need to be in?
If the survey includes the loft or the inside of the building, someone needs to let us in. Access is agreed with you when booking.
Will you go up on the roof?
Only if it is safe. We check everything that can be seen safely: from the ground, from windows and vantage points, from the loft space, from the roof itself where safe and by drone where it applies. Anything we cannot see is noted in the report.
Do you need to get into the loft?
If the survey needs it and the loft space can be reached safely, yes. A clear path to the hatch helps.
Is it a structural engineer’s report?
No. Our survey isn’t a structural engineer’s report. We will recommend an engineer if we see signs that call for one.
What happens after the survey?
You’ll receive the report by email, and you decide the next step: raise it with a seller, send it to an insurer, brief a roofer or share it with a managing agent.
What we cannot see
To be straight with you, there are limits to any roof survey:
- Flying in a flight restriction zone without the airport’s permission
- Roofs and gardens beyond the one we are surveying
- Flights in strong wind or heavy rain
If in doubt, phone 07833 053749 or send us an email and we’ll recommend the right survey. The full list of what we check.
What we check
- Fragile roofs
- Tall and steep roofs
- Large and complex roofs
- Flat roofs on upper floors
- Valleys and parapet gutters
- Chimney stacks
Drone roof surveys in Breach: local notes
The drone we use is under 250g, flown by a CAA-registered operator with a Flyer ID and Operator ID. Flights in the open category stay under 120 m (400 ft), with the drone kept in sight. Historic houses like Acrise Place, about 3.4 miles south, show how far back building in the area around Breach goes. Older roofs in the wider area can hide decades of patch repairs, so the detail matters, and a listed home or one in a conservation area may need consent for changes of material.
Breach is about 5 miles north of Hawkinge, in Kent. We provide drone roof surveys for homes and businesses in Breach and the surrounding area. Breach is one of the places in Kent we cover for drone roof surveys. You can also see our page for Canterbury.

Leave it or get it looked at?
Photographing a roof from the air doesn’t touch it. Fragile slates and tiles stay as they are, so you see the roof exactly as it is. For an older or listed building in a place like Breach, repairs may need matching materials and consent, so leaving a defect until it is urgent leaves less time to plan.
Thermal imaging and drone inspection (where it applies) come with the Premium Survey, which starts from £400, inc. VAT. We will tell you which package suits the questions you have.

What happens on the day
A survey visit follows a simple order: we listen to what’s been worrying you, inspect the roof from every safe vantage point, take photos as we go and record our findings for the written report. Most visits take roughly 1–2 hours for a house, and more on a big or complicated roof. Cottages and farmhouses around Breach often have roofs at several levels, with lean-tos and outbuildings attached. We work round each section in turn, from the safest viewpoints, and anything we cannot see is noted.
- First, we check whether a drone is the right tool.
- A date is fixed, with a fallback in case the weather turns.
- We fly over the roof, keeping the camera on the property we’re surveying.
- Where there’s safe access, we check the loft as well.
- Everything is written up, with the aerial photos and our advice.
Before we arrive
- Agree roof access with the managing agent if it is shared
- Make sure the loft hatch can be reached
- Leave side gates unlocked
