Breamore Drone Roof Survey
Need a drone roof survey in Breamore? We can help, with a written report you can act on. Book a weekday or weekend visit.
- Flat roofs on upper floors that hold water
- Gaps where slates or tiles have gone
- Wind damage high on the roof
Before and after the survey
A survey works best with a little help from you, before and after. Some tips:
- Make sure there’s room outside for the drone to take off
- Tell us the exact address when you book
- Expect a little longer if permission is needed
- Let us know what you want to see
You get an in-person consultation with the Premium Survey to go through what the drone showed. You can ask about anything that is not clear.
Plan a drone survey every few years for tall or large roofs. Comparing surveys shows what is wearing, so small faults are dealt with early.
Drone roof survey in Breamore: what you get
We fly a sub-250g drone, and we are a CAA-registered drone operator, with a Flyer ID and an Operator ID. We keep it in sight throughout, and well below the 120-metre height limit. Each flight is planned with the site and its surroundings in mind. Before every flight, we check the airspace and the weather. We never fly where it is not safe. Typical surveys look at gaps where slates or tiles have gone and standing water on a flat roof, across chimney stacks, valleys and parapet gutters and tall and steep roofs.
Somewhere as small as Breamore, older roofs are often steep and partly hidden by trees or outbuildings. Close-up drone photos and thermal images help show what cannot be reached safely. Both the forecast and the airspace are checked first. Steep slopes and tall chimney stacks are where a close-up view adds the most.
Report times depend on the survey you book: the Basic Survey within 48 hours, the Standard Survey in 24 to 48 hours and the Premium Survey on the same day.

Drones, thermal imaging and Breamore roofs
Every flight is checked against the Drone Safety Map first. A number of Hampshire villages keep thatched roofs on their older buildings. In this part of the South East, older roofs are mostly slate or clay tile and many newer ones concrete tile. Steep or complicated roofs are often hard to see from the ground, which is where close-up aerial shots and thermal images help.
For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Breamore Church of England Primary School, big roofs are where photos from the air and thermal images show the most at once. Breamore House, about 1 mile north-west, is one of the historic houses in the wider area around Breamore. Older roofs nearby can be steep and hard to see from the ground, and a survey from above or with a thermal imager does not touch the roof itself.

What we cannot see
In fairness, there are limits to any roof survey:
- Structural calculations (that is a structural engineer’s job)
- Flying in a flight restriction zone without the airport’s permission
- Anything inside the loft or under the coverings
If you’re not sure which survey you need, phone 07833 053749 or use the contact form and we will give you a straight answer. What a survey covers and does not.
What we look at
- Fragile roofs
- Chimney stacks
- Tall and steep roofs
- Flat roofs on upper floors
- Large and complex roofs
- Valleys and parapet gutters
FAQs for Breamore
Is my home in Breamore listed or in a conservation area?
Start with Historic England’s list for listing and your council for conservation areas. It’s worth checking before planning roof work, as both can affect what’s allowed.
Are there drone restrictions around Breamore?
It depends on the exact address and the weather on the day. Before any flight, we check the Drone Safety Map for airspace restrictions. The flight also waits for calm, dry weather.
Will you check the loft?
If it is needed and safe to reach, yes. Inside, we look for damp, staining, gaps and sagging.
Does this replace a RICS home survey?
No. Our survey looks at the roof, not the whole building. If you need a full building survey, you will need a RICS survey as well.
What does the report include?
It explains what we saw, what it means and what we’d suggest, with photos throughout. It also says if any part of the roof couldn’t be seen safely.
I live in a flat. Can you survey the roof?
Yes, if the building owner or managing agent agrees access. On a shared roof we can only inspect the parts we’re allowed to reach.
How do I book a survey in Breamore?
It’s easiest to call 07833 053749 or drop us an email. Give us the address and a few details about the roof, and we’ll take it from there. Surveys run on weekdays and at weekends.
What affects the price in Breamore
Prices vary from roof to roof, and it comes down to:
- Building height and the viewpoints available
- The shape of the roof and its details
- Which survey package you book
- How many separate roofs there are, such as extensions, dormers and garages
Every price we give includes VAT, and the report isn’t charged as an extra. Our price is from £400, including VAT. Where your roof sits in the range depends on its size, height and access.
Getting in touch
Before you get in touch, it is useful to have:
- Where any leaks, stains or damp patches show inside
- Any deadline, like an exchange date
- The property’s address and postcode
- The type of building and roof, such as pitched or flat
If you are buying, it is useful to book soon after your offer is accepted, so there is time to use the report before exchange. For any other survey, just phone 07833 053749 or send us an email when you’re ready.

When to book a survey in Breamore
Hidden gutters and valleys are easy to overlook. Leaves, silt and plant growth build up unseen, until it causes a leak inside. From above, they’re easy to see.
People typically book a survey after spotting something like this:
- Vegetation in valleys and gutters
- Flat roofs on upper floors that hold water
- Cracked mortar along the ridge
- Storm damage on steep or tall roofs
Take an older house close to St Boniface: steep roofs, tall chimneys and hidden valleys can be hard to see from the ground, and that is where a view from the air or with a thermal camera helps.
Before you book any roof surveyor
- Whether the loft is part of the inspection
- Is there a chance to talk the report through?
- Their report turnaround times
- How much experience they have with roofs like yours
How it works
Where it is relevant and can be reached safely, the loft space is checked as well as the outside. Inside, we look for staining, damp, gaps and signs of movement, as far as the space allows. The whole visit typically takes about 1–2 hours at most homes; commercial roofs usually need 3–4 hours. Rural addresses near Breamore can be hard to find from a postcode alone, so a few directions, or a note of a nearby landmark, help us arrive on time. The visit itself is the same as anywhere else.
- We confirm whether a drone suits your roof.
- A visit is booked for a weekday, Saturday or Sunday, weather permitting.
- Aerial photos are taken of your roof only, not the neighbours’.
- If the loft can be reached safely, it is checked too.
- The report sets out what we found, with photos and recommendations.
Before the survey
- Leave a clear route to the loft
- Gather any invoices or paperwork from past roof work
- Make sure we can get to the back of the property
Getting a price
A quick phone call is typically the easiest start: phone 07833 053749 or use the contact form, and we’ll ask about the building and what you need. You’ll have a price before anything is arranged.
