Flying and imaging in Bullsmoor
Across the South East, older homes tend to have slate or clay tiles, and many later ones concrete tiles. Older coverings on steep or tall roofs are hard to judge from below, so close-up photos from the air and thermal images help. Before any flight, we check the Drone Safety Map for airspace restrictions.
Forty Hall lies about 1 mile south-west, so building around Bullsmoor goes back a long way. Older roofs nearby can be steep and hard to see from the ground, and a survey by drone or thermal camera does not touch the roof itself. The streets around a church like St George's Church are often among the oldest in a place, and if your home is one of the older ones nearby, tall stacks and steep slopes are easier to judge with close-up aerial photos than from the pavement. Take a building like Honilands Primary School: a view from above covers a wide roof far faster than walking it.

About our drone roof survey in Bullsmoor
Drone roof surveys are available in Bullsmoor and throughout London and the South East, where the airspace and the weather allow. Flights take place on weekdays and at weekends. Every address is checked for airspace restrictions first. You get a written report with close-up photographs and recommendations. To check whether your roof suits a drone survey, phone 07833 053749 or drop us an email with the address. We survey valleys and parapet gutters, large and complex roofs and tall and steep roofs, and common reasons people get in touch are blistered or cracked flat roof coverings and damage after a storm that can’t be seen from below.
Even in a smaller place like Bullsmoor, there may be airfields or restrictions nearby, so every drone flight starts with a check of the Drone Safety Map. Open ground can mean stronger wind, which also affects whether a small drone can fly. Each flight is planned with neighbours’ privacy in mind, as well as the airspace and the wind.
The report does not just list problems. For each finding, it explains what it is, why it matters and what we’d recommend.

Landlord and commercial surveys in Bullsmoor
A roof problem in a let property affects your tenants as well as the building. A survey shows what needs attention, so you can plan the work around your tenants.
Where a roof is shared: access has to be agreed with whoever owns or manages the building. Mention it when you get in touch and we will plan the visit with that in mind.
How we price drone roof surveys
Several things affect the price of a survey:
- If the survey needs thermal imaging or a drone
- Building height and the viewpoints available
- Which survey package you book
- The number of roofs, including extensions and garages
For a price for your roof in Bullsmoor, phone 07833 053749 or email us and tell us about the roof. We will confirm the figure before booking.
Getting in touch
The more you let us know, the easier it is to price the survey. When you contact us, it helps to mention:
- The address and postcode of the property
- What made you get in touch
- Any marks or damp showing indoors
- When you need the report by
Not sure which survey you need? The easiest way is to phone 07833 053749 or use the contact form and describe the roof and why you want it surveyed. We will explain the options and the price.
What we cannot see
A survey is a careful look at the roof, but it cannot do everything. Its limits include:
- A flight where airspace permission is refused
- The underside of the roof (that needs an inside check)
- Photos in conditions too poor to fly
If you’re not sure which survey you need, call 07833 053749 or email us and we will give you a straight answer. What our survey covers.
Roof types and parts we check
- Chimney stacks
- Flat roofs on upper floors
- Valleys and parapet gutters
- Large and complex roofs
- Fragile roofs
- Tall and steep roofs
Leave it or get it looked at?
Close-up photos make conversations with roofers clearer. They show the location and extent of each defect. Around Bullsmoor, a leak in an older house can soak into timbers and plaster, which is far harder to put right than the roof fault itself.
Prices quoted always include VAT, and the written report is part of the package. Our price is from £400, including VAT. Where your roof sits in the range depends on its size, height and access.

The survey, step by step
The visit normally starts outside and finishes in the loft: outside views come first, then the loft space if there’s safe access. In total, it takes roughly 1–2 hours at a typical home, or half a day or so for a commercial building. In a smaller place like Bullsmoor, parking is seldom the issue; lanes, gates and long drives are worth mentioning. On bungalows and lower roofs, much can be seen from the ground, with the loft showing the underside, while taller roofs may need other vantage points or the drone where applicable.
- You give us the address so we can check the airspace.
- If permission is needed, we ask for it before the visit.
- On the day, we check the weather and the site before flying.
- The sub-250g drone takes close-up photos of the roof, kept in sight throughout.
- You receive a written report with photos and recommendations.
How to prepare
- Let us know about parking near the property
- Leave a clear route to the loft
- Unlock side gates and any roof access doors

Common questions in Bullsmoor
Do you cover smaller places like Bullsmoor?
We do. Villages and rural addresses get the same survey as a town house.
Are there drone restrictions around Bullsmoor?
Normally it comes down to two things: the airspace at the address and the weather. Before any flight, we check the Drone Safety Map for airspace restrictions, including zones around airports and prisons. A small drone can’t fly safely in high wind or heavy rain.
What’s in the survey report?
You get our findings in writing, part by part, with photos, finishing with recommendations. Points are put in order of urgency where relevant.
What insurance do you have?
Every survey is covered by professional indemnity and public liability insurance, and details are available on request.
When does the report arrive?
That depends on the survey you book: Basic within 48 hours, Standard in 24–48 hours and Premium the same day. The report is emailed to you.
How many surveys have you done?
We’ve completed more than 5,000 surveys, over more than 20 years, and 98% of customers are satisfied.
Can you give me structural calculations?
No. Visible signs such as deflection or sagging are recorded, but we don’t provide calculations or an engineer’s opinion. The report will say if you need an engineer.

How the survey changes by roof type
Steep slate and tile slopes
On slate roofs, slipped slates often point to corroded nails. Close-up photos show how widespread it is.
Valleys and parapet gutters
A butterfly roof drains to a central valley gutter. It’s almost impossible to see from the ground, but a drone shows it clearly.
