Why act early in Sole Street

With drone photos, everyone can see the same thing. You can show exactly where the problem is. Outbuildings and barns around Sole Street are easy to forget, but a failed roof there can spoil what’s stored inside. A quick look before winter can save a lot.

The cost of a survey depends on the roof: its size, its height, how many sections it has and how safely it can be seen. Our price is from £400, including VAT.

What you get with us

Drone roof survey in Sole Street

We carry out drone roof surveys in Sole Street and across London and South East England, where the airspace and the weather allow. We fly seven days a week. Every address is checked for airspace restrictions first. The report includes the drone photos and our recommendations. To check whether your roof suits a drone survey, call 07833 053749 or email us. We survey valleys and parapet gutters, tall and steep roofs and flat roofs on upper floors, and people most frequently book us about damage after a storm that can’t be seen from below and ridge pieces that have lifted.

Older buildings in small places like Sole Street may be listed or in a conservation area. A look from the air or with a thermal camera does not touch the roof, so it is a gentle way to see the condition of an old roof. Changes that affect a listed building’s special interest need listed building consent, so check with the council first.

What you get is a clear record of the roof on the day we saw it. That makes it useful now and a handy reference later, such as when you want to compare after future work.

What affects the price in Sole Street

What a survey costs depends on the time and equipment it needs. That comes down to:

  • The size of the roof
  • The number of roofs, including extensions and garages
  • How tall the building is and how easy the roof is to see
  • The type of building, from a house to a block or an office

For a price for your roof in Sole Street, phone 07833 053749 or send us an email and tell us about the roof. We will confirm the figure before booking.

What to let us know when you get in touch

You don’t need to know any roofing terms. Just tell us:

  • How the loft is reached, if there is one
  • Where the property is, with the postcode
  • The reason for the survey, such as buying, a leak or storm damage
  • What kind of property and roof it is

To arrange a survey, call 07833 053749 or send us an email with the address and what you’d like to know about the roof. You will know the price before anything is booked.

Your questions about drone roof surveys in Sole Street

Will you come out to Sole Street?

We do. Villages and rural addresses get the same survey as a town house.

Can you fly a drone over a roof in Sole Street?

Typically it comes down to two things: the airspace at the address and the weather. Before any flight, we check the Drone Safety Map for airspace restrictions, including zones around airports and prisons. The flight also waits for calm, dry weather.

What do I do with the report?

The report comes by email, and what you do next is up to you: use it with a seller, an insurer, a roofer or a managing agent.

How much does a drone roof survey cost in Sole Street?

Drone roof survey starts from £400, including VAT. The final figure depends on the roof and the package you choose.

Does someone need to be in?

If the survey includes the loft or the inside of the building, someone needs to let us in. Access is agreed with you when you book.

Will you check the loft?

Normally, if there is one and it can be reached safely. The roof space can show things the outside cannot, such as damp timbers, staining or daylight.

How long is the visit?

Most surveys take between one and two hours at most homes, rising to roughly 3–4 hours on a commercial building. We’ll confirm the timing when booking.

What we do, step by step

Where it’s relevant and can be reached safely, the roof space is checked as well as the outside. In the loft, the signs we look for are staining, damp, daylight and sagging, as far as the space allows. All in, the survey usually takes between one and two hours at a house, including the airspace and weather checks before take-off. Older roofs in small places like Sole Street can have low, tight loft spaces, so it helps to know whether there’s a loft hatch and how easy it is to reach. Only areas that can be reached safely are inspected.

  1. We confirm whether a drone suits your roof.
  2. A visit is booked for a weekday, Saturday or Sunday, weather permitting.
  3. Aerial photos are taken of your roof only, not the neighbours’.
  4. We also look inside the roof space where it’s safe.
  5. You get photos, findings and clear recommendations.

Advice

Drone roof surveys around Sole Street

Sole Street is within about 5 miles of the coast, and wind near the sea can be strong. The weather on the day decides whether a flight goes ahead, as a small drone can’t fly safely in strong wind or a downpour. Many older homes in Kent have handmade clay tiles, including Kent peg tiles held by pegs through two holes, and tile-hanging on their upper walls. Oast houses and timber-framed Wealden hall houses are part of the county’s older buildings too. Many roofs like these can’t be judged properly from the pavement, and that is where a view from above or a thermal image earns its place.

With Cobham College about 0.9 miles east, the area around Sole Street has a long history. Close-up aerial shots and thermal images let an old roof be checked without anyone disturbing it. If your home is one of the older ones in the streets near St Mary's Room, tall stacks and steep slopes are easier to judge with close-up aerial photos than from the pavement. If you look after a building such as Cobham Primary School, thermal images can show where wet insulation sits under a big flat roof.

What this survey cannot tell you

We only report everything that’s safely in view on the day, so there are some things a survey cannot cover:

  • A flight where airspace permission is refused
  • Whether the roof structure meets design loads
  • Close-up photos of next door’s property

If in doubt, phone 07833 053749 or use the contact form and we will point you to the right survey before booking. What our survey covers.

DIY checks: what’s safe

What you cannot do safely is get up close. Slates, tiles, flat roofs and rooflights can give way, and falls from height are serious. That part is for a survey.

You can learn a lot from ground level. With binoculars, look for slipped or missing slates and tiles, gaps along the ridge and leaning chimneys. Please do not climb up for a closer look.
