Thermal roof surveys near Emerson Park

About our thermal roof survey in Emerson Park

Our Premium Survey, from £400, brings together a full roof inspection and thermal imaging. You also get a drone inspection where applicable, structural analysis and a report on the same day. An in-person consultation and a 12-month follow-up are included too. To book, just call 07833 053749 or send us an email with the address and what you’ve noticed. Larger commercial roofs are quoted for their size. If you’re worried about stains that keep coming back and damp around chimneys and parapets, we can find out what’s behind it, on flat roofs, pitched roof slopes and commercial roofs alike.

London airspace is busy and tightly controlled: there are flight restriction zones around Heathrow, London City and London Heliport, and restricted areas over Hyde Park, the City of London and the Isle of Dogs. Every address in Emerson Park is checked before any drone flight, and permission is never taken for granted.

Where we cannot see part of the roof, the report says so. You’ll know exactly what was inspected and what wasn’t.

The survey, step by step

We don’t take risks to get a closer look. We inspect everything that’s safely in view, and anything we cannot see is noted in the report. Most visits take roughly 1–2 hours for a house, though large, tall or awkward roofs take more time. In converted houses and mansion blocks, the loft hatch is frequently on a shared landing. Where that is the case, access needs agreeing with whoever controls that landing. Otherwise, the visit in Emerson Park runs like any other.

  1. You let us know about the roof and any damp, leaks or cold rooms.
  2. We check the conditions and note how they may affect the images.
  3. We inspect the roof and take thermal images during the same visit.
  4. Moisture readings are used to check what the camera shows.
  5. The Premium report reaches you the same day, and we go through it with you in person.

Getting ready for the survey

  • Check the loft hatch can be reached
  • Make sure we can get to the back of the property
  • Show us where any leaks or stains appear

FAQs for Emerson Park

Will parking be an issue for a roof survey in Emerson Park?

It can be, so it helps to let us know about permits, visitor bays or off-street space as you book. The visit is then planned around what’s available.

Are there drone restrictions around Emerson Park?

The answer turns on the exact location and the conditions on the day. London’s airspace includes flight restriction zones around Heathrow, London City Airport and London Heliport, and restricted areas over Hyde Park, the City of London and the Isle of Dogs. Each address is checked against all of them before the drone goes up. Every flight is checked against the Drone Safety Map first. A small drone can’t fly safely in strong wind or a downpour.

How long does the survey take?

It usually takes about one to two hours at a house, including the thermal images, and around 3–4 hours for a commercial roof. You’ll then get the report by email.

Does the report include photographs?

Yes. Photographs are taken throughout the survey, and the report uses them to show each finding.

How long have you been surveying roofs?

We’ve completed more than 5,000 surveys, across 20+ years of surveying roofs, with 98% customer satisfaction.

Will thermal imaging find my leak?

Thermal imaging can help, alongside other checks. What it shows depends on the weather and the roof. If the source can’t be confirmed, we’ll say what could help next, such as electronic leak detection.

Is this a RICS survey?

No. It’s a specialist roof survey, not a RICS Level 2 or Level 3 building survey. It focuses on the roof, so it sits alongside a building survey rather than replacing it.

Leave it or get it looked at?

Wet insulation under a flat roof does not dry out on its own while the covering stays on. In time, it stops insulating properly and can damage the deck. Finding the wet areas sooner keeps the work smaller. Any roof job in Emerson Park means planning around parking, neighbours and access. Knowing what’s needed early gives you time to plan it calmly, rather than in a rush after a leak.

Our price is from £400, including VAT. Basic starts from £150, Standard from £250 and Premium from £400, VAT included, and we can help you choose.

Checking the roof from the ground

Watch the gutters in a downpour, from a window or the ground. Water spilling over the edge can point to a blockage or a sagging run.

Keep a simple record: when leaks happen, ground-level photos and any past roof work. Share it with us when you book.

When you need someone else

We only report whatever is safely visible on the day, so there are some things a survey can’t cover:

  • Clear results when the conditions on the day are poor
  • Confirming water without moisture readings
  • Whether the deck or roof structure is strong enough

If you are not sure which survey you need, ring 07833 053749 or email us and we will give you a straight answer. What a survey covers and does not.

Roof types and parts we check

  • Ceilings below the roof
  • Pitched roof slopes
  • Loft conversions
  • Insulated roof spaces
  • Flat roofs
  • Commercial roofs

Different roofs, different checks

Felt and asphalt flat roofs

On felt and asphalt flat roofs, wet insulation can show as a temperature difference across the surface. Moisture readings are used to check them.

Parapets, valleys and junctions

Damp at junctions can be hard to see by eye. A careful visual inspection goes alongside the images.

Landlords, agents and block managers in Emerson Park

We also survey roofs for businesses and commercial landlords. Bigger roofs take more time.

Buyers’ agents can book surveys on behalf of their clients. The report is emailed, so it can go straight to your client.

Thermal roof surveys around Emerson Park

The wider area around Emerson Park has a long history of building, with Hare Hall about 1.2 miles north-west. Older roofs in the wider area can hide decades of patch repairs, so the detail matters, and a listed home or one in a conservation area may need consent for changes of material. If the drone is used for your survey, we check the Drone Safety Map for restrictions before flying.

For an older house near a landmark like All Saints, older roofs can be steep and hard to see from the street, which is where aerial photos and thermal images help. Shop and office owners around The Mercury Mall may find that a commercial roof can be photographed from above without anyone walking on it. As a London address, Emerson Park can be tricky for parking: let us know about parking bays, permits or a driveway when you book, as a space near the door cannot be promised.
