Thermal roof survey in Loughborough Junction

Our Premium Survey, from £400, brings together a full roof inspection and thermal imaging. You also get a drone inspection where it applies, structural analysis and a report on the same day. There’s an in-person consultation as well, plus a follow-up 12 months later. To book, just ring 07833 053749 or drop us an email with the address and what you’ve noticed. Larger commercial roofs are quoted for their size. We’re frequently asked to look into damp where roofs meet walls and chimneys and thin or uneven insulation in the roof, across commercial roofs, loft conversions and pitched roof slopes.

London airspace is busy and tightly controlled: there are flight restriction zones around Heathrow, London City and London Heliport, and restricted areas over Hyde Park, the City of London and the Isle of Dogs. Before a drone goes up in Loughborough Junction, the address is checked against all of them, and where permission is needed, the flight waits for it.

Report times depend on the survey you book: the Basic Survey within 48 hours, the Standard Survey in 24 to 48 hours and the Premium Survey on the same day.

Why act early in Loughborough Junction

If a big flat roof may need replacing, knowing the wet areas first is useful. Images backed by moisture readings show where problems seem to be before you spend. Any roof job in Loughborough Junction means planning around parking, neighbours and access. Knowing what’s needed early gives you time to plan it calmly, rather than in a rush after a leak.

A Basic Survey starts from £150, including VAT. Standard is from £250 and Premium from £400, both with VAT included. We confirm the price for the job before booking.

When you need someone else

It’s a careful look at the roof, not the whole story. Its limits include:

  • Seeing water directly, as the camera shows temperature, not moisture
  • An energy rating for the building
  • A structural engineer’s assessment

If in doubt, call 07833 053749 or email us and we’ll recommend the right survey. What a survey covers and does not.

What this survey covers

  • Insulated roof spaces
  • Loft conversions
  • Pitched roof slopes
  • Commercial roofs
  • Ceilings below the roof
  • Flat roofs

Rented homes, blocks and businesses

Surveys can also be booked by buyers’ agents acting for a client. The report is emailed, so it can go straight to your client, photos included.

Managing agents and residents’ management companies use roof surveys to plan maintenance. The report sets out what needs attention now and what can wait.

What affects the cost of thermal roof surveys

To price your survey, we check:

  • Roof area
  • Whether thermal imaging or a drone is needed
  • Commercial roofs and larger buildings
  • Which survey package you book

Every price we give includes VAT, and the written report is part of the package. Our price is from £400, including VAT. Where your roof sits in the range depends on its size, height and access.

Getting in touch

Here’s what helps us most when you contact us:

  • Any deadline, such as an exchange date
  • Where the property is, with the postcode
  • Pictures from the garden or a window, if you have them
  • What’s prompted the survey

To book a survey, phone 07833 053749 or use the contact form with the address and what you’d like to know about the roof. We will confirm the price before you book.

Drones, thermal imaging and Loughborough Junction roofs

Within a mile and a half or so of Loughborough Junction there are several hotels. If you look after one, a large roof can be surveyed without guests having anyone working above them. About 2.6 miles south lies Kingswood House, a reminder of how long the area around Loughborough Junction has been built on. If your house is among the older ones, expect a mix of original materials and later repairs on the roof, and any change of roofing material on a listed home needs checking with the council first.

For hotels and guest houses around Loughborough Junction, a roof problem found early is far less disruptive than one found by a guest, so it pays to find faults before guests do. If you live in an older home near St Matthew's Camberwell, thin or patchy insulation under an old roof often shows up clearly on a thermal image. Anyone responsible for a site like St Saviour's Church of England Primary School will know that big roofs are where aerial photos and thermal images show the most at once.

What happens on the day

A survey visit follows a simple order: we hear what you’ve seen, look at the roof from every safe viewpoint, take photographs as we go and record our findings for the written report. Most visits take between one and two hours for most homes, plus time to check any thermal findings with moisture readings. For a visit in Loughborough Junction, parking and access are the things to plan: let us know about permits, visitor bays or off-street space, which floor the property is on and how to get into the loft. We then look at what can be seen safely from the ground, windows, the loft and, where it is safe, the roof itself.

  1. We start by discussing the roof, any signs of damp and how the weather may affect the images.
  2. We carry out a visual inspection of the roof from wherever it can safely be seen.
  3. A thermal camera records how the surface temperature varies across the roof.
  4. Any patterns of interest are checked with moisture readings where we can reach them.
  5. We write up the thermal images alongside ordinary photos and recommendations.

Should I look at the roof myself first?

If you have a loft with safe access, take a look inside. Take a torch and only step on boards or joists, checking for stains, damp wood or chinks of daylight.

During heavy rain, look at the gutters from ground level or a window. Water spilling over the edge can be a sign of a blockage or a gutter that has dropped.

Questions from Loughborough Junction

Will parking be an issue for a roof survey in Loughborough Junction?

In much of London, parking needs planning: a visitor permit or a bay close to the door helps a lot, so mention what’s available when booking.

How do I find out if my home in Loughborough Junction is listed?

Check Historic England’s online list first, then ask the council about conservation areas and any Article 4 direction. It matters most if you’re planning to re-roof in a different material.

Does thermal imaging work on slate and tile roofs?

It can help, but the results are often less clear than on a flat roof. The air space under slates and tiles can hide patterns, so we also look from the loft where it is safe.

I live in a flat. Can you survey the roof?

Yes. A shared roof needs access agreed first. Tell us about it when booking and we will plan the survey around it.

How many surveys have you done?

We’ve completed more than 5,000 surveys, over more than 20 years, and 98% of clients are satisfied.

Is thermal imaging good for finding leaks?

It frequently helps show where to look. Patterns can suggest where trapped water has spread. It’s used alongside a close inspection and moisture readings, as the camera alone can’t prove a leak.

Do I have to be there for the survey?

That depends on the survey. For inside areas and the loft space, someone has to give us access, while outside access can be discussed as you book.
