Temple Valley questions
Is Temple Valley in the area you cover?
Yes. Our area covers London and the South East, and Temple Valley is part of that. Just call 07833 053749 or use the contact form and let us know about the property.
Is my home in Temple Valley listed or in a conservation area?
Check Historic England’s online list first, then ask the council about conservation areas and any Article 4 direction. The answer matters most when a change of material is on the cards.
Will you fly a drone over my roof?
Where it helps and the rules allow, yes. We hold a CAA Flyer ID and Operator ID and fly a drone under 250g, and every flight depends on the airspace and the weather.
Will I get photos?
Yes. The report includes photos of what we found.
How quickly is the report sent?
The Premium Survey report comes the same day, the Standard within 24–48 hours and the Basic within 48 hours. Each one is emailed, ready to forward.
Can you survey at the weekend?
We survey seven days a week: Monday to Friday, Saturdays and Sundays. Let us know which days suit you when you book.
What do I do with the report?
The report comes by email, and you decide the next step: use it with a seller, an insurer, a roofer or a managing agent.
How a thermal roof survey works in Temple Valley
A thermal survey is not a quick fix for every roof problem. Sun, shade, reflective surfaces and wind can all change what the camera shows. That’s why we check findings with moisture readings and a close visual inspection. The report is clear about what the images show and what they do not. If a finding can’t be confirmed, the report suggests a next step. We survey flat roofs, loft conversions and pitched roof slopes, and people most often book us about gaps in loft insulation and cold spots on ceilings under the roof.
Villages like Temple Valley frequently stand in open country, where wind can be strong. A small drone can’t fly safely in strong wind or heavy rain, and thermal imaging works best with little wind. We plan the journey, access and timing around the weather. A change in the forecast can mean moving the visit to another day.
Pictures do a lot of the work in our reports, so you can see each defect rather than just read about it. Anything out of sight on the day is listed as such.

What a survey costs
Prices always include VAT. The things that change the price are:
- Height and safe access
- How complicated the roof is, with its valleys, chimneys and parapets
- The type of building, from a house to a block or an office
- Whether you choose the Basic, Standard or Premium Survey
We offer three survey packages: the Basic Survey from £150, the Standard Survey from £250 and the Premium Survey from £400, all with VAT included. The price for your roof depends on its size, access and what you want to find out.
What to tell us when you get in touch
There’s no need for technical words. It’s enough to tell us:
- The address and postcode of the property
- What’s prompted the survey
- How the loft is reached, if there is one
- Dates you are working to, such as exchange
Photos help, if you have them. Take them safely from the ground or a window; never climb up to get a better view. To get started, call 07833 053749 or email us.

Airspace, weather and Temple Valley roofs
Where the drone is part of the survey, the flight is checked against the Drone Safety Map first. With Hinton Ampner House about 4.2 miles east, Temple Valley sits in an area with a long building history. If yours is one of the older homes, expect a mix of original materials and later repairs on the roof, and a listed home or one in a conservation area may need consent for changes of material.

How the survey changes by roof type
Parapets, valleys and junctions
Water often gets in where roofs meet walls, parapets or valley gutters. Thermal imaging can help show damp patterns around them.
Pitched slate and tile roofs
Inside the loft space, thermal images can help with damp around stacks, valleys and roof windows. Findings are checked with moisture readings.
Why it’s worth a survey now in Temple Valley
Wet insulation under a flat roof does not dry out on its own while the covering stays on. In time, it stops insulating properly and can damage the deck. Finding them early can mean a smaller job. Around Temple Valley, older homes often have old roof timbers, where water from a failed roof can cause rot if it is left.
Prices start from £400, including VAT. Packages run from Basic at £150 through Standard at £250 to Premium at £400, including VAT, and we’ll tell you which fits.

The survey, step by step
There is not much for you to do on the day. Show us any stains, drips or problem areas you know about, and we’ll take it from there. The survey itself takes roughly 1–2 hours for most houses, while a commercial roof takes nearer three to four hours. Somewhere as small as Temple Valley, access is frequently the only tricky part. Let us know about outbuildings, past repairs and any leaks you’ve noticed. Weekday and weekend visits are available.
- First we go over the roof, the problem you’ve noticed and the conditions forecast for the visit.
- The roof is inspected visually from safe viewpoints.
- A thermal camera records how the surface temperature varies across the roof.
- Any patterns of interest are checked with moisture readings where we can reach them.
- You get a report with thermal images, photos and our recommendations.
Before the survey
- Note where any stains or damp appear
- Check pets are kept safely away
- Let us know about parking near the property
