Belbins Drone Roof Survey
We take a careful look at the roof at your property in Belbins, and put it all in a written report with photos.
- Cracked flaunching or loose chimney pots
- Moss building up on slopes and in gutters
- Damage after a storm that can’t be seen from below
Prices for drone roof surveys in Belbins
Not every roof costs the same to survey, for these reasons:
- The type of building, from a house to a block or an office
- Basic, Standard or Premium
- The roof’s overall size
- Whether thermal imaging or a drone is needed
Simple, low roofs take less time to survey than tall or complicated ones, and the package you pick makes a difference too. We’ll give you the figure before anything is booked.
Getting in touch
To price your survey accurately, we’ll ask about:
- Any marks or damp showing indoors
- The style of property, from a terrace to a block
- Access details, like a loft hatch or a shared roof
- The reason for the survey, such as buying, a leak or storm damage
Most bookings start with a short call: ring 07833 053749 or email us, and we’ll ask about the building and what you need. You will have a price before anything is arranged.
How a drone roof survey works in Belbins
Drone surveys suit tall houses, blocks of flats, steep roofs and large commercial roofs. They also suit fragile roofs that nobody should walk on, such as old slate, clay tiles or cement sheets. The roof is photographed without being disturbed. We check the airspace for your address ahead of the visit. We will tell you if another approach would work better. If you are worried about blistered or cracked flat roof coverings and tired mortar and pots at the top of a stack, a survey will tell you what’s going on.
In a small place like Belbins, open ground can mean strong wind. Strong wind or heavy rain stops a small drone flying, and calm conditions also suit thermal imaging best. We plan the journey, access and timing around the weather. A change in the forecast can mean moving the visit to another day.
How fast the report arrives depends on the package: Basic within 48 hours, Standard in 24–48 hours and Premium the same day.

Questions from Belbins
Do you cover smaller places like Belbins?
Yes, we do. We survey roofs across London and South East England, from towns to the smallest villages. Longer journeys are simply planned ahead of time.
Are there drone restrictions around Belbins?
Normally it comes down to two things: the airspace at the address and the weather. Before any flight, we check the Drone Safety Map for airspace restrictions. The flight also waits for calm, dry weather.
Will you photograph what you find?
Yes. The report includes photos of what we found.
Are you insured?
We hold professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
Do you survey roofs on blocks of flats?
Yes. A shared roof needs access agreed first, with the freeholder or managing agent. Let us know about it as you book and we’ll explain what’s needed.
Can you survey at the weekend?
Surveys can be booked for any day of the week: weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Just let us know the days that suit you.
What’s in the survey report?
It sets out what we found, why it matters and what we recommend, backed by photographs. Anything we couldn’t see safely is noted too, so you know exactly what was covered.

Honest limits
We only report whatever is safely visible on the day, so some things are outside what a survey can do:
- Structural calculations (that’s a structural engineer’s job)
- Neighbouring roofs the owner hasn’t asked us to survey
- Flights in strong wind or heavy rain
If in doubt, ring 07833 053749 or email us and we’ll suggest the right survey before you book. The full list of what we check.
What we check
- Large and complex roofs
- Fragile roofs
- Flat roofs on upper floors
- Tall and steep roofs
- Chimney stacks
- Valleys and parapet gutters
What happens on the day
We photograph the roof as we go, so you can see in the report what we found and where. Close-ups come from the safest viewpoint available. A typical visit takes about 1–2 hours for most homes, with the pre-flight checks included, and longer for big commercial roofs. Rural addresses near Belbins can be hard to find from a postcode alone, so a few directions are welcome. After that, the survey runs as it would anywhere.
- First comes the address, plus a note of what worries you about the roof.
- Airspace restrictions are checked and permission sought where needed.
- On the day, we check the wind, weather and site before flying.
- We fly the sub-250g drone close to the roof and photograph each area.
- We email the report with close-up photos and recommendations.
Preparing for the visit
- Tell us about parking before the day
- Point out any leaks or damp patches
- If it isn’t your property yet, arrange access through the agent
How to book
Buyers should book once an offer has been accepted, so there is time to use the report before exchange. For any other survey, just phone 07833 053749 or use the contact form when you are ready.
Advice
Airspace, weather and Belbins roofs
The drone we use is under 250g, flown by a CAA-registered operator with a Flyer ID and Operator ID. Flights in the open category stay under 120 m (400 ft), with the drone kept in sight. Before any flight, we check the Drone Safety Map for airspace restrictions, including zones around airports and prisons.
Anyone responsible for a site like Cupernham Junior School will know that big roofs are where aerial photos and thermal images show the most at once. Mottisfont Abbey lies about 2.7 miles north-west, so building around Belbins goes back a long way. Photos from the air and thermal images let an old roof be checked without anyone disturbing it. If yours is one of the older homes in the streets near Church of St Andrew, thin or patchy insulation under an old roof often shows up clearly on a thermal image.
Belbins is about 1 mile north of Romsey, in Hampshire. Surveys in Belbins work the same way as everywhere we cover: a close look at whatever is safely visible, photographs and a clear written report. Belbins is one of the towns and villages in Hampshire where we work for drone roof surveys. There is also a page for Southampton.

The countryside around Belbins includes Emer Bog and Baddesley Common.
How the survey changes by roof type
Large commercial roofs
Large commercial roofs cover a lot of ground. The drone covers the roof area by area, so nothing is skipped.
Valleys and parapet gutters
When a parapet outlet blocks, water can come inside. We check outlets and photograph any build-up.
Leave it or get it looked at?
On a tall building, problems are often found only when water comes in. By that stage the damage has spread inside. Looking from above picks up the early signs. Around Belbins, older homes frequently have old roof timbers, where water from a failed roof can cause rot if it is left.
The cost of a survey depends on the roof: how big it is, how high it is, the number of separate roofs and how safely it can be seen. Our price is from £400, including VAT.

Practical tips
Most of what helps is simple and safe from ground level. A few suggestions:
- Tell us the exact address when booking
- Move stored items away from the hatch
- Keep dogs indoors during the visit
- A word with neighbours beforehand helps
The report gives any roofer you ask to quote a clear brief. They’ll see exactly where each defect is.
Keep gutters, valleys and outlets clear, particularly in autumn. On high roofs, leave clearing to a professional. Many leaks start with a blocked outlet.
