Prices for drone roof surveys in Egypt

The price reflects the time and kit the roof needs. That comes down to:

  • Extensions, dormers and garages with roofs of their own
  • Whether it is a home or a commercial building
  • Which survey package you book
  • The shape of the roof and its details

The Premium Survey includes thermal imaging and drone inspection where it applies, which starts from £400, inc. VAT. We’ll tell you which package suits the questions you have.

Getting in touch

When you call or email, these details help:

  • Dates you are working to, like exchange
  • Anything about access we should know
  • Pictures from the garden or a window, if you have them
  • The property’s address and postcode

Buyers should book once an offer has been accepted, so there’s time to use the report before exchange. Otherwise, simply call 07833 053749 or send us an email whenever suits you.

Drone roof survey in Egypt

Tall, steep, large or fragile roofs can’t always be inspected up close. Our drone roof survey gets a camera close to them without anyone climbing. You see slates, ridges, chimneys, valleys and gutters in detail, including slopes that can’t be seen from the street. Everything we find goes into a photo-illustrated written report. It also suits roofs that would be damaged by someone walking on them. If we can’t fly, we tell you why. Common reasons to book are lifted or split lead flashings and moss building up on slopes and in gutters, across valleys and parapet gutters, large and complex roofs and fragile roofs.

Some older homes in villages like Egypt are listed or in a conservation area. A look from above or with a thermal imager does not touch the roof, which suits a building where any change needs care. Changes that affect a listed building’s special interest need listed building consent, so check with the council first.

We keep jargon out of it: where something needs attention, it says so plainly.

What we look for on each type of roof

Valleys and parapet gutters

Valleys and parapet gutters are hidden from the street. A drone shows linings, joints and build-ups of debris.

Chimney stacks

Our drone check of a chimney is visual, and it isn’t a flue or gas safety check. If the flue needs a specialist, we will tell you.

Your questions about drone roof surveys in Egypt

How do I find out if my home in Egypt is listed?

You can check whether a building is listed on Historic England’s list, and your council can tell you if it is in a conservation area. Listed building consent is needed for changes that affect a listed building’s special interest, and conservation areas can limit changes of roofing material.

Can you fly a drone over a roof in Egypt?

Usually it comes down to two things: the airspace at the address and the weather. Before any flight, we check the Drone Safety Map for airspace restrictions, including zones around airports and prisons. A small drone cannot fly safely in strong wind or a downpour.

Are you structural engineers?

No. Our survey isn’t a structural engineer’s report, and it does not include calculations. If we see signs that need an engineer’s opinion, we will recommend one.

Do you climb onto every roof?

Not unless it’s safe. Most of what we need can be seen from safe viewpoints, the loft and, where it applies, a drone.

Can you survey a shared roof?

Yes, as long as access is agreed. Roofs over flats are often shared, so whoever owns or manages the building needs to agree access. We can only inspect what we’re given access to.

Is it the same as a RICS Level 2 or Level 3 survey?

No. We’re experienced roof surveyors, and our survey covers the roof rather than the whole building. If you need a full building survey, you will need a RICS survey as well.

Do I need to be at home?

Not always. An outside-only look can be arranged beforehand, but the loft and any rooms with damp need someone to let us in.

Drone roof surveys around Egypt

Across the South East, older homes tend to have slate or clay tiles, and many later ones concrete tiles. Where a roof is steep, tall or hard to see from ground level, drone photos and thermal images add detail. With Cliveden about 3 miles west, Egypt sits in an area with a long building history. Period homes nearby can have lead valleys, tall chimneys and a patchwork of past repairs, and a listed home or one in a conservation area may need consent for changes of material.

For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Farnham Common Infant School, thermal images can show where wet insulation sits under a big flat roof.

Egypt is about 3 miles north of Slough, in Slough. Anywhere in Egypt, we can come and survey your property, on a weekday, Saturday or Sunday. Our area takes in places right across Slough, from the larger towns to small villages. We also survey roofs in Reading.

All of SL2 is covered for drone roof surveys, from the main roads to the quietest streets. Whether your property is on Cages Wood Drive, Hammond End and The Avenue or a nearby road, we can help. Other places close to Egypt include Farnham Common (1 mile south-east), Hedgerley (1 mile north-east), East Burnham (1 mile south), Farnham Royal (1 mile south) and Littleworth Corner (2 miles west). Further out, we also cover Slough (3 miles south), Cippenham (3 miles south), Chalvey (4 miles south), Langley (5 miles south-east), Upton (4 miles south) and Burnham (3 miles south-west).

Local landmarks in Egypt

We work in homes and buildings around Beechwood School, The Royal Oak pub and Caldicott School. The nearest railway station is Burnham station, roughly 2.9 miles south-west of the centre. Well-known places in the area include Wexham Park Hospital (2.7 miles south-east). Green spaces nearby include Burnham Beeches and Taplow Lake.

What we do, step by step

When we arrive, we begin with a quick chat about the roof and anything that is worrying you. After that, we look at everything we can see safely, using the ground, windows, the loft and a drone where applicable. The survey normally takes roughly 1–2 hours for most homes, with the pre-flight checks included, and longer for big commercial roofs. Somewhere as small as Egypt, access is often the only tricky part. Mention any outbuildings, barns or garages you want included, and anything about the roof you already know. Visits can be on weekdays, Saturdays or Sundays.

  1. First, we check the address for flight restrictions.
  2. If permission is needed, we ask for it before the visit.
  3. We assess the wind, the weather and the surroundings before take-off.
  4. We fly the drone close to the roof to photograph it in detail, always in sight.
  5. We email a written report with the photographs and our recommendations.

Preparing for the visit

  • If you’re buying, check with the agent that we can get in
  • For flats, check roof access has been agreed
  • Have any paperwork from past roof work to hand

Common roof problems in Egypt

Steep and tall roofs are hard to inspect safely. Tall townhouses, blocks of flats and offices are typical. A drone gets close-up views from a safe position on the ground.

These are some of the problems a survey can pick up:

  • Vegetation in valleys and gutters
  • Wind damage high on the roof
  • Slipped or missing slates on a high roof
  • Ponding and splits on a high flat roof

The streets around a church such as St John the Evangelist are often among the oldest in a place, and if your home is one of the older ones nearby, older roofs can be steep and hard to see from the street, which is where photos from the air and thermal images help.

Before you book any roof surveyor

  • Whether VAT is in the quoted price
  • How long they’ve been surveying roofs
  • Their drone registration, if they fly one
  • Their report turnaround times

What’s in a roof survey

Checking the roof from the ground

Fresh stains on ceilings or walls after rain are worth noting. Photograph them and note the date.

If you have a loft with safe access, take a look inside. Use a torch and stay on the joists or boards, checking for stains, damp wood or chinks of daylight.

What we cannot see

Every survey has limits, and it’s better to know them up front. Keep these in mind:

  • A flight on a day when the weather isn’t safe
  • Flying in a flight restriction zone without the airport’s permission
  • What’s under the slates, tiles or felt

If you’re not sure which survey you need, call 07833 053749 or send us an email and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking. What our survey covers.
