Prices for drone roof surveys in Grandpont
When we price a survey, we consider:
- The number of roofs, including extensions and garages
- The size of the roof
- Basic, Standard or Premium
- Height and safe access
Simple, low roofs take less time to survey than tall or complicated ones, and the package you pick makes a difference too. The price is always agreed first.

About our drone roof survey in Grandpont
Some roofs are hard or unsafe to reach. Our drone roof survey gets a camera close to them without anyone climbing. You see slates, ridges, chimneys, valleys and gutters in detail. Everything we find goes into a report with photos. It also suits roofs that would be damaged by someone walking on them. If we can’t fly, we tell you why. If you are worried about ponding and splits on a high flat roof and lead work pulling away at abutments, a survey will tell you what’s going on, whatever the roof.
Older cottages and houses around Grandpont may have little insulation, and some have extensions with their own roofs. A thermal image can show where heat is escaping or where moisture may be trapped, and drone photos show the roof surfaces themselves. Findings are checked with moisture readings where needed. Calm, dry weather suits both methods, so the date is set with the forecast in mind.
With the Standard Survey, you also get moisture detection, a structural check and a follow-up consultation. The Premium Survey adds thermal imaging, drone inspection where applicable, structural analysis and an in-person consultation.

Tips that help
Small things make a difference. Our tips:
- Expect us to rearrange if it is too windy or wet
- Clear a spot on the drive or lawn
- Tell next door if the drone will be near their property
- Mention anything you’ve noticed on the roof
With the Premium Survey, the report arrives the same day. It includes the drone photos where a flight was possible.
Keep gutters, valleys and outlets clear, ideally once the leaves have fallen. On high roofs, leave clearing to a professional. Many leaks start with a blocked outlet.
Airspace, weather and Grandpont roofs
Every flight is checked against the Drone Safety Map first, including zones around airports and prisons. There are several hotels within about a mile and a half of Grandpont. If you look after one, a large roof can be surveyed without guests having anyone working above them.
Take an older house close to St Matthew's: steep roofs, tall chimneys and hidden valleys can be hard to see from ground level, and that’s where a view from the air or with a thermal camera helps. If you look after a building such as St Ebbe's Church of England Aided Primary School, a view from above covers a wide roof far faster than walking it.

What we can’t see
In fairness, a roof survey has limits:
- A structural engineer’s report
- Photos in conditions too poor to fly
- What’s under the slates, tiles or felt

What we check

- Large and complex roofs
- Valleys and parapet gutters
- Fragile roofs
- Tall and steep roofs
Grandpont: your questions answered
Are there drone restrictions around Grandpont?
It depends on the exact address and the weather on the day. Every flight is checked against the Drone Safety Map first, including zones around airports and prisons. A small drone cannot fly safely in strong wind or heavy rain.
Is Grandpont within the area you cover?
Yes, Grandpont is on our map. Villages and rural addresses get the same survey as a town house.
Will you photograph what you find?
Yes. Photographs are part of every report, so you can see each point for yourself.
How much does a drone roof survey cost in Grandpont?
Prices start from £400, including VAT. Our three packages are Basic from £150, Standard from £250 and Premium from £400, with VAT included.
How experienced are you?
We have completed more than 5,000 surveys, over more than 20 years, and 98% of customers are satisfied.
How long is the visit?
It typically takes about one to two hours for most houses, while a commercial roof takes nearer three to four hours. The written report follows by email.
Will you go up on the roof?
Not always. Safety comes first, and fragile or steep roofs can’t always be walked on. Safe viewpoints, the loft and a drone where it applies let us see the rest.
How the survey changes by roof type
Chimney stacks
From the air, a lean or a loose pot is easy to see. Each defect is photographed for the report.
Steep slate and tile slopes
Steep roofs are risky to walk on. A drone photographs them closely from a safe position, showing slipped, cracked and missing pieces.

How the survey works
Safety comes first on every visit. Everything that can be seen safely is inspected, and if part of the roof can’t be seen, the report says so. The survey usually takes an hour or two at a house, including the airspace and weather checks before take-off. In a smaller place like Grandpont, as anywhere, the forecast plays a part: drone flights and thermal imaging need the right conditions, while a look from the ground and the loft can go ahead in most weather.
- We start with the address and what you’d like checked.
- We check the airspace and seek any permission needed.
- On the day, we check the wind, weather and site before flying.
- The drone photographs the roof closely, kept in sight throughout.
- You receive a written report with the photos and our recommendations.
How to prepare
- Leave a clear route to the loft
- Keep pets out of the way during the survey
- For flats, check roof access has been agreed
How to book
If you have photos of the roof, send them over. Take them safely from ground level or a window. To get started, call 07833 053749 or send us an email.

What we are asked to look at in Grandpont
Height and steep pitches make close inspection risky. Three-storey houses, blocks of flats and tall commercial buildings are common examples. A drone gets close-up views from a safe position on the ground.
Problems we come across frequently include:
- Outlets choked with leaves and silt
- Cracked slates and tiles out of sight from below
- Eroded pointing on a chimney stack
- Flashings that have come away
If you run a hotel or guest house in or near Grandpont, a roof problem can mean rooms out of use, so it is worth knowing the roof’s condition.
