Need a drone roof survey in Leamouth?

Leave it or get it looked at?

Planning roof work without seeing the roof is a gamble. You get photos of every part we can see, with recommendations prioritised by urgency where relevant. You can tackle the urgent items first. In Leamouth, as in much of London, water from a roof defect can reach a neighbour’s home as easily as yours: a blocked parapet gutter or slipped slate can let water into the flat below or the house next door. Dealing with it early is far less disruptive.

A Basic Survey starts from £150, with VAT included. The Standard Survey starts from £250 and the Premium Survey from £400. We confirm the price for the job before you book.

Drone roof survey in Leamouth

A drone can see more than your roof, so we take care. The camera stays on your roof, not on neighbouring homes and gardens. If your roof is joined to a neighbour’s, it’s worth letting them know about the visit. We survey the roof you’ve asked us to look at. Flights are kept as short as the job allows and focused on the roof in question. If you are worried about cracked slates and tiles out of sight from below and vegetation in valleys and gutters, a survey will tell you what’s going on, whatever the roof.

London roofs sit shoulder to shoulder in terraces and blocks, so privacy and neighbours matter as much as the view. We take care to focus on the roof we have been asked to look at, in Leamouth as anywhere. Tell us about the building and access as you book. The extra view helps most on steep slopes, tall stacks and rear additions.

You receive the findings by email, easy to pass on to a roofer, an agent or an insurer. Basic reports come within 48 hours, Standard within 24–48 hours and Premium on the day.

What we look for on each type of roof

Chimney stacks

Chimney tops are hard to see from ground level. Close-up photos show the pots, flaunching, pointing and flashings.

Flat roofs on tall buildings

Outlets, edges and roof plant are common problem areas. They’re all captured in close-up, as far as the flight allows.

Tips that help

There’s plenty you can do without going near the roof. Here’s what helps most:

  • Allow time for permission if you are in a flight restriction zone
  • Keep a clear space in the garden or drive for take-off
  • Move stored items away from the hatch
  • Tell next door if the drone will be near their property

The Premium Survey includes an in-person consultation to go through what the drone showed. It’s a chance to ask about anything in the report.

Have leaves and moss cleared from gutters, valleys and outlets, particularly in autumn. On high roofs, leave clearing to a professional. Many leaks start with a blocked outlet.

Landlord and commercial surveys in Leamouth

A roof problem in a let property affects your tenants as well as the building. A survey shows what needs attention, so you can plan the work with less disruption.

Buyers’ agents can book surveys on behalf of their clients. The report is emailed, so it can go straight to your client, photos included.

Can I check my roof myself?

Your own check is a good start, but it is not a survey. You won’t see flashings, valleys or the backs of chimneys properly from the ground.

Fresh stains on ceilings or walls after rain are worth noting. Take a photo and write down when you saw it.

Leamouth: your questions answered

Does a conservation area affect roof work in Leamouth?

We cannot confirm that for you, but Historic England’s list and your council can. Both listing and conservation areas can limit changes of roofing material.

Can parking be tricky for a visit in Leamouth?

In much of London, parking needs planning: a visitor permit or a bay close to the door helps a lot, so mention what’s available as you book.

Do you hold CAA registration for the drone?

Yes. Our registration covers a Flyer ID and an Operator ID. The drone we use weighs under 250g, flown within the rules for the open category.

Does your drone take thermal images?

Not as part of the drone survey, which is about close-up photos. Thermal imaging is a separate check in the Premium Survey.

How much does a drone roof survey cost in Leamouth?

Prices start from £400, including VAT. What you pay for your roof depends on its size, height, access and the package, confirmed before anything is booked.

What’s in the report?

Written findings with photos, covering the condition of the roof, the defects we found and what we recommend. Standard adds moisture detection and a structural check; Premium adds thermal imaging, drone inspection where applicable and structural analysis.

What happens after the survey?

The report comes by email, and what you do next is up to you: raise it with a seller, send it to an insurer, brief a roofer or share it with a managing agent.

The survey, step by step

It is useful to start with what’s prompted the survey: a purchase, a leak, a storm, new work or simply peace of mind. That way we can focus on what matters to you. The visit usually takes an hour or two at a house, including the airspace and weather checks before take-off. For a visit in Leamouth, parking and access are the things to plan: tell us about permits, visitor bays or off-street space, which floor the property is on and how to get into the loft. We then look at what can be seen safely from ground level, windows, the loft and, where it’s safe, the roof itself.

  1. We start by making sure a drone flight makes sense for the roof.
  2. A visit is booked for a weekday, Saturday or Sunday, weather permitting.
  3. We fly over the roof, keeping the camera on the property we’re surveying.
  4. If the loft can be reached safely, it is checked too.
  5. Everything is written up, with the aerial photos and our advice.

Preparing for the visit

  • Make sure we can get to the back of the property
  • Show us where any leaks or stains appear
  • Make a note of anything you’d like us to look at

How to book

Prices start from £400, including VAT. What you pay depends on the roof’s size, access and the package, so ring 07833 053749 or email us with the details.

Drone roof surveys in Leamouth: local notes

Leamouth is about 2 miles from the restricted area over the Isle of Dogs, where drone flights need permission from NATS. If a roof falls inside it, we apply for permission before flying, and the flight only goes ahead if it is granted. Within a mile and a half or so of Leamouth there are several hotels. For hotels and other commercial buildings, large roofs are where close-up aerial shots and thermal images show the most at once.

If you run a business near Stratford Centre, a commercial roof can be photographed from above without anyone walking on it. For hotels and guest houses around Leamouth, a roof problem found early is far less disruptive than one found by a guest.
