Drone Roof Survey in London Beach
Drone roof surveys around London Beach, with findings in writing and pictures to back them up. Book a weekday or weekend visit.
- Moss and weeds taking hold up top
- Hidden gutters full of leaves
- Damage after a storm that can’t be seen from below
For landlords and managing agents
We also survey roofs for businesses and commercial landlords, from shops and offices to industrial units. Larger roofs take longer, so they’re priced to suit.
For a freeholder or residents’ company, a roof report is a sound basis for a maintenance plan, with the most urgent items set out first.
Drone roof survey in London Beach
A drone shows the outside of a roof very well, but it can’t see under the coverings or into the loft. We check the loft from inside where it is safe, since that is where leaks and condensation often show first. Inside and out together tell you far more. The report sets out what the drone showed and what we found inside. Where the loft cannot be reached safely, we note it. We survey tall and steep roofs, large and complex roofs and fragile roofs, and people most often book us about worn lead at chimneys and walls and hidden gutters full of leaves.
Villages like London Beach often stand in open country, where wind can be strong. A small drone cannot fly safely in strong wind or heavy rain, and thermal imaging works best with little wind. We plan the journey, access and timing around the weather. If the day turns windy or wet, the visit can be moved.
We keep jargon out of it: if work is needed, the report says so clearly.

What a drone roof survey does not cover
In fairness, a roof survey has limits:
- Flights in a restricted zone without permission
- Flights in strong wind or a downpour
- Anything inside the loft or under the coverings

What affects the price in London Beach
We confirm the price for the job before you book. This is what makes a difference:
- The size of the roof
- Chimneys, valleys, parapets and other details
- Commercial roofs and larger buildings
- Height and safe access
Drone roof survey starts from £400, including VAT. The final price depends on how big and how high the roof is, how it can be seen safely and the package you choose.
What we need to know
Getting the details right at the start saves time. Please include:
- The kind of building and roof involved
- What’s prompted the survey
- Any marks or damp showing indoors
- Photos of the roof, taken safely from the ground or a window
Not sure which survey you need? It is easiest to call 07833 053749 or email us and describe the roof and why you want it surveyed. We will explain the options and the price.
DIY checks: what’s safe
A DIY look is useful, but it isn’t a survey. From ground level, valleys, flashings and the backs of chimneys are frequently out of sight, and those are details a survey looks at closely.
Fresh stains on ceilings or walls after rain are worth noting. Take a photo and write down when you saw it.
London Beach: your questions answered
Will you come out to London Beach?
Yes, London Beach is covered. We cover the whole of London and South East England, from towns to the smallest villages. Longer journeys are simply planned ahead of time.
Are there drone restrictions around London Beach?
That depends on where the roof is and on the weather. Before any flight, we check the Drone Safety Map for airspace restrictions, including zones around airports and prisons. A small drone can’t fly safely in strong wind or heavy rain.
How long have you been surveying roofs?
More than 5,000 surveys over 20+ years, across London and South East England.
What if it rains on the day?
Light rain does not usually stop a survey. Heavy rain or strong wind can ground a drone and make the roof unsafe, so we will agree a new date if the weather is not suitable.
How long is the visit?
Most surveys take about 1–2 hours at a house, including the airspace and weather checks before take-off. The report follows by email.
I live in a flat. Can you survey the roof?
Yes. Shared roofs just need a little more planning, with whoever owns or manages the building. Mention it when you get in touch and we will explain what’s needed.
What happens after the survey?
The report comes by email, and you decide the next step: raise it with a seller, send it to an insurer, brief a roofer or share it with a managing agent.

Practical tips
Most of what helps is simple and safe from the ground. Our suggestions:
- Clear the loft hatch so we can check inside too
- Keep pets indoors during the flight
- Let us know what you want to see
- Book early if you are near an airport
Premium also includes a 12-month follow-up. It helps you see how the roof has changed over the year, and whether work has done its job.
Keep the roof space ventilated. Poor airflow lets condensation build up, and it is something only an inside check will show. Keep insulation clear of the eaves.
How it works
Time on site depends on the size and shape of the roof; as a rough guide, the survey takes about one to two hours for most homes, with the pre-flight checks included, and longer for big commercial roofs. If you have questions on the day, just ask. Somewhere as small as London Beach, access is often the only tricky part. Mention any outbuildings, barns or garages you want included, and anything about the roof you already know. Visits can be on weekdays, Saturdays or Sundays.
- First comes the address, plus a note of what worries you about the roof.
- Any flight restriction at the address is checked, with permission requested if required.
- We assess the conditions and the take-off spot first.
- The drone photographs the roof closely, kept in sight throughout.
- You receive a written report with the photos and our recommendations.
Before the survey
- Buyers: confirm access with the estate agent or seller
- Tell us about any leaks, stains or damp patches you know of
- Have any questions written down, so nothing gets missed
How to book
We confirm the price for your survey before you book, so you know where you stand. Our price is from £400, including VAT. For a price for your roof, phone 07833 053749 or send us an email.
Advice
Airspace, weather and London Beach roofs
Handmade clay tiles, including Kent peg tiles hung on pegs through two holes, are typical of older Kent buildings. The county’s older buildings also include oast houses and timber-framed Wealden hall houses. Many roofs like these can’t be judged properly from the pavement, and that’s where a view from above or a thermal image earns its place. Smallhythe Place, about 4.2 miles south, is one of the historic houses in the wider area around London Beach. On older houses around here, roofs often carry the marks of earlier repairs, from replaced slates to new lead, and a listed home or one in a conservation area may need consent for changes of material.
If you own one of the older houses in the streets near Church of St Michael, tall stacks and steep slopes are easier to judge with close-up aerial photos than from the pavement. Anyone responsible for a site like St Michael's Church of England Primary School will know that thermal images can show where wet insulation sits under a big flat roof.
