Drone roof surveys in Loughborough Junction

What we are asked to look at in Loughborough Junction

The top of a stack is the most exposed part of many roofs. From the ground, you rarely see cracked flaunching or loose pots. A drone gets close enough to see them in detail.

It is worth booking a survey if you’ve seen:

  • Gaps where slates or tiles have gone
  • Blistered or cracked flat roof coverings
  • Ridge pieces that have lifted
  • Hidden gutters full of leaves

For a London address like Loughborough Junction, it’s useful to know about controlled parking before the day.

What to check before booking

  • Whether the loft space is looked at, where there is one
  • Whether VAT is in the quoted price
  • How long the report takes to arrive
  • What follow-up you get after the report

What a roof survey includes

How a drone roof survey works in Loughborough Junction

Our price is from £400, including VAT. The Premium Survey includes a drone inspection where it applies, along with structural analysis, a same-day report and an in-person consultation. There is a 12-month follow-up as well. If a drone will not help on your roof, we’ll say so. Every drone survey comes with a written report and close-up photos. If you’ve noticed cracked mortar along the ridge and vegetation in valleys and gutters, we can find out what’s behind it, on flat roofs on upper floors, valleys and parapet gutters and chimney stacks alike.

Flying in London takes more checking than most places: there are flight restriction zones around Heathrow, London City and London Heliport, and restricted areas over Hyde Park, the City of London and the Isle of Dogs. Every address in Loughborough Junction is checked before any drone flight, and permission is never taken for granted.

With the Standard Survey, you also get moisture detection, a structural check and a follow-up consultation. The Premium Survey goes further, with thermal imaging, drone inspection where applicable, structural analysis and an in-person consultation.

Should I look at the roof myself first?

Keep a simple record: when leaks happen, ground-level photos and any past roof work. Send it with your enquiry.

After strong wind, take a look from the pavement or garden: broken slates or tiles in the garden, gaps along the ridge or loose lead are signs to note. Leave anything above ground level to a survey.

What happens on the day

Photographs are taken throughout the visit, so the report shows exactly what we saw. Close-ups come from the safest viewpoint available. Most surveys take between one and two hours on an ordinary house, with bigger or more complicated roofs taking longer. London terraces rarely offer a view of the whole roof from one spot, so in Loughborough Junction we work round the house, using the street, the windows, the loft and any safe vantage point behind it. If other people live in the building, let us know who can let us into the shared parts.

  1. We confirm whether a drone suits your roof.
  2. A visit is booked for a weekday, Saturday or Sunday, weather permitting.
  3. Aerial photos are taken of your roof only, not the neighbours’.
  4. Where there’s safe access, we check the loft as well.
  5. The report sets out what we found, with photos and recommendations.

Advice

Useful tips for Loughborough Junction property owners

Nothing here needs a ladder. A few suggestions:

  • Keep pets indoors during the flight
  • Mention anything you’ve noticed on the roof
  • Let neighbours know about the flight if your roof is shared
  • Allow time for permission if you’re in a flight restriction zone

There’s a follow-up after 12 months with the Premium Survey. It helps you see how the roof has changed over the year.

Do not block the vents at the eaves. Condensation in the loft can damage timbers and insulation, and it’s something only an inside check will show. Keep insulation clear of the eaves.

What this survey cannot tell you

To be straight with you, there are limits to any roof survey:

  • What’s under the slates, tiles or felt
  • Close-up photos of next door’s property
  • A flight where airspace permission is refused

Not sure which survey suits your roof? You can ring 07833 053749 or email us and we’ll tell you before you book. The full list of what we check.

Loughborough Junction: your questions answered

Is parking a problem for a survey in Loughborough Junction?

London parking needs a little planning, so let us know about permits, bays or a driveway when you book. The visit is then planned around what’s available.

Is drone flying allowed in Loughborough Junction?

That depends on where the roof is and on the weather. The flight restriction zone around London Heliport in Battersea comes within about 2 miles of Loughborough Junction. The exact boundary is checked for each address before any flight, and a roof inside it needs permission before we fly. London’s airspace includes flight restriction zones around Heathrow, London City Airport and London Heliport, and restricted areas over Hyde Park, the City of London and the Isle of Dogs. Every London address is checked against them before a flight. The flight also waits for calm, dry weather.

Do you survey roofs on blocks of flats?

Yes, if whoever owns or manages the building agrees access. On a shared roof we can only inspect the parts we’re allowed to reach, and the report makes that clear.

Does the weather affect the survey?

A survey can usually go ahead in light rain. Heavy rain or strong wind can ground a drone and make the roof unsafe, so if conditions are not right we’ll arrange another day with you.

How experienced are you?

More than 5,000 surveys over 20+ years.

Will you walk on the roof?

Only where it’s safe to do so. We check everything that can be seen safely: from the ground, from windows, from inside the loft space, from the roof where it’s safe and by drone where it applies. Anything we cannot see is noted in the report.

How long will you be at the property?

It typically takes roughly 1–2 hours on an ordinary house, while a commercial roof takes nearer three to four hours. We will confirm the timing when you book.

Why it’s worth a survey now in Loughborough Junction

Faults on high roofs tend to be found late. By then, timbers, ceilings and insulation may be wet. Looking from above picks up the early signs. In Loughborough Junction, as across London, an overflowing gutter soaks the wall below. A small blockage left for a few winters becomes a damp problem.

One thing that affects the price is the package: from £150 for Basic, £250 for Standard and £400 for Premium, including VAT. The roof’s size, height and access matter as well.

Why book with us
