Why act early in North Aston

Planning roof work without seeing the roof is a gamble. You get photos of every part we can see, with recommendations prioritised by urgency where relevant. You can tackle the urgent items first. For an older or listed building in a place like North Aston, repairs may need matching materials and consent, so leaving a defect until it’s urgent leaves less time to plan.

Every price we give includes VAT. Our price is from £400, including VAT. We confirm the price for your roof before booking.

What you get with us

  • Photographs and a written report every time
  • Insured for professional indemnity and public liability
  • We hold a CAA Flyer ID and Operator ID
  • Visits on any day of the week

About our drone roof survey in North Aston

Drone roof surveys are available in North Aston and throughout London and the South East, where the airspace and the weather allow. We fly on any day of the week. We check the airspace for your address before booking a flight. You get a written report with close-up photographs and recommendations. To check whether your roof suits a drone survey, phone 07833 053749 or send us an email. We survey valleys and parapet gutters, chimney stacks and fragile roofs, and the problems we’re asked to look at most are moss building up on slopes and in gutters and flashings that have come away.

Villages like North Aston frequently stand in open country, where wind can be strong. Strong wind or a downpour stops a small drone flying, and calm conditions also suit thermal imaging best. The visit is planned around the forecast, along with the journey and access. A change in the forecast can mean moving the visit to another day.

Pictures do a lot of the work in our reports, because a photo of a cracked flashing says more than a paragraph. Anything out of sight on the day is listed as such.

What happens on the day

We work from the outside in: outside views come first, then the roof space if there is safe access. All told, expect an hour or two at a house, including the airspace and weather checks before take-off. Cottages and farmhouses around North Aston often have roofs at several levels, with lean-tos and outbuildings attached. We work round each section in turn, from the safest viewpoints, and anything we cannot see is noted.

  1. We confirm whether a drone suits your roof.
  2. A date is fixed, with a fallback in case the weather turns.
  3. The roof is photographed from the air, with the camera kept on your property.
  4. We also look inside the roof space where it’s safe.
  5. You get photos, findings and clear recommendations.

Preparing for the visit

  • Make a note of anything you’d like us to look at
  • Check we can get to the back of the property
  • For flats, make sure roof access has been agreed

When to book a survey in North Aston

After storms, owners want to know what has moved. Damage on a high or steep roof is hard to judge from the garden. A drone shows what has slipped, lifted or gone.

Look out for signs like these:

  • Gaps where slates or tiles have gone
  • Damage after a storm that can’t be seen from below
  • Chimney tops in poor condition
  • Standing water on a flat roof

If you live in an older home near Church of St Mary, thin or patchy insulation under an old roof often shows up clearly on a thermal image.

Before you book anyone

  • What’s outside the scope of the survey
  • Whether VAT is added on top
  • Their track record with similar roofs
  • How long the report takes to arrive

Questions from North Aston

Can you fly a drone over a roof in North Aston?

The answer turns on the exact location and the conditions on the day. Every flight is checked against the Drone Safety Map first, including zones around airports and prisons. High wind or heavy rain also stops a small drone flying.

Do you cover smaller places like North Aston?

We do. Villages and rural addresses get the same survey as a town house.

How soon will I get the report?

The Premium Survey report comes the same day, the Standard within 24–48 hours and the Basic within 48 hours. Each one is emailed.

Does this replace a RICS home survey?

No. It is a specialist roof survey, not a RICS Level 2 or Level 3 building survey. It focuses on the roof and can sit alongside a RICS survey.

Do you look in the roof space?

Yes, where the survey calls for it and there is safe access. We look for staining, damp, daylight and signs of movement.

Can you survey in bad weather?

It can, depending on the survey. Drones cannot fly safely in strong wind or heavy rain, and thermal imaging works best with a dry roof, little wind and a sunny day beforehand. If the conditions are not right, we will talk to you about another date.

What happens after the survey?

We email you the written report with photos and recommendations. You can use it to talk to a seller, an insurer, a roofer or a managing agent, whichever applies.

Different roofs, different checks

Flat roofs on tall buildings

Outlets, edges and roof plant are common problem areas. We photograph them closely.

Chimney stacks

Our drone check of a chimney is visual, not a flue, gas or sweep inspection. If the flue needs a specialist, we’ll tell you.

Before and after the survey

Nothing here needs a ladder. A few suggestions:

  • Be ready to move the date if the weather turns
  • Clear the loft hatch so we can check inside too
  • Let us know about any leaks or concerns
  • Give us the full address so we can check the airspace

The Premium Survey report comes the same day. Drone photographs are included where we could fly, alongside the other checks in the package.

Keep gutters, valleys and outlets clear, especially in autumn. On tall buildings, use a professional with the right access equipment. Many leaks start with a blocked outlet.

Honest limits

Every survey has limits, and we’d rather be clear about that before booking. Bear these in mind:

  • Flying in a flight restriction zone without the airport’s permission
  • A structural engineer’s report
  • Roofs and gardens beyond the one we’re surveying

If in doubt, call 07833 053749 or drop us an email and we will point you to the right survey. The full list of what we check.

What we look at

  • Flat roofs on upper floors
  • Tall and steep roofs
  • Large and complex roofs
  • Valleys and parapet gutters
  • Chimney stacks
  • Fragile roofs

Drone roof surveys in North Aston: local notes

Every flight is checked against the Drone Safety Map first, including zones around airports and prisons. Older buildings may be listed or sit in a conservation area. To find out, check Historic England’s list and ask the council about conservation areas. In either case, a change of roofing material may need consent.
