Springhead Drone Roof Survey

We take a careful look at the roof at your property in Springhead, and put it all in a report with photographs.

  • Cracked slates and tiles out of sight from below
  • Ponding and splits on a high flat roof
  • Vegetation in valleys and gutters

Before and after the survey

A survey works best with a little help from you, before and after. Tips:

  • Shut pets inside while we fly
  • Tell us the exact address when booking
  • Be ready to move the date if the weather turns
  • Clear a spot on the drive or lawn

There is a follow-up after 12 months with the Premium Survey. It helps you see how the roof has changed over the year, and whether work has done its job.

Have high or hard-to-reach roofs surveyed every few years. Comparing surveys shows what is wearing, so small faults are dealt with early.

Drone roof survey in Springhead

A drone shows the outside of a roof very well, but it cannot see inside. Where there is safe access, we look in the loft space too, because the underside tells its own story. Together, the two give a fuller picture. Your report shows the drone photos alongside what we saw in the loft. Where the loft cannot be reached safely, we note it. If you’ve noticed plant growth and moss on the roof and ponding and splits on a high flat roof, we can find out what’s behind it, whatever the roof.

Around Springhead, plenty of roofs are low enough to see partly from the garden or the street. The parts you cannot see, such as rear slopes, valleys and chimney tops, are where a drone or thermal camera adds detail. Both depend on the weather on the day, as calm, dry conditions suit both. Even so, a close-up image frequently shows wear on ridges and flashings that a view from the ground misses.

With the Standard Survey, you also get moisture detection, a structural check and a follow-up consultation. The Premium Survey adds thermal imaging, drone inspection where applicable, structural analysis and an in-person consultation.

How we price drone roof surveys

To price your survey, we check:

  • Whether it’s a home or a commercial building
  • How tall the building is and how easy the roof is to see
  • The package you choose: Basic, Standard or Premium
  • Any need for thermal images or a drone flight

Every price we give includes VAT. Our price is from £400, including VAT. You’ll know the price for the job before you book.

Helping us price your survey

The more you let us know, the easier it is to price the survey. When you get in touch, it’s useful to mention:

  • Whether there is a loft hatch, a shared roof or tricky access
  • Any deadline, such as an exchange date
  • Photos of the roof, taken safely from ground level or a window
  • Any marks or damp showing indoors

To get a price for drone roof surveys in Springhead, call 07833 053749 or use the contact form. The address, the type of property and what you need to know help us give you an accurate price.

How it works

Once we have finished looking, we write up our findings as a written report with photos, sent to you by email. As for time on site, it typically takes an hour or two at a typical home, or half a day or so for a commercial building. A visit to Springhead is planned like any other: the time, the access and where to park are agreed beforehand. Weekday and weekend visits are both possible. Let us know about any garages, outbuildings or extensions you want included.

  1. You give us the address and tell us about the roof.
  2. Airspace restrictions are checked and permission sought where needed.
  3. Before take-off, the wind, the weather and the launch spot are checked.
  4. Close-up photos are taken of each slope, chimney, valley and gutter, with the drone always in view.
  5. We email the report with close-up photos and recommendations.

Preparing for the visit

  • Leave a clear route to the loft
  • Jot down any questions you want answered
  • Leave side gates unlocked

Airspace, weather and Springhead roofs

Springhead lies within about 3 miles of the sea, and wind near the sea can be strong. The weather on the day decides whether a flight goes ahead, as a small drone can’t fly safely in strong wind or heavy rain. Every flight is checked against the Drone Safety Map first.

Historic houses such as Cobham College, about 4.1 miles south-east, show how far back building around Springhead goes. Older roofs nearby can be steep and hard to see from the ground, and a survey by drone or thermal camera does not touch the roof itself. If you live in an older home near Parish Church of St Botolph, older roofs can be steep and hard to see from the street, which is where close-up aerial shots and thermal images help.

Springhead is about 1 mile west of Northfleet, in Kent. Bookings from Springhead are handled just like any other: a call or an email, a price, then a date. Springhead is one of the towns and villages in Kent where we work. We also survey roofs in Maidstone.

Should I look at the roof myself first?

It helps to keep a record: when leaks happen, ground-level photos and any past roof work. Share it with us when you book.

After heavy rain, check ceilings and the tops of walls for new stains. Take a photo and write down when you saw it.

Springhead questions

Is drone flying allowed in Springhead?

The answer turns on the exact location and the conditions on the day. Every flight is checked against the Drone Safety Map first. The flight also waits for calm, dry weather.

Will you come out to Springhead?

Yes, Springhead is covered. We survey roofs across London and the South East, from towns to the smallest villages. Longer journeys are simply planned in advance.

How much is a survey?

Drone roof survey starts from £400, including VAT. You will know the price for your survey before booking, and it depends on the roof’s size, access and the package you choose. For a price, ring 07833 053749 or email us.

Is this an asbestos survey?

No. Asbestos surveys and testing aren’t part of what we do. If we see materials that could contain asbestos, like cement roof sheets or soffits on buildings from before 2000, we flag them, and recommend a specialist asbestos surveyor checks them before they’re disturbed.

Can you give me structural calculations?

No. We’re experienced roof surveyors, and visible signs such as sagging are noted, but calculations and an engineer’s opinion are outside what we do. The report will say if you need an engineer.

Does someone need to be in?

Someone needs to let us in if we’re looking inside or in the loft. Access is agreed with you when you book.

Do you look in the roof space?

Normally, if there is one and it can be reached safely. The loft space can show things the outside can’t, such as damp timbers, staining or daylight.

Do you need a drone roof survey in Springhead?

Steep and tall roofs are hard to inspect safely. Tall townhouses, blocks of flats and offices are typical. A drone gets close-up views from a safe position on the ground.

It is worth booking a survey if you’ve seen:

  • Blocked valleys and parapet gutters
  • Cracked flaunching or loose chimney pots
  • Lead work pulling away at abutments
  • Moss building up on slopes and in gutters

Shop and office owners around Bluewater may find that large commercial roofs are frequently easiest to see by drone or thermal camera.

Before booking anyone

  • What’s outside the scope of the survey
  • What happens after the report arrives
  • Whether any drone flown is registered with the CAA
  • Whether they hold professional indemnity and public liability insurance
