Drone roof surveys for homes and businesses in Wendlebury

Prices start from £400, including VAT. The Premium Survey includes a drone inspection where applicable, with a same-day report, structural analysis and an in-person consultation. There is a 12-month follow-up as well. We will tell you if a drone isn’t the right tool for your roof. Every drone survey comes with a written report and close-up photos. If you’ve noticed eroded pointing on a chimney stack and coverings that have slipped high up on the roof, we can find out what’s behind it, whatever the roof.

Some older homes in villages like Wendlebury are listed or in a conservation area. A look from above or with a thermal imager does not touch the roof, so it is a gentle way to see the condition of an old roof, before anyone decides what work it needs. Check with the council before planning any work on a listed building or one in a conservation area.

You receive the findings by email, easy to pass on to a roofer, an agent or an insurer. Turnaround is within 48 hours for Basic, 24–48 hours for Standard and same day for Premium.

Surveys for landlords and agents in Wendlebury

Buyers’ agents can book surveys on behalf of their clients. Reports are emailed, so they’re easy to pass on, photographs included.

Any of our surveys can be booked by landlords, agents and building managers in Wendlebury. To discuss a property or a block, ring 07833 053749 or send us an email.

What we look for on each type of roof

Valleys and parapet gutters

A butterfly roof drains to a central valley gutter. You cannot see it from the street at all, but it’s plain to see from the air.

Ridges and hips

Wind lifts loose ridge and hip tiles. Spotting them early stops them falling.

What happens on the day

The visit has one job: to see as much of the roof as can safely be seen and record it clearly. Notes and photographs go into the written report. The visit normally takes between one and two hours at most homes, with bigger or more complicated roofs taking longer. Rural addresses near Wendlebury can be hard to find from a postcode alone, so a few directions, or a note of a nearby landmark, help us arrive on time. After that, the survey runs as it would anywhere.

  1. First, we check the address for flight restrictions.
  2. Where a flight restriction zone or restricted area applies, we seek permission first.
  3. On the day, we check the weather and the site before flying.
  4. The sub-250g drone takes close-up photos of the roof, kept in sight throughout.
  5. We email a written report with the photos and our recommendations.

Before the survey

  • Keep pets inside or away from the areas we’re looking at
  • Let us know about parking near the property
  • Dig out any old roof reports or invoices

Arrange a survey

Prices start from £400, including VAT. What you pay depends on the roof’s size, access and the package, and you can call 07833 053749 or drop us an email to find out.

Advice

DIY checks: what’s safe

If you have a loft with safe access, take a look inside. Take a torch and only step on boards or joists, checking for stains, damp wood or chinks of daylight.

Watch the gutters in a downpour, from a window or the ground. Overflowing water can be a sign of a blockage or a gutter that has dropped.

What we cannot see

In fairness, there are limits to any roof survey:

  • A structural engineer’s report
  • Flights in a restricted zone without permission
  • Flights in strong wind or a downpour

If in doubt, phone 07833 053749 or drop us an email and we’ll point you to the right survey before booking. What our survey covers.

What we check

  • Tall and steep roofs
  • Fragile roofs
  • Flat roofs on upper floors
  • Valleys and parapet gutters
  • Chimney stacks
  • Large and complex roofs

What happens if roof problems are left?

Small defects on a high roof grow with each storm. Finding them now means less to put right. Matching old materials, such as handmade tiles or stone slates, can take time to source. Spotting a problem early leaves room to find them.

Prices start from £400, including VAT. What you pay depends on how big and how high the roof is, how it can be seen safely and the package you choose.

Drones, thermal imaging and Wendlebury roofs

Every flight is checked against the Drone Safety Map first. Listing and conservation areas can both shape what roof work is allowed on an older home. The council is the place to check, along with Historic England’s list.

If yours is one of the older homes in the streets near Church of St Giles, tall stacks and steep slopes are easier to judge with close-up aerial photos than from the pavement. Shop and office owners around Bicester Avenue may find that thermal images can show trapped moisture across a wide commercial roof.

Wendlebury is about 2 miles south-west of Bicester, in Oxfordshire. In Wendlebury, as across Oxfordshire, every roof gets the same careful survey. We cover towns and villages across Oxfordshire. We also survey roofs in Oxford.

Surveys in OX25 work the same way as everywhere else we cover. If you need a drone roof survey at a property on Church Lane, St Giles Close and Rectory Close or a nearby road, we can survey it. Close by, we survey roofs in Chesterton (1 mile north), Merton (2 miles south-east), Fencott (2 miles south-east), Charlton-on-Otmoor (2 miles south) and Ambrosden (3 miles east). Further out, we also cover Oxford (9 miles south), Banbury (15 miles north-west), Abingdon-on-Thames (14 miles south), Witney (14 miles south-west), Thame (13 miles south-east) and Kidlington (6 miles south-west).

Around Wendlebury

We work in homes and buildings around The Red Lion Public House and the streets around them. The nearest railway station is Bicester Village station, roughly 2.1 miles north-east of the centre. A little further out are Bicester Community Hospital (2 miles north-east) and Ardley Castle (4.9 miles north). For a walk, there’s Woodsides Meadow and Graven Hill.

Wendlebury: your questions answered

Is my home in Wendlebury listed or in a conservation area?

Start with Historic England’s list for listing and your council for conservation areas. Either can affect what roof work is allowed, so it’s worth checking before planning any.

Is drone flying allowed in Wendlebury?

Usually it comes down to two things: the airspace at the address and the weather. Every flight is checked against the Drone Safety Map first, including zones around airports and prisons. High wind or heavy rain also stops a small drone flying.

Do you work in Wendlebury?

Yes. We survey roofs across London and South East England, and that includes Wendlebury.

What does the report include?

It sets out what we found, why it matters and what we recommend, with photos throughout. It also says if any part of the roof couldn’t be seen safely.

How long is the visit?

Most surveys take roughly 1–2 hours for most homes, with the pre-flight checks included, and longer for big commercial roofs. We’ll confirm the timing when booking.

How much is a survey?

Prices start from £400, including VAT. We confirm the price for your roof before booking, based on the roof’s size, access and package. For a price, call 07833 053749 or send us an email.

Which days do you carry out surveys?

We survey seven days a week: weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Tell us which days suit you as you book.
