Drone roof survey in Yeading

The weather decides whether a drone can fly. We do not fly in strong wind or a downpour, because the drone has to stay safely under control. If the weather turns, we will agree another day. We check the forecast ahead of the visit and again on site. Calm, dry conditions give the sharpest close-up photos. Waiting for a better day is better than a rushed flight. We’re frequently asked to look into ponding and splits on a high flat roof and gaps where slates or tiles have gone, across flat roofs on upper floors, tall and steep roofs and valleys and parapet gutters.

Flying in London takes more checking than most places: there are flight restriction zones around Heathrow, London City and London Heliport, and restricted areas over Hyde Park, the City of London and the Isle of Dogs. Before a drone goes up in Yeading, the address is checked against all of them, and permission is never taken for granted.

The report does not just list problems. It explains what we found, why it matters and what we recommend, so you can decide what to do next.

How we price drone roof surveys

Prices vary from roof to roof, and it comes down to:

  • Whether thermal imaging or a drone is needed
  • Roof area
  • The package you choose: Basic, Standard or Premium
  • Building height and the viewpoints available

Prices start from £150, including VAT, for a Basic Survey. The Standard Survey starts from £250 and the Premium Survey from £400, both with VAT included. You will know the price for your survey before booking.

What to tell us when you get in touch

Before you get in touch, it is useful to have:

  • The type of building and roof, such as pitched or flat
  • Your postcode, so we can check access and travel
  • Pictures of the roof from a safe spot, if you have them
  • What made you get in touch

Booking is simple: just ring 07833 053749 or email us and give us some details about the property and we will point you to the right survey. The price is agreed up front.

What happens on the day

When we arrive, we start by asking what you’ve noticed and what you need to know. We then inspect everything that can safely be seen, using the ground, windows, the loft and a drone where it applies. The survey normally takes roughly 1–2 hours for most houses, and longer for a large or complex roof. In Yeading, as in much of London, a good many properties are flats or terraces without side access, so the back of the roof is often seen from upstairs windows, from inside or, where a flight is allowed, from the air. If the building has a managing agent or access rules, tell us as you book.

  1. First, we check whether a drone is the right tool.
  2. We agree a date, including weekends, subject to the weather.
  3. The roof is photographed from the air, with the camera kept on your property.
  4. We also look inside the roof space where it’s safe.
  5. Everything is written up, with the aerial photos and our advice.

Advice

Tips that help

Nothing here needs a ladder. Our suggestions:

  • Give us the full address so we can check the airspace
  • Keep dogs indoors during the visit
  • Expect a little longer if permission is needed
  • Tell next door if the drone will be near their property

There’s a follow-up after 12 months with the Premium Survey. It helps you see how the roof has changed over the year.

Every so often, look in the roof space with a torch, keeping to boarded areas. The underside often shows problems before the outside does. Take photos of any changes.

When you need someone else

No survey can tell you everything, and we’d rather be clear about that before you book. Bear these in mind:

  • Flying in a flight restriction zone without the airport’s permission
  • A flight on a day when the weather isn’t safe
  • The underside of the roof (that needs an inside check)

If in doubt, call 07833 053749 or send us an email and we’ll point you to the right survey. What our survey covers.

Drone roof surveys in Yeading: local notes

Yeading is about 2 miles from RAF Northolt, so the Drone Safety Map is checked for restrictions around it before we fly. We fly a sub-250g drone and are a CAA-registered drone operator (Flyer ID and Operator ID). Flights in the open category stay under 120 m (400 ft), with the drone kept in sight.

Northolt Manor lies about 1.4 miles north-east, so building around Yeading goes back a long way. Older roofs nearby can be steep and hard to see from the ground, and a survey by drone or thermal camera doesn’t touch the roof itself. For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Brookside Primary School, a drone or thermal camera can show a large roof in a single visit. Parking in Yeading, as in most of London, takes a little planning: a visitor permit or a nearby bay makes the day easier, as a space near the door can’t be promised.

Yeading is about 2 miles north-east of Hayes, in Greater London. Houses, flats, blocks and commercial buildings in Yeading can all book drone roof surveys. Our Greater London coverage includes Yeading. We also survey roofs in London.

Drone roof surveys in UB5, UB4 and UB1 work the same way as everywhere else we cover. Whether your property is on Owen Road, Friar Road and Maple Road or a nearby road, we can help. Nearby, we also carry out drone roof surveys in Yiewsley (1 mile north), Dormers Wells (2 miles south-east), Northolt (2 miles north-east), Southall (2 miles south) and South Ruislip (2 miles north). Within a short drive, we also cover London (13 miles east), City of Westminster (10 miles east), Marylebone (11 miles east), Kensington (8 miles east), St Pancras (12 miles east) and Shoreditch (13 miles east).

Landmarks near Yeading

We work in homes and buildings around White Hart Public House, Barnhill Community High School and Northala Fields, among other places. Yeading’s nearest station is Southall station, about 1.8 miles south of the centre. Nearby you’ll also find Hayes Cottage Hospital (1.5 miles south-west) and The Chimes (3.8 miles west). For a walk, there’s Middle Lake and Yeading Brook Meadows.

Rented homes, blocks and businesses

Letting agents can arrange access with tenants. Surveys run on weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays, which can make access easier.

We also survey roofs for businesses and commercial landlords, including offices, shops and units. Bigger roofs take more time.

Common questions in Yeading

Can you fly a drone over a roof in Yeading?

The answer turns on the exact location and the conditions on the day. Yeading is about 2 miles from the edge of the flight restriction zone around Heathrow Airport. We check the exact boundary for the address before flying, and if the roof falls inside it, we ask for permission first. RAF Northolt is about 2 miles away, so we check the Drone Safety Map for restrictions before any flight. Across London there are restriction zones around Heathrow, London City and London Heliport, plus restricted areas over Hyde Park, the City of London and the Isle of Dogs. Every London address is checked against them before a flight. The flight also waits for calm, dry weather.

Is my home in Yeading listed or in a conservation area?

Start with Historic England’s list for listing and your council for conservation areas. It’s worth checking before planning roof work, as both can affect what’s allowed.

What if it rains on the day?

A survey can typically go ahead in light rain, and it can even help show where water is getting in. Strong wind or heavy rain can stop drone flights and make roof access unsafe, so if conditions are not right we’ll arrange another day with you.

Do you look in the loft space?

Normally, if there is one and it can be reached safely. From inside, the underside of the roof often shows damp, staining or daylight that cannot be seen from outside.

What does a roof survey cost?

Prices start from £400, including VAT. Our Basic Survey starts from £150, the Standard Survey from £250 and the Premium Survey from £400, all including VAT.

Do you cover Yeading?

Yes. We carry out drone roof surveys in Yeading.

How many surveys have you done?

We’ve completed more than 5,000 surveys, over more than 20 years, and 98% of clients are satisfied.

What happens if roof problems are left?

Faults on high roofs tend to be found late. By that stage the damage has spread inside. Looking from above picks up the early signs. In a London terrace or conversion, a roof defect rarely stays your problem alone: a blocked parapet gutter or slipped slate can let water into the flat below or the house next door. Dealing with it early is far less disruptive.

One thing that affects the price is the package: Basic from £150, Standard from £250 or Premium from £400, all inc. VAT. The roof’s size, height and access matter as well.
