Need a drone roof survey in Damerham?

When you need someone else

We only report everything that’s safely in view on the day, so there are some things a survey cannot cover:

  • What’s under the slates, tiles or felt
  • A structural engineer’s report
  • Roofs and gardens beyond the one we are surveying

If you’re not sure which survey you need, phone 07833 053749 or send us an email and we will give you a straight answer before you book. What our survey covers.

What this survey covers

  • Flat roofs on upper floors
  • Tall and steep roofs
  • Chimney stacks
  • Fragile roofs
  • Large and complex roofs
  • Valleys and parapet gutters

Drone roof survey in Damerham: what you get

Drone surveys suit tall houses, blocks of flats, steep roofs and large commercial roofs. They’re useful where walking on the roof could damage it or isn’t safe. The roof is photographed without being disturbed. We check the airspace for your address ahead of the visit. We will tell you if another approach would work better. If you’ve noticed cracked mortar along the ridge and slates or tiles shifted by high winds, we can find out what’s behind it, on chimney stacks, flat roofs on upper floors and large and complex roofs alike.

In a small place like Damerham, open ground can mean strong wind. High wind or heavy rain stops a small drone flying, and calm conditions also suit thermal imaging best. The visit is planned around the forecast, along with the journey and access. A change in the forecast can mean moving the visit to another day.

Most points in the report come with a picture, so you can see each defect rather than just read about it. Anything out of sight on the day is listed as such.

What we do, step by step

We’ll ask a few questions first, about the roof’s history, any leaks and past repairs. Then the inspection itself takes about 1–2 hours for most houses, or half a day or so for a commercial building. Older rural homes like those around Damerham can have a main roof, lower lean-to roofs and outbuildings all joined together. We work round each section in turn, from the safest viewpoints, and anything we cannot see is noted.

  1. We start by checking the airspace and any restrictions at your address.
  2. Where a flight restriction zone or restricted area applies, we seek permission first.
  3. We assess the wind, the weather and the surroundings before take-off.
  4. The sub-250g drone takes close-up photographs of the roof, kept in sight throughout.
  5. Your report arrives by email, with close-up photos and recommendations.

How to prepare

  • If the roof is shared, arrange access with whoever manages the building
  • Leave side gates unlocked

How we price drone roof surveys

Prices always include VAT. What changes the price is:

  • The shape of the roof and its details
  • Commercial roofs and larger buildings
  • The height of the building and how the roof can safely be seen
  • How big the roof is

Bigger, taller and commercial roofs take more time to survey, so the price reflects that. The price is confirmed before you book.

Helping us price your survey

The more you let us know, the easier it is to price the survey. When you get in touch, it is useful to mention:

  • Pictures from the garden or a window, if you have them
  • Where any leaks, stains or damp patches show inside
  • The property’s address and postcode
  • The type of building and roof, like pitched or flat

Unsure which package suits your roof? The easiest way is to ring 07833 053749 or drop us an email and describe the roof and why you want it surveyed. We’ll explain the options and the price.

Common questions in Damerham

Are there drone restrictions around Damerham?

It depends on the exact address and the weather on the day. Every flight is checked against the Drone Safety Map first, including zones around airports and prisons. The flight also waits for calm, dry weather.

Is my home in Damerham listed or in a conservation area?

We cannot confirm that for you, but Historic England’s list and your council can. A change of roofing material may need consent in either case.

Do you carry out surveys on Saturdays and Sundays?

Visits run seven days a week in the daytime, which suits people who work during the week. Let us know your preferred days when booking.

What happens after the survey?

The report arrives by email, with photographs and clear recommendations. With Standard there is a follow-up consultation; with Premium, an in-person consultation, so you can talk the findings through.

What’s in the report?

Written findings with photographs, covering the condition of the roof, the defects we found and what we recommend. Standard adds moisture detection and a structural check; Premium adds thermal imaging, drone inspection where it applies and structural analysis.

What insurance do you have?

Professional indemnity and public liability insurance cover our surveys. Ask if you need details for a managing agent or building owner.

Do you test for asbestos?

No. Asbestos surveys and testing aren’t part of what we do. We flag materials that could contain asbestos, like cement sheets or soffits on pre-2000 buildings and suggest a specialist asbestos surveyor checks them before any work.

Drone roof surveys in Damerham: local notes

A number of Hampshire villages keep thatched roofs on their older buildings. Slate and clay tile are the usual coverings on older South East houses, with concrete tiles on many later estates. Older coverings on steep or tall roofs are hard to judge from below, so close-up close-up aerial shots and thermal images help. The wider area around Damerham has a long history of building, with Breamore House about 3.5 miles north-east. Older homes in the wider area often have features worth a closer look, such as lead valleys, tall stacks and roofs that have been patched over the years, and the council can say whether a home is in a conservation area.

If you live in an older home near Church of St George, older roofs can be steep and hard to see from the street, which is where close-up aerial shots and thermal images help.

Before and after the survey

From years of surveys, a few habits stand out:

  • Share the postcode so we can check for restrictions
  • Expect us to rearrange if it is too windy or wet
  • A word with neighbours beforehand helps
  • Clear a spot on the drive or lawn

Premium also includes a 12-month follow-up. It shows whether anything has moved or worn since the first visit.

Look at the roof from the ground after strong winds. Pieces of slate or tile on the ground mean something has moved. A drone survey can show what has shifted.

Landlords, agents and block managers in Damerham

Businesses and commercial landlords can book us too, from shops and offices to industrial units. Bigger roofs take more time, so they’re priced to suit.

Roof problems in a rented home affect tenants as well as the building. A survey helps you spot issues early and plan the work.

Different roofs, different checks

Ridges and hips

Some ridges are fixed with mortar, others with dry-fix systems. We record what we see of their condition.

Large commercial roofs

Fragile roof sheets and roof lights can be dangerous to walk on. With a drone, nobody has to go near them.
