Drone roof survey in Roehampton

Prices start from £400, including VAT. A drone inspection, where applicable, is also part of our Premium Survey, along with structural analysis, a same-day report and an in-person consultation. There is a 12-month follow-up as well. We will tell you if a drone is not the right tool for your roof. You get a written report with the close-up photos from the flight. Common reasons to book are worn lead at chimneys and walls and blistered or cracked flat roof coverings, across large and complex roofs, tall and steep roofs and chimney stacks.

London roofs sit shoulder to shoulder in terraces and blocks, so privacy and neighbours matter as much as the view. Images are taken to show the roof we are surveying, with care for neighbours’ privacy, in Roehampton as anywhere. Mention access, height and anything unusual about the building when booking. Steep slopes, tall chimneys and rear additions are where the extra view helps most.

Most points in the report come with a picture, so you can see each defect rather than just read about it. If something couldn’t be seen safely, the report is clear about it.

When you need someone else

To be straight with you, a roof survey has limits:

  • A flight on a day when the weather isn’t safe
  • Whether the roof structure meets design loads
  • Close-up photos of next door’s property

If in doubt, ring 07833 053749 or use the contact form and we will suggest the right survey. What a survey covers and does not.

Roof types and parts we check

  • Valleys and parapet gutters
  • Tall and steep roofs
  • Large and complex roofs
  • Chimney stacks
  • Flat roofs on upper floors
  • Fragile roofs

How it works

Before we start, tell us why you’ve booked: buying, a leak, storm damage, new work or just wanting to know where things stand. It helps us focus on what matters most to you. The visit typically takes about one to two hours at a typical home, while a commercial roof takes nearer three to four hours. Surveys in Roehampton can be booked for any day of the week. It helps if you can point us to a visitor permit or a nearby bay. Upstairs rooms at the back are useful too, as they often give the best view of a rear addition.

  1. First, we check the address for flight restrictions.
  2. We arrange any permission that is needed before we fly.
  3. On the day, we check the weather and the site before flying.
  4. The drone captures close-up photos of the coverings, chimneys, valleys and gutters.
  5. We email a written report with the photographs and our recommendations.

How to prepare

  • Agree roof access with the managing agent if it is shared
  • Point out any leaks or damp patches
  • Make sure pets are kept safely away

Advice

DIY checks: what’s safe

Keep a simple record: when leaks happen, ground-level photos and any past roof work. Share it with us when booking.

A lot can be seen from ground level. With binoculars, look for slipped or missing slates and tiles, gaps along the ridge and leaning chimneys. Please don’t climb up for a closer look.

Airspace, weather and Roehampton roofs

Roehampton is about 1 mile from the edge of the flight restriction zone around London Heliport in Battersea. The exact boundary is checked for each address before any flight, and a roof inside it needs permission before we fly. We fly a sub-250g drone and are a CAA-registered drone operator (Flyer ID and Operator ID). Flights in the open category stay under 120 m (400 ft), with the drone kept in sight.

Shop and office owners around Putney Exchange may find that large commercial roofs are often easiest to see from the air or with a thermal camera. Anyone responsible for a site like Granard Primary School will know that a view from above covers a wide roof far faster than walking it. Controlled parking zones are common in London, so mention any permit rules for Roehampton.

Roehampton is about 2 miles south-west of Fulham, in Greater London. We cover Roehampton and the rest of Greater London. Our Greater London coverage includes Roehampton. We also survey roofs in London.

What affects the price in Roehampton

We confirm the price for your survey before booking. These are the things that affect it:

  • The roof’s overall size
  • The package you choose: Basic, Standard or Premium
  • How complicated the roof is, with its valleys, chimneys and parapets
  • The number of roofs, including extensions and garages

There are three survey packages: Basic from £150, Standard from £250 and Premium from £400, with VAT included. The price for your roof depends on its size, access and what you need to know.

What we need to know

We will normally ask about:

  • Why you want a survey: buying, a leak, a storm or new work
  • The kind of building and roof involved
  • Where the property is, with the postcode
  • Any marks or damp showing indoors

We survey roofs on weekdays and at weekends. To find a date that works for you, call 07833 053749 or use the contact form.

Why act early in Roehampton

From ground level, you are guessing about most of a tall roof. A drone replaces that guesswork with clear photos. It is far easier to plan work when you can see the problem. In a London terrace or conversion, a roof defect rarely stays your problem alone: a blocked parapet gutter or slipped slate can let water into the flat below or the house next door. Dealing with it early is far less disruptive.

Prices start from £400, including VAT. Basic starts from £150, Standard from £250 and Premium from £400, VAT included, and we will tell you which fits.

FAQs for Roehampton

Can parking be tricky for a visit in Roehampton?

London parking needs a little planning, so let us know about permits, bays or a driveway when booking. That way the visit can be planned around it.

How do I find out if my home in Roehampton is listed?

Check Historic England’s online list first, then ask the council about conservation areas and any Article 4 direction. The answer matters most when a change of material is on the cards.

What will the report tell me?

It explains what we saw, what it means and what we’d suggest, backed by photos. It also says if any part of the roof couldn’t be seen safely.

Does your drone take thermal images?

Not as part of the drone survey, which is about close-up photos. For thermal imaging, look at the Premium Survey or our thermal roof survey, and its findings are checked with moisture readings.

Does someone need to be in?

If the survey includes the loft or the inside of the building, someone needs to let us in. Access is agreed with you when booking.

How do I arrange a drone roof survey in Roehampton?

Simply ring 07833 053749 or drop us an email. We will ask a few questions, confirm the price and agree a date, weekday or weekend.

What if it is windy or raining on the day?

The conditions on the day decide whether a flight goes ahead. Strong wind and heavy rain both rule out flying. We’ll talk through the options if the day turns bad.

Roof by roof

Steep slate and tile slopes

Steep slopes are hard to inspect safely on foot. A drone photographs them closely from a safe position.

Chimney stacks

Leaning stacks and loose pots are easier to judge from above. Each defect is photographed for the report.
