Drone roof surveys for homes and businesses in Rosehill
Our price is from £400, including VAT. A drone inspection, where applicable, is also part of our Premium Survey, with a same-day report, structural analysis and an in-person consultation. It also includes a follow-up after 12 months. If a drone won’t help on your roof, we’ll say so. You get a written report with the close-up photos from the flight. We’re often asked to look into eroded pointing on a chimney stack and lead work pulling away at abutments, on fragile roofs, flat roofs on upper floors and large and complex roofs.
London roofs sit shoulder to shoulder in terraces and blocks, which makes care around neighbours part of the job. Images are taken to show the roof we are surveying, with care for neighbours’ privacy. Mention access, height and anything unusual about the building when booking. The extra view helps most on steep slopes, tall stacks and rear additions.
The written findings come by email, ready to forward to whoever needs them. Basic reports come within 48 hours, Standard within 24–48 hours and Premium on the day.

Flying and imaging in Rosehill
The drone we use is under 250g, flown by a CAA-registered operator with a Flyer ID and Operator ID. Flights in the open category stay under 120 m (400 ft), with the drone kept in sight. With Nonsuch Mansion about 2.6 miles south-west, Rosehill sits in an area with a long building history. Older homes in the wider area often have features worth a closer look, like lead valleys, tall stacks and roofs that have been patched over the years, and a listed home or one in a conservation area may need consent for changes of material.
As a London address, Rosehill can be tricky for parking: a visitor permit or a nearby bay makes the day easier. If you look after a shop, office or commercial unit, for instance near Centrale Croydon, big, flat commercial roofs are where photos from the air and thermal images help most.
Rosehill is about 3 miles south-east of Wimbledon, in Greater London. If you’re in Rosehill, booking works exactly as it does anywhere else: a call or an email, a price, then a date. Our area takes in places right across Greater London, from the larger towns to small villages. London is in our area too.
Every address in SM5, SM4 and SM1 is covered for drone roof surveys, from the main roads to the quietest streets. You will find streets such as Kelso Road, Selby Road and Quarr Road, and we cover them all. Neighbouring places we cover for drone roof surveys include St Helier (1 mile south-west), Benhilton (1 mile south-west), The Wrythe (1 mile south-east), Carshalton (1 mile south-east) and Sutton (1 mile south). We also work in nearby towns like London (9 miles north-east), City of Westminster (9 miles north), Marylebone (9 miles north), Kensington (8 miles north), St Pancras (10 miles north) and Shoreditch (11 miles north-east).

Surveys for landlords and agents in Rosehill
Where a roof is shared: access has to be agreed with whoever owns or manages the building. Tell us about it when you book and we’ll plan the visit with that in mind.
Buyers’ agents can book surveys on behalf of their clients. The report is emailed, so it can go straight to your client, photographs included.
Do you need a drone roof survey in Rosehill?
Hidden gutters and valleys are easy to overlook. Debris collects where nobody looks, until water overflows inside. From above, they’re easy to see.
People normally book a survey when they’ve noticed something like this:
- Ridge pieces that have lifted
- Cracked flaunching or loose chimney pots
- Coverings that have slipped high up on the roof
- Slates or tiles shifted by high winds
If yours is one of the older homes in the streets near St Peter's Church, older roofs can be steep and hard to see from the street, which is where photos from the air and thermal images help.

Different roofs, different checks
Large commercial roofs
Many commercial roofs have fragile sheets or roof lights. With a drone, nobody has to go near them.
Ridges and hips
Ridges may be bedded in mortar or mechanically fixed. We record what we see of their condition.
The survey, step by step
We photograph the roof as we go, so you can see in the report what we found and where. Close-ups come from the safest viewpoint available. Most surveys take about 1–2 hours at a house, including the airspace and weather checks before take-off. Many London properties are flats or terraces with no side access, so the back of the roof is often seen from upstairs windows, from inside or, where a flight is allowed, from the air. If the building has a managing agent or access rules, tell us as you book.
- We start by checking the airspace and any restrictions at your address.
- Where a flight restriction zone or restricted area applies, we seek permission first.
- On the day, we check the weather and the site before flying.
- The sub-250g drone takes close-up photographs of the roof, kept in sight throughout.
- You receive a written report with photos and recommendations.
Before we arrive
- Point out any leaks or damp patches
- Buyers: confirm access with the estate agent or seller
- Leave side gates unlocked
Getting a price
If you have photos of the roof, send them over. Pictures from the ground or a window are fine. To send them or to book, ring 07833 053749 or send us an email.
Advice
Why get it checked now?
A drone survey disturbs nothing on the roof. Fragile slates and tiles stay as they are, so the survey does not create new problems. London’s older roofs frequently have bitumen felt underlay or none at all, so a slipped slate can soon mean water inside. Left alone, that means wet timbers and plaster, which is a far bigger job than the roof fault itself.
Our price is from £400, including VAT. The final price depends on the size and height of the roof, access and which survey you book.

Before and after the survey
Over many surveys, some simple habits stand out as worth the effort:
- Clear the loft hatch so we can check inside too
- Let us know about any leaks or concerns
- Allow time for permission if you are in a flight restriction zone
- Tell next door if the drone will be near their property
There is a follow-up after 12 months with the Premium Survey. It helps you see how the roof has changed over the year.
After a storm, check from the garden and the street. Debris in the garden is a sign to act on. A drone survey can show what has shifted.
Rosehill: your questions answered
Is parking a problem for a survey in Rosehill?
It depends on the street. If Rosehill has controlled parking where you are, a visitor permit is the easiest answer.
Does a conservation area affect roof work in Rosehill?
Historic England’s list shows listed buildings, and the local council can tell you about conservation areas. Listed building consent is needed for changes that affect a listed building’s special interest, and conservation areas can limit changes of roofing material.
Can you tell me if my roof has asbestos?
No. We don’t carry out asbestos surveys or testing. If we see materials that could contain asbestos, such as cement roof sheets or soffits on buildings from before 2000, we flag them, and recommend a specialist asbestos surveyor checks them before they’re disturbed.
How much does a drone roof survey cost in Rosehill?
Prices start from £400, including VAT. What you pay for your roof depends on its size, height, access and the package, and it’s agreed before booking.
Can you give me structural calculations?
No. Visible signs such as deflection or sagging are recorded, but calculations and an engineer’s opinion are outside what we do. If one is needed, the report says so.
Can a drone see inside my loft?
No. It sees only the outer surfaces. Leaks, damp timbers and condensation often show first from inside, so we check the loft too where we can.
What do I do with the report?
The report comes by email, and you decide the next step: raise it with a seller, send it to an insurer, brief a roofer or share it with a managing agent.
