Drone roof survey in Twydall, Medway
Close-up drone photographs of roofs that are hard to reach in Twydall, carried out by an experienced roof surveyor. Every survey comes with a written report and photos.

- Loose ridge and hip tiles
- Moss building up on slopes and in gutters
What a drone roof survey does not cover
In fairness, a roof survey has limits:
- A flight on a day when the weather is not safe
- Whether the roof structure meets design loads
- Neighbouring roofs the owner hasn’t asked us to survey
If you’re not sure which survey you need, phone 07833 053749 or send us an email and we will give you a straight answer. The full list of what we check.

Drone roof survey in Twydall
Before any flight, we check the airspace. Near protected airports such as Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and Luton, flight restriction zones mean permission is needed first. Parts of central London have restricted areas too, where NATS permission is needed. If permission isn’t given, we inspect by other means and explain why. Prisons have their own drone restriction zones too. We survey chimney stacks, fragile roofs and tall and steep roofs, and the problems we are asked to look at most are blocked valleys and parapet gutters and cracked flaunching or loose chimney pots.
Around Twydall, plenty of roofs are low enough to see partly from the garden or the street. Chimney tops, valleys and rear slopes are where close-up or thermal images help most. Both depend on the weather on the day, as calm, dry conditions suit both. Even so, a close-up image often shows wear on ridges and flashings that a view from the ground misses.
The written findings come by email, ready to forward to whoever needs them. Basic reports come within 48 hours, Standard within 24–48 hours and Premium on the day.

Why it is worth a survey now in Twydall
From ground level, you are guessing about most of a tall roof. A drone replaces that guesswork with clear photographs, slope by slope. It’s far easier to plan work when you can see the problem. Around Twydall, leaves and moss in gutters lead to overflowing water and damp walls, particularly where trees overhang. It’s easy to sort the cause early and slow to dry a damp wall.
To find out what your survey will cost, phone 07833 053749 or drop us an email and let us know about the roof. We will confirm the figure before booking.

For landlords and managing agents
Surveys can also be booked by buyers’ agents acting for a client. Reports are emailed, so they’re easy to pass on.
Where a roof is shared: we need access agreed with the building owner or managing agent. Let us know about it when booking and we will plan the visit with that in mind.
What we are asked to look at in Twydall
From the pavement, most of a tall roof is out of sight. Rear slopes, valleys and the tops of chimneys are hidden. Faults there can go unnoticed for years.
Common reasons to book include:
- Cracked flaunching or loose chimney pots
- Flat roofs on upper floors that hold water
- Gaps where slates or tiles have gone
- Lead work pulling away at abutments
If you live in an older home near Holy Trinity Church, thin or patchy insulation under an old roof often shows up clearly on a thermal image.
Before you book any roof surveyor

- Whether you get a written report with photos
- How long they’ve been surveying roofs
- What they will not be able to tell you
Tips that help
A little preparation and a few simple habits help. Some pointers:
- Check the loft can be reached
- Book early if you’re near an airport
- Let neighbours know about the flight if your roof is shared
- Tell us the exact address as you book
The report gives any roofer you ask to quote a clear brief. The photos show the location and extent of every problem.
Have high or hard-to-reach roofs surveyed every few years. Regular photos make changes easy to spot, so small faults are dealt with early.
How the survey works
Time on site depends on the size and shape of the roof; as a rough guide, the survey takes about one to two hours on an ordinary house, or half a day or so for a commercial building. If you have questions on the day, just ask. In a smaller place like Twydall, parking is seldom the issue; lanes, gates and long drives are worth mentioning. On bungalows and lower roofs, much can be seen from the ground, with the loft showing the underside, while taller roofs may need other vantage points or the drone where it applies.
- You give us the address and tell us about the roof.
- Any flight restriction at the address is checked, with permission requested if required.
- Before take-off, the wind, the weather and the launch spot are checked.
- Close-up photos are taken of each slope, chimney, valley and gutter, with the drone always in view.
- You receive a written report with the photos and our recommendations.
Before we arrive
- If it isn’t your property yet, arrange access through the agent
- Point out any leaks or damp patches
- Agree roof access with the managing agent if it’s shared

Twydall questions
Will you come out to Twydall?
We do. Villages and rural addresses get the same survey as a town house.
Can you fly a drone over a roof in Twydall?
The answer turns on the exact location and the conditions on the day. Every flight is checked against the Drone Safety Map first, including zones around airports and prisons. A small drone cannot fly safely in strong wind or heavy rain.
How much is a survey?
Drone roof survey starts from £400, including VAT. You will know the price for the job before booking. For a price, phone 07833 053749 or email us.
How soon will I get the report?
Report times are set by the package. Basic is within 48 hours, Standard is 24–48 hours and Premium is the same day. If you have a deadline, such as an exchange date, tell us when booking.
What do I do with the report?
You’ll receive the report by email, and you decide the next step: raise it with a seller, send it to an insurer, brief a roofer or share it with a managing agent.
Can you give me structural calculations?
No. Visible signs such as deflection or sagging are recorded, but we do not provide calculations or an engineer’s opinion. The report will say if you need an engineer.
Are you insured?
Our cover is professional indemnity plus public liability, and details are available on request.
