Drone roof survey in Vange

We carry out drone roof surveys in Vange and across London and South East England, subject to airspace checks and the weather. We fly seven days a week. Every address is checked for airspace restrictions first. You get a written report with close-up photos and recommendations. To check whether your roof suits a drone survey, call 07833 053749 or use the contact form with the address. We survey tall and steep roofs, valleys and parapet gutters and fragile roofs, and people most often book us about lifted or split lead flashings and slates or tiles shifted by high winds.

Around Vange, a good many roofs are low enough to see partly from the garden or the street. The parts you cannot see, such as rear slopes, valleys and chimney tops, are where a drone or thermal camera adds detail. The forecast decides the day. Even so, a close-up image frequently shows wear on ridges and flashings that a view from the ground misses.

It isn’t only a list of defects. It explains what we found, why it matters and what we recommend, so you can plan your next steps.

What a drone roof survey looks like in Vange

Vange lies within about 4 miles of the sea, where wind off the sea can be strong. The weather on the day decides whether a flight goes ahead, as a small drone cannot fly safely in strong wind or a downpour. Every flight is checked against the Drone Safety Map first.

Anyone responsible for a site like Ryedene Primary and Nursery School will know that thermal images can show where wet insulation sits under a big flat roof. If you run a business near Eastgate Shopping Centre, a commercial roof can be photographed from above without anyone walking on it. If you own one of the older houses in the streets near St Chad, thin or patchy insulation under an old roof often shows up clearly on a thermal image.

Vange is about 1 mile south-east of Basildon, in Essex. Roofs in Vange get the same thorough look as anywhere else in Essex. Vange is one of the places in Essex we cover. For surveys nearby, see our Chelmsford page.

We work across the SS16, SS14 and SS13 postcode area for drone roof surveys. You’ll find streets such as High Road, Beech Road and London Road, all of which we cover. Tips from our surveys

Small things make a difference, both for the survey and for the roof itself. Some pointers:

  • Book early if you’re near an airport
  • Let us know about any leaks or concerns
  • Move stored items away from the hatch
  • Be ready to move the date if the weather turns

With the Premium Survey, the report arrives the same day. It includes the drone photos where a flight was possible, alongside the other checks in the package.

Have high or hard-to-reach roofs surveyed every few years. Comparing surveys shows what is wearing, so small faults are dealt with early.

What we look for on each type of roof

Valleys and parapet gutters

Blocked outlets in hidden gutters cause many leaks. Outlets and any debris around them are photographed.

Flat roofs on tall buildings

Flat roof coverings wear out at different rates. Photos show how the covering is wearing.

For landlords and managing agents

We also survey roofs for businesses and commercial landlords, from shops and offices to industrial units. Larger roofs take longer, so they’re priced to suit.

With a portfolio of properties, you can book surveys for several addresses. To arrange surveys for several addresses, phone 07833 053749 or send us an email.

What affects the price in Vange

What a survey costs depends on the time and equipment it needs. That comes down to:

  • How many separate roofs there are, like extensions, dormers and garages
  • The shape of the roof and its details
  • Whether it’s a home or a commercial building
  • The roof’s overall size

Every price we give includes VAT, and the written report is part of the package. Drone roof survey starts from £400, including VAT. Size, height and access decide where your roof falls.

What to tell us when you get in touch

If you can, have these to hand when you get in touch:

  • The property’s address and postcode
  • Any deadline, such as an exchange date
  • Any marks or damp showing indoors
  • Pictures from the garden or a window, if you have them

Once you know what you need, phone 07833 053749 or email us. From there it is a case of choosing a package, agreeing the price and fixing a day, weekday or weekend.

Questions from Vange

Is drone flying allowed in Vange?

The answer turns on the exact location and the conditions on the day. Every flight is checked against the Drone Safety Map first. Strong wind or a downpour also stops a small drone flying.

Do you cover smaller places like Vange?

Yes, Vange is on our map. Villages and rural addresses get the same survey as a town house.

Does this replace a RICS home survey?

No. We look at the roof, not the whole building, so it’s not a RICS Level 2 or Level 3 survey. Many buyers have both.

What does a roof survey cost?

Our price is from £400, including VAT. We confirm the price for your survey before booking. For a price, call 07833 053749 or drop us an email.

What happens after the survey?

We email you the written report with photographs and recommendations. It is yours to share with a seller, insurer, roofer or managing agent, whichever applies.

How do I arrange a drone roof survey in Vange?

Just call 07833 053749 or use the contact form with the address. We will ask a few questions, confirm the price and agree a date, weekday or weekend.

Do you survey roofs on blocks of flats?

Yes. Shared roofs just need a little more planning. Tell us about it as you book and we will explain what’s needed.

How it works

There is not much for you to do on the day. Show us any stains, drips or problem areas you know about, and we will take it from there. The survey itself takes about 1–2 hours at a house, including the airspace and weather checks before take-off. A visit to a smaller place like Vange is no different on the day: outside, inside and from any safe vantage point, in that order. It’s useful to show us anything you’ve already noticed.

  1. You give us the address so we can check the airspace.
  2. We arrange any permission that is needed before we fly.
  3. On the day, we check the weather and the site before flying.
  4. We fly the drone close to the roof to photograph it in detail, always in sight.
  5. We email a written report with the photographs and our recommendations.

Before the survey

  • If you are buying, let the agent know when we’re coming
  • Make a note of anything you’d like us to look at
  • Show us where any leaks or stains appear

How to book

Every survey is priced before it’s booked, so you know the cost up front. Our price is from £400, including VAT. For a price for your roof, phone 07833 053749 or email us.

Advice

What you can safely check yourself

A lot can be seen from ground level. With binoculars, look for slipped or missing slates and tiles, gaps along the ridge and leaning chimneys. Please do not climb up for a closer look.

After heavy rain, check ceilings and the tops of walls for new stains. Photograph them and note the date, as it helps a surveyor trace the cause.
