Lee Chapel Drone Roof Survey
A careful look at the roof at your property in Lee Chapel, with photos and a written report.
- Slipped or missing slates on a high roof
- Hidden gutters full of leaves
- Moss building up on slopes and in gutters
When to book a survey in Lee Chapel
Strong winds can lift slates, tiles and ridge pieces. Damage on a high or steep roof is hard to judge from the garden. Close-up photos make it clear what has been disturbed.
A survey can pick up problems like:
- Ponding and splits on a high flat roof
- Loose ridge and hip tiles
- Storm damage on steep or tall roofs
- Tired mortar and pots at the top of a stack
If you live in an older home near St Martin of Tours, steep roofs, tall chimneys and hidden valleys can be hard to see from the ground, and that is where a view by drone or thermal camera helps.
Before you book anyone
- Do they have a CAA Flyer ID and Operator ID for drone work?
- Whether VAT is in the quoted price
- How they plan to inspect the roof safely
- Whether you can ask questions once you have the report
Drone roof surveys for homes and businesses in Lee Chapel
Drone surveys suit tall houses, blocks of flats, steep roofs and large commercial roofs. They’re useful where walking on the roof could damage it or is not safe, such as old slate, clay tiles or cement sheets. You get close-up views without anyone setting foot on the roof. Before the visit, we check the address for any airspace restrictions that apply. We will tell you if another approach would work better. We survey fragile roofs, chimney stacks and flat roofs on upper floors, and common reasons people get in touch are lifted or split lead flashings and ridge pieces that have lifted.
Older cottages and houses around Lee Chapel may have little insulation, and some have extensions with their own roofs. A thermal image can show where heat is escaping or where moisture may be trapped, and drone photos show the roof surfaces themselves. Findings are checked with moisture readings where needed. Results depend on the weather, so the visit is planned around the forecast.
It is not only a list of defects. For each finding, it explains what it is, why it matters and what we’d recommend, so you can plan your next steps.

What affects the price in Lee Chapel
Our packages start from £150, with VAT included. The price for your roof depends on:
- Whether thermal imaging or a drone is needed
- How tall the building is and how easy the roof is to see
- House, block, shop or office
- How many separate roofs there are, such as extensions, dormers and garages
Prices quoted always include VAT, and the written report is part of the package. Prices start from £400, including VAT. Where your roof sits in the range depends on its size, height and access.
Booking your survey
A little information up front helps. Please include:
- Access details, such as a loft hatch or a shared roof

- What kind of property and roof it is

Practical tips
Getting the most from a drone roof survey starts before we arrive and carries on afterwards. Some tips:
- Expect us to rearrange if it is too windy or wet
- Let us know about any leaks or concerns
- Clear the loft hatch so we can check inside too
- Clear a spot on the drive or lawn
With the Premium Survey, the report arrives the same day. Drone photos are included where we could fly, alongside the other checks in the package.
Keep the loft space ventilated. Poor airflow lets condensation build up, and it is something only an inside check will show. Check insulation doesn’t block the airflow.
Checking the roof from the ground
If you have a loft with safe access, take a look inside. Take a torch and only step on boards or joists, and look for staining, damp timber or daylight coming through.
During heavy rain, look at the gutters from ground level or a window. Water spilling over the edge can be a sign of a blockage or a gutter that has dropped.
What happens if roof problems are left?
Small defects on a high roof grow with each storm. Finding them now means less to put right. Around Lee Chapel, leaves and moss in gutters lead to overflowing water and damp walls, especially where trees overhang. It is easy to sort the cause early and slow to dry a damp wall.
The Premium Survey includes thermal imaging and drone inspection where applicable, which starts from £400, inc. VAT. We will tell you which package suits the questions you have.

Questions from Lee Chapel
Does a conservation area affect roof work in Lee Chapel?
Start with Historic England’s list for listing and your council for conservation areas. Either can affect what roof work is allowed, so it is worth checking before planning any.
Will you come out to Lee Chapel?
Yes, Lee Chapel is covered. We work right across London and the South East, and smaller places are part of that. Longer journeys are simply planned ahead of time.
Are you insured?
Professional indemnity and public liability insurance cover our surveys. If you need details for a managing agent or a building owner, just ask.
What if my home is near an airport?
That depends on where the roof is. Inside a flight restriction zone, we need permission first, which can add time. Book early if you think you may be affected.
Is your drone operator registered?
We are. The CAA has issued us a Flyer ID and an Operator ID, and the drone itself is under 250g, kept within sight on every flight.
Will the drone show what’s under the tiles?
No. It sees only the outer surfaces. The underside tells us things the drone can’t, so we check the loft too where we can.
How long does a drone roof survey take?
Allow roughly 1–2 hours on an ordinary house, and more on a big or complicated roof. We’ll give you an idea of timing as you book.
Airspace, weather and Lee Chapel roofs
Lee Chapel lies within about 5 miles of the sea, and wind near the sea can be strong. The weather on the day decides whether a flight goes ahead, as a small drone cannot fly safely in strong wind or heavy rain. Every flight is checked against the Drone Safety Map first.
Anyone responsible for a site like St Anne Line Catholic Junior School will know that big roofs are where photos from the air and thermal images show the most at once. Shop and office owners around Eastgate Shopping Centre may find that a commercial roof can be photographed from above without anyone walking on it.

How it works
Every roof is different; as a rough guide, the survey takes about one to two hours for most homes, with the pre-flight checks included, and longer for big commercial roofs. If you have questions on the day, just ask. A visit to Lee Chapel is planned like any other: the time, the access and where to park are agreed beforehand. Visits can be on weekdays, Saturdays or Sundays. Let us know about any garages, outbuildings or extensions you want included.
- First, we check the address for flight restrictions.
- We arrange any permission that is needed before we fly.
- On the day, we check the weather and the site before flying.
- The drone captures close-up photos of the coverings, chimneys, valleys and gutters.
- We email a written report with the photos and our recommendations.
Preparing for the visit
- For flats, check roof access has been agreed
- Show us where any leaks or stains appear
