Our roof survey service in DA6
We inspect whatever is safely visible: from ground level, from windows, from the roof space and from the roof where conditions allow. Premium adds thermal imaging, plus a drone inspection where it applies, which helps with tall or steep roofs. All we need from you is access to the property and the loft. Everything we see is photographed for the report. We survey clay and concrete tiles, flat roofs and ridges, hips and valleys, and people most often book us about condensation or damp timbers in the loft and worn or blocked valleys.
There isn’t much for you to do on the day. Point out anything you’ve noticed, such as stains, drips or loose pieces, and we will get on with the inspection. A typical survey takes about 1–2 hours for an ordinary house roof, and longer if there are extensions, dormers or several chimneys.
- We start by hearing what you’d like checked and why.
- We agree a date, on a weekday, Saturday or Sunday.
- We check the roof from each safe vantage point, inside and out.
- We check the coverings, ridges, hips, valleys, flashings, chimneys and gutters, and photograph what we find.
- Your report arrives by email, with recommendations prioritised by urgency.
What you will pay
Roof survey starts from £150, including VAT. What you pay depends on the size and height of the roof, access and the package you choose.

Landmarks near Upton
Locally, jobs take us to homes and businesses close to Bexleyheath Academy, Trinity Baptist Church and Upland Primary School, among other places. You’ll also find St Catherine's Catholic School (1 mile east), The Golden Lion pub (less than half a mile south) and Danson Park (0.8 miles west). Upton has its own railway station: Bexleyheath station. A little further out are Bexley Hospital (under half a mile south-west) and Broadway Shopping Centre (0.5 miles south-east). For a walk, there’s Summer Hill and Wansunt Pit.
Roof surveys across DA6: local notes
In DA6, our roof surveys work takes in owners, landlords and managing agents, in Welling, Bexley and Bexleyheath and well beyond. Every report comes with photographs and written recommendations.
Our surveys reach from London out to Kent, Sussex, Surrey, Essex, the Thames Valley, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, and DA6 is well within that. We survey on any day of the week.
Upton: If you look after a shop, office or commercial unit, for example near Broadway Shopping Centre, a written record of the roof’s condition helps you plan maintenance rather than react to leaks. Take a building like Upland Primary School: long gutter runs and wide roofs on a building that size are worth checking on a regular cycle.
What this survey cannot tell you
In fairness, a roof survey has limits:
- An exact number of years the roof has left
- Defects hidden under coverings or inside walls without opening up
- A full building survey of the property
Landlord and commercial surveys in DA6
A roof problem in a let property affects your tenants as well as the building. A survey shows what needs attention, so you can plan the work.
Buyers’ agents can book surveys on behalf of their clients. The report is emailed, so it can go straight to your client, photos included.
What affects the price in DA6
Survey packages start from £150, with VAT included. The price for your roof depends on:
- If the survey needs thermal imaging or a drone
- The roof’s overall size
- The number of roofs, including extensions and garages
- Which survey package you book
A Basic Survey starts from £150, inc. VAT. Standard is from £250 and Premium from £400, both with VAT included. You’ll know the price for your survey before booking.
Helping us price your survey
If you can, have these to hand when you get in touch:
- Any deadline, like an exchange date
- Why you want a survey: buying, a leak, a storm or new work
- Your postcode, so we can check access and travel
- Any stains, drips or damp patches you’ve seen indoors
Getting a price is simple: just call 07833 053749 or email us and give us a few details about the property and we’ll point you to the right survey. We confirm the price before anything is booked.
Roof by roof
Concrete interlocking tiles
Concrete interlocking tiles are common on post-war and newer homes. They’re heavy and hard-wearing, but their surfaces weather over the years, and they can crack.
Flat roof coverings
Repeated coatings can hide what’s underneath. If the covering would need opening up to know more, we say so.
What happens if roof problems are left?
Leaks rarely show up right away. Damp spreads through insulation and timber before anything shows below. From inside the roof space, we can often spot it sooner.
Before booking any surveyor
- When you will get the report
- Which viewpoints they use to see the roof
- What the report includes, and whether it has photographs
- What they will not be able to tell you
FAQs for DA6
How much does a roof survey cost in DA6?
Our price is from £150, including VAT. You’ll know the price for the job before booking. To get a price, phone 07833 053749 or drop us an email.
Can you survey at the weekend?
Surveys can be booked for any day of the week: weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Just let us know the days that suit you.
Can you survey a roof I share with a neighbour?
Yes, we can. We survey the parts of the roof you have access to. Where a defect looks to be on the neighbour’s side, the report says so.
Is your survey a structural engineer’s report?
No. If we see signs that need an engineer, such as serious sagging, we’ll say so. Our survey is not a structural engineer’s report.
Does the weather affect the survey?
Light rain is normally fine; heavy rain and wind are different. Strong wind or a downpour can make access unsafe and ground a drone, so we’d move the date with you.
Do you need to get into the loft?
Where it’s relevant to the survey and there is safe access, yes. A clear path to the hatch helps.
Can you survey a shared roof?
Yes, if whoever owns or manages the building agrees access. On a shared roof we can only inspect the parts we’re allowed to reach.
