Thermal roof survey in Cyprus
Our Premium Survey, from £400, brings together a full roof inspection and thermal imaging. It also includes a drone inspection where it applies, a structural analysis and a same-day report. There’s an in-person consultation as well, plus a follow-up 12 months later. To book, just ring 07833 053749 or send us an email with the address and what you’ve noticed. For big commercial roofs, we quote on size and access. We survey loft conversions, insulated roof spaces and pitched roof slopes, and common reasons people get in touch are damp patches with no obvious cause and leaks that are hard to trace.
London airspace is busy and tightly controlled: there are flight restriction zones around Heathrow, London City and London Heliport, and restricted areas over Hyde Park, the City of London and the Isle of Dogs. Every address in Cyprus is checked before any drone flight, and permission is never taken for granted.
We keep jargon out of it: where something needs attention, it says so plainly.

What we look for on each type of roof
Parapets, valleys and junctions
Water often gets in where roofs meet walls, parapets or valley gutters. Thermal imaging can help show damp patterns around them.
Loft insulation
The difference is clearest when the home is heated and it’s cold out. Our report notes how the conditions affected the images.
The survey, step by step
Safety comes first on every visit. We inspect whatever is safely visible, and anything we cannot see is noted in the report. The survey typically takes an hour or two at a typical home, with bigger or more complicated roofs taking longer. Surveys in Cyprus can be booked for any day of the week. It helps if you can point us to a visitor permit or a nearby bay, and to clear a path to the loft hatch. Upstairs rooms at the back are useful too, as they often give the best view of a rear addition.
- We start with the roof, its history and any signs of damp or heat loss.
- We check the conditions and note how they may affect the images.
- We inspect the roof and take thermal images during the same visit.
- Moisture readings are used to check what the camera shows.
- The Premium report reaches you the same day, and we go through it with you in person.
Before we arrive
- Leave a clear route to the loft
- Jot down any questions you want answered
- Note where any stains or damp appear

How we price thermal roof surveys
Prices always include VAT. The things that change the price are:
- How complicated the roof is, with its valleys, chimneys and parapets
- Whether it is a home or a commercial building
- Which survey package you book
- Any need for thermal images or a drone flight
The cost of a survey depends on the roof: its size, its height, how many sections it has and how safely it can be seen. Prices start from £400, including VAT.
Getting in touch
Getting the details right at the start saves time. It’s useful to include:
- The style of property, from a terrace to a block
- What made you get in touch
- Photos of the roof, taken safely from the ground or a window
- Your postcode, so we can check access and travel
Unsure which package suits your roof? The easiest way is to phone 07833 053749 or email us and describe the roof and what’s worrying you. We’ll talk you through the options and what they cost.
What a thermal roof survey looks like in Cyprus
The flight restriction zone around London City Airport covers Cyprus, or comes right up to its edge. Where the drone is part of the survey, we ask the airport for permission first, and only fly if it is given. Further from the centre, London’s housing takes in interwar semis with hipped roofs in clay or concrete tiles as well as slate-roofed terraces. On a semi of that age, the small roofs over the bays, the hip tiles and any later dormer each need their own look. Many roofs like these can’t be judged properly from the pavement, and that’s where a view from above or a thermal image earns its place.
Anyone responsible for a site like Winsor Primary School will know that a view from above covers a wide roof far faster than walking it. As a London address, Cyprus can be tricky for parking: a visitor permit or a nearby bay makes the day easier. Hotels and guest houses near Cyprus can’t easily close rooms for a leak, so it’s worth knowing the roof’s condition.
Cyprus is about 2 miles east of Canning Town, in Greater London. In Cyprus, as across Greater London, every roof gets the same careful survey. We cover towns and villages across Greater London. For surveys nearby, see our London page.
Here we cover the E6 and E16 postcode area for thermal roof surveys. Local streets include Strait Road, Harper Road and Trader Road, and we cover them all. If you’re just outside Cyprus, we cover Beckton (1 mile north-east), North Woolwich (1 mile south), Royal Docks (1 mile west), East Ham (1 mile north) and Custom House (1 mile west). Further out, we also cover London (7 miles west), City of Westminster (9 miles west), Marylebone (9 miles west), Kensington (11 miles west), St Pancras (8 miles west) and Shoreditch (6 miles west).

In Cyprus, that means homes and buildings near Oasis Academy Silvertown, London Design and Engineering UTC and Beckton District Park and the streets around them. The nearest railway station is Woolwich station, roughly 1.3 miles south. Well-known places in the area include Greenwich Castle (3.6 miles south-west) and Albert Dock Seamen's Hospital (1.1 miles west). For a walk, there’s Gilbert's Pit.
Common questions in Cyprus
Is parking a problem for a survey in Cyprus?
It can be, so it helps to tell us about permits, visitor bays or off-street space when you book. That way the visit can be planned around it.
Is drone flying allowed in Cyprus?
Normally it comes down to two things: the airspace at the address and the weather. Cyprus is inside, or right on the edge of, the flight restriction zone around London City Airport. Before any flight there, we ask the airport for permission, and the flight only goes ahead if it is given. Across London there are restriction zones around Heathrow, London City and London Heliport, plus restricted areas over Hyde Park, the City of London and the Isle of Dogs. Every London address is checked against them before a flight. High wind or heavy rain also stops a small drone flying.
Do you survey roofs on blocks of flats?
Yes, if the freeholder or managing agent agrees access. On a shared roof we can only inspect the parts we are allowed to reach, and the report makes that clear.
How experienced are you?
Over 5,000 surveys so far, over more than 20 years, with 98% customer satisfaction.
What insurance do you have?
Our surveys are covered by professional indemnity and public liability insurance. If you need details for a managing agent or a building owner, just ask.
Which days do you carry out surveys?
Surveys run seven days a week. To arrange a date, ring 07833 053749 or use the contact form.
Can a thermal camera see water?
Thermal imaging shows temperature rather than water. Wet insulation holds heat longer than dry, so it can stand out, and moisture readings are used to check it.
What this survey can’t tell you
Some things can’t be seen without opening up the roof, so a survey has limits:
- Readings unaffected by sun, shade or reflections
- A formal energy assessment
- Confirming water without moisture readings
If you are not sure which survey you need, phone 07833 053749 or send us an email and we’ll give you a straight answer. What our survey covers.
What we check
- Loft conversions
- Flat roofs
- Insulated roof spaces
- Commercial roofs
- Ceilings below the roof
- Pitched roof slopes

Why act early in Cyprus
Thermal images can suggest the extent of wet areas without cutting into the roof. That helps you and your roofer decide what really needs replacing. In Cyprus, as across London, an overflowing gutter soaks the wall below, which can lead to damp inside. A small blockage left for a few winters becomes a damp problem.

Tips that help
Here are a few things we’d tell any owner, before and after a survey:
- Leave the roof to people with safe access
- Check outlets after heavy rain
- Heat the home normally on the days before
- Keep a record of when stains appear
The report explains the conditions on the day and how they affected the images. That way you know how much weight to give each finding.
Consider a repeat survey after major work on the roof in suitable weather.
