Drone roof survey in Eastcote
A drone can see more than your roof, so we take care. We keep the camera on the roof we’re surveying, not on neighbouring homes and gardens. If your roof is joined to a neighbour’s, it’s worth letting them know about the visit. We inspect only what the owner has asked us to. Each flight is kept short and stays focused on the roof we’re there to survey. If you are worried about slipped or missing slates on a high roof and loose ridge and hip tiles, we can find out what’s behind it, whatever the roof.
In London’s terraces and conversions, roofs are packed close together, which makes care around neighbours part of the job. We take care to focus on the roof we’ve been asked to look at, in Eastcote as anywhere. Mention access, height and anything unusual about the building when you book. The extra view helps most on steep slopes, tall stacks and rear additions.
The written findings come by email, easy to pass on to a roofer, an agent or an insurer. Basic reports come within 48 hours, Standard within 24–48 hours and Premium on the day.

Leave it or get it looked at?
Photographing a roof from the air does not touch it. Fragile slates and tiles stay as they are, so you see the roof exactly as it is. London’s older roofs often have bitumen felt underlay or none at all, so once the slates or flashings let water past, little stops it reaching ceilings. Left alone, that means wet timbers and plaster, which is a far bigger job than the roof fault itself.
Drone roof survey starts from £400, including VAT. The final price depends on the size and height of the roof, access and the package you choose.

Flying and imaging in Eastcote
RAF Northolt is about 3 miles away, so we check the Drone Safety Map for restrictions before any flight. Across London there are restriction zones around Heathrow, London City and London Heliport, plus restricted areas over Hyde Park, the City of London and the Isle of Dogs. Every London address is checked against them before a flight.
Anyone responsible for a site like Cannon Lane Primary School will know that thermal images can show where wet insulation sits under a big flat roof. The streets around a church like St Lawrence are often among the oldest in a place, and if you own one of the older houses nearby, thin or patchy insulation under an old roof often shows up clearly on a thermal image.
Eastcote is about 1 mile north-east of Ruislip, in Greater London. We survey roofs in Eastcote and the rest of Greater London, as part of our work across London and the South East. Eastcote is one of the places in Greater London where we work for drone roof surveys. There’s also a page for London.
Drone roof surveys in HA5, HA4 and HA2 are booked the same way as anywhere else. That includes homes and businesses on Hill Road, Bridle Road and Cannon Lane and the roads around them. We also cover the places around Eastcote: Pinner (1 mile north), Roxbourne (1 mile south-east), Pinner Green (1 mile north), Rayners Lane (1 mile south-east) and North Harrow (1 mile east). Further out, we also cover London (14 miles south-east), City of Westminster (11 miles south-east), Marylebone (11 miles south-east), Kensington (10 miles south-east), St Pancras (12 miles east) and Shoreditch (14 miles east).
Local landmarks in Eastcote
Around Eastcote, our work takes us to homes and buildings near Pinner High School, The Whittington pub and Heathfield School and the streets around them. Eastcote’s nearest station is Headstone Lane station, about 1.9 miles north-east. Other landmarks nearby include Northwood and Pinner Cottage Hospital (1.7 miles north-west) and St. George's Shopping Centre (2.2 miles east). Not far away are Horse Shoe Bay and Islip Manor Meadows.
Rented homes, blocks and businesses
We also survey roofs for businesses and commercial landlords, including offices, shops and units. Bigger roofs take more time, so they’re priced to suit.
Shared roofs need a little more planning: access has to be agreed with whoever owns or manages the building. Mention it when you get in touch and we will plan the visit with that in mind.
Honest limits
Some things cannot be seen without opening up the roof, so a survey has limits:
- Anything inside the loft or under the coverings
- Roofs and gardens beyond the one we’re surveying
- Flights in strong wind or a downpour
Not sure which survey suits your roof? You can phone 07833 053749 or drop us an email and we’ll tell you before booking. The full list of what we check.
What this survey covers
- Large and complex roofs
- Tall and steep roofs
- Valleys and parapet gutters
- Flat roofs on upper floors
- Chimney stacks
- Fragile roofs
When to book a survey in Eastcote
Many roofs are never seen properly from the ground. Rear slopes, valleys and the tops of chimneys are hidden. Problems in those places often go unseen until they leak.
People typically book a survey after spotting one of these:
- Hidden gutters full of leaves
- Moss building up on slopes and in gutters
- Ridge and hip pieces working loose
- Worn lead at chimneys and walls
Historic houses such as Headstone Manor, about 1.7 miles north-east, show how far back building around Eastcote goes. Older roofs nearby can be steep and hard to see from the ground, and a survey from the air or with a thermal camera does not touch the roof itself.
What to check before booking
- How long they’ve been surveying roofs
- How long the report takes to arrive
- What insurance they carry
- What the survey will not cover
The survey, step by step
It helps to start with what’s prompted the survey: a purchase, a leak, a storm, new work or simply peace of mind. It helps us focus on what matters most to you. Most visits take an hour or two for most homes, with the pre-flight checks included, and longer for big commercial roofs. In a London area like Eastcote, the main things to sort out are parking and access: let us know about permits, visitor bays or off-street space, which floor the property is on and how to get into the loft. We then look at everything that’s safely in view from the ground, windows, the loft and, where it’s safe, the roof itself.
- You give us the address and let us know about the roof.
- Airspace restrictions are checked and permission sought where needed.
- We assess the conditions and the take-off spot first.
- Close-up photos are taken of each slope, chimney, valley and gutter, with the drone always in view.
- You receive a written report with the photos and our recommendations.
Preparing for the visit
- Keep pets inside or away from the areas we’re looking at
- Leave a clear route to the loft
- If the roof is shared, arrange access with whoever manages the building

Advice
Common questions in Eastcote
Can you fly a drone over a roof in Eastcote?
That depends on where the roof is and on the weather. Eastcote is about 3 miles from RAF Northolt, so the Drone Safety Map is checked for restrictions around it before we fly. Across London there are restriction zones around Heathrow, London City and London Heliport, plus restricted areas over Hyde Park, the City of London and the Isle of Dogs. Each address is checked against all of them before the drone goes up. A small drone cannot fly safely in strong wind or a downpour.
Will parking be an issue for a roof survey in Eastcote?
It rarely stops a survey, but it is worth planning. Let us know what parking is available nearby, and the visit is planned around it.
Will I get photos?
Yes. We photograph the roof as we go, and the report uses them to show each finding.
Can you give me structural calculations?
No. Our survey isn’t a structural engineer’s report, and it does not include calculations. We will recommend an engineer if we see signs that call for one.
Are you insured?
Professional indemnity and public liability insurance cover our surveys. Ask if you need details for a managing agent or building owner.
Do you survey roofs on blocks of flats?
Yes, once whoever controls the roof agrees access. On a shared roof we can only inspect the parts we’re allowed to reach.
How much is a survey?
Prices start from £400, including VAT. Our three packages are Basic from £150, Standard from £250 and Premium from £400, inc. VAT.
How the survey changes by roof type
Valleys and parapet gutters
Valleys and parapet gutters are hidden from the street. A drone shows linings, joints and build-ups of debris.
Ridges and hips
Some ridges are fixed with mortar, others with dry-fix systems. Their condition is noted in the report.
