Drone roof surveys for homes and businesses in Littlemore
We fly a sub-250g drone, and we hold a CAA Flyer ID and Operator ID. We keep it in sight throughout, and well below the 120-metre height limit. Every flight is planned around the roof, the site and the people nearby. Airspace and weather are checked before every flight. We never fly where it is not safe. We survey large and complex roofs, fragile roofs and valleys and parapet gutters, and the problems we’re asked to look at most are lifted or split lead flashings and moss building up on slopes and in gutters.
In smaller places like Littlemore, many homes are bungalows and houses with roofs you can partly see from ground level. Chimney tops, valleys and rear slopes are where close-up or thermal images help most. Both depend on the weather on the day, as calm, dry conditions suit both. Close-up images frequently show wear on ridges, verges and flashings that can’t be judged properly from the ground.
The written findings come by email, easy to pass on to a roofer, an agent or an insurer. Turnaround is within 48 hours for Basic, 24–48 hours for Standard and same day for Premium.

Can I check my roof myself?
Watch the gutters in a downpour, from a window or the ground. Overflowing water can be a sign of a blockage or a gutter that has dropped.
Look up at the roof after a storm, from ground level: pieces of tile or slate on the ground, a gap in the ridge or a lifted flashing are all worth noting. Don’t go up yourself.
Landlords, agents and block managers in Littlemore
Buyers’ agents can book surveys on behalf of their clients. Reports are emailed, so they’re easy to pass on.
Where a roof is shared: we need access agreed with whoever owns or manages the building. Mention it when you contact us and we’ll plan the survey around it.
Do you need a drone roof survey in Littlemore?
Not every roof can take a person’s weight. Older slates and tiles break easily, and some sheet roofs are fragile. A drone lets us see them closely without touching them.
Most people get in touch when they’ve noticed one of these:
- Ridge and hip pieces working loose
- Cracked flaunching or loose chimney pots
- Vegetation in valleys and gutters
- Coverings that have slipped high up on the roof
Holywell Manor lies about 2.7 miles north, so building around Littlemore goes back a long way. Photos from the air and thermal images let an old roof be checked without anyone disturbing it.

Common questions in Littlemore
Does a conservation area affect roof work in Littlemore?
The council and Historic England’s list are the places to check. It is worth checking before planning roof work, as both can affect what’s allowed.
Can you fly a drone over a roof in Littlemore?
Typically it comes down to two things: the airspace at the address and the weather. Every flight is checked against the Drone Safety Map first. The flight also waits for calm, dry weather.
Does the weather affect the survey?
It depends on the weather and the survey. Strong wind or heavy rain can make access unsafe and ground a drone, and we’d agree another day.
Does the report include photographs?
Yes. We photograph the roof as we go, and they go into the written report alongside our recommendations.
Do I have to be there for the survey?
It depends on what we need to see. Inside the building and in the loft, we need someone to let us in, while outside access can be discussed when booking.
Will you check the loft?
If there’s a loft and safe access to it, yes. From inside, the underside of the roof often shows damp, staining or daylight that cannot be seen from outside.
When does the report arrive?
Basic reports arrive within 48 hours, Standard reports in 24–48 hours and Premium reports on the same day. All of them come by email, ready to forward.
Prices for drone roof surveys in Littlemore
We confirm the price for your survey before you book. This is what makes a difference:
- Whether you choose the Basic, Standard or Premium Survey
- The height of the building and how the roof can be seen safely
- The type of building, from a house to a block or an office
- How complicated the roof is, with its valleys, chimneys and parapets
Simple, low roofs take less time to survey than tall or complicated ones, and the package matters as well. We will give you the figure before anything is booked.
What we need to know
Before you get in touch, it helps to have:
- Any marks or damp showing indoors
- Anything about access we should know
- Why you want a survey: buying, a leak, a storm or new work
- Photos of the roof, taken safely from the ground or a window
We confirm the price for your roof before you book, so you know the cost up front. Prices start from £400, including VAT. For a price for your roof, ring 07833 053749 or send us an email.

Why get it checked now?
Photographing a roof from the air doesn’t touch it. Nothing is cracked or dislodged by footsteps, so the survey does not create new problems. Around Littlemore, leaves and moss in gutters lead to overflowing water and damp walls. It is easy to sort the cause early and slow to dry a damp wall.
Price depends partly on the package: Basic from £150, Standard from £250 or Premium from £400, all including VAT. Size, height and access can affect the price too.

How the survey works
Once we’ve finished looking, we write up our findings as a written report with photos. On timing, it usually takes about one to two hours at a house, including the airspace and weather checks before take-off. Homes around Littlemore often have gardens on more than one side, which gives us room to step back and see the roof. Mention any side of the property we can’t get to. The loft, where there’s safe access, completes the picture.
- We start by checking the airspace and any restrictions at your address.
- If permission is needed, we ask for it before the visit.
- We assess the wind, the weather and the surroundings before take-off.
- The sub-250g drone takes close-up photographs of the roof, kept in sight throughout.
- You receive a written report with photos and recommendations.
Before the survey
- Leave a clear route to the loft
- Have any questions written down, so nothing gets missed
- Keep pets out of the way during the survey

Drones, thermal imaging and Littlemore roofs
Every flight is checked against the Drone Safety Map first. Older buildings in west Oxfordshire often have Cotswold stone slate roofs, and some Oxfordshire villages still have thatch. Slate and clay tile are the usual coverings on older South East houses, with concrete tiles on many later estates. A drone or thermal camera adds most on the steep, tall and hidden parts of roofs like these.
If you look after a shop, office or commercial unit, for example near Templars Square, a commercial roof can be photographed from above without anyone walking on it. Take a building like Emmanuel Christian School: a view from above covers a wide roof far faster than walking it.
Littlemore is about 2 miles south of Oxford, in Oxfordshire. Whether the building in Littlemore is a house, a flat or a commercial unit, the roof can be surveyed on a weekday or at the weekend. Littlemore is one of the places in Oxfordshire we cover for drone roof surveys.
