Drone roof surveys for homes and businesses in Sheet
Drone roof survey starts from £400, including VAT. The Premium Survey includes a drone inspection where it applies, along with structural analysis, a same-day report and an in-person consultation. There is a 12-month follow-up as well. If a drone will not help on your roof, we will say so. You get a written report with the close-up photos from the flight. If you are worried about lead work pulling away at abutments and moss building up on slopes and in gutters, we can find out what’s behind it.
In a small place like Sheet, open ground can mean strong wind. A small drone can’t fly safely in strong wind or a downpour, and thermal imaging works best with little wind. We plan the journey, access and timing around the weather. A change in the forecast can mean moving the visit to another day.
Report times depend on the survey you book: the Basic Survey within 48 hours, the Standard Survey in 24 to 48 hours and the Premium Survey on the same day.

Leave it or get it looked at?
With drone photos, everyone can see the same thing. They show the location and extent of each defect. Older cottages and farmhouses around Sheet can have roof timbers that have been there a very long time, and water through a failed covering can rot timber if it’s left.
There are three survey packages: the Basic Survey from £150, the Standard Survey from £250 and the Premium Survey from £400, with VAT included. What your roof costs depends on its size, access and what you want to find out.

Roof by roof
Chimney stacks
From the air, a lean or a loose pot is easy to see. We record what we find with photos.
Large commercial roofs
Many commercial roofs have fragile sheets or roof lights. A drone keeps everyone off them.
What affects the price in Sheet
Several things affect the price of a survey:
- How big the roof is
- How complicated the roof is, with its valleys, chimneys and parapets
- How many separate roofs there are, like extensions, dormers and garages
- Height and safe access
Prices start from £400, including VAT. The final price depends on how big and how high the roof is, access and the package you choose.
Helping us price your survey
You do not need to know any roofing terms. It is enough to tell us:
- The kind of building and roof involved
- Dates you’re working to, such as exchange
- Any photos you have, taken from the ground or a window
- Where the property is, with the postcode
Surveys can be booked for weekdays, Saturdays or Sundays. To arrange a day that suits you, phone 07833 053749 or drop us an email.
Tips from our surveys
There is plenty you can do without going near the roof. What helps most:
- Expect us to rearrange if it’s too windy or wet
- Keep dogs indoors during the visit
- Keep a clear space in the garden or drive for take-off
- Book early if you’re near an airport
The Premium Survey includes an in-person consultation to talk through the photographs and findings. It is a chance to ask about anything in the report.
Check the loft now and then, with care and a good torch. The underside often shows problems before the outside does. Take photos of any changes.
The survey, step by step
It’s useful to start with what’s prompted the survey: a purchase, a leak, a storm, new work or simply peace of mind. It helps us focus on what matters most to you. Most visits take an hour or two at a house, including the airspace and weather checks before take-off. For a village or hamlet like Sheet, the journey is planned in advance: tell us about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. On the day, we inspect what can safely be seen, inside and out.
- We start by checking the airspace and any restrictions at your address.
- If permission is needed, we ask for it ahead of the visit.
- On the day, we check the weather and the site before flying.
- The sub-250g drone takes close-up photographs of the roof, kept in sight throughout.
- We email a written report with the photos and our recommendations.
Before we arrive
- Have keys ready for side gates, garages or roof access doors
- If you’re buying, let the agent know when we’re coming
- Check pets are kept safely away
Getting a price
Buyers should book once an offer has been accepted, so you have the findings in time to act on them before you exchange. Otherwise, simply call 07833 053749 or drop us an email whenever suits you.

When to book a survey in Sheet
Steep and tall roofs are hard to inspect safely. Tall townhouses, blocks of flats and offices are typical. We fly from ground level and bring the camera close to the roof.
It’s worth booking a survey if you’ve seen:
- Wind damage high on the roof
- Ridge pieces that have lifted
- Cracked flaunching or loose chimney pots
- Gaps where slates or tiles have gone
For an older house near a landmark such as Church of St Mary Magdalene, steep roofs, tall chimneys and hidden valleys can be hard to see from ground level, and that’s where a view by drone or thermal camera helps.
Before booking any roof surveyor

Your questions about drone roof surveys in Sheet
Is my home in Sheet listed or in a conservation area?
You can check whether a building is listed on Historic England’s list, and your council can tell you if it’s in a conservation area. If a home is listed, changes that affect its special interest need listed building consent, and in a conservation area re-roofing in different materials may need permission.
Do you cover smaller places like Sheet?
Yes. Sheet is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. We work right across London and the South East. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the route as you book.
How long will you be at the property?
Expect it to take between one and two hours for most homes, with the pre-flight checks included, and longer for big commercial roofs. Pre-flight checks of the site and the weather are part of that.
What do I do with the report?
You receive the written report by email, with photographs and recommendations. You can use it to talk to a seller, an insurer, a roofer or a managing agent, whichever applies.
What if it is windy or raining on the day?
Bad weather means no flight. A small drone cannot fly safely in strong wind or heavy rain, so we’d move the date with you, or look from other safe viewpoints if you’d rather.
Which days do you carry out surveys?
We carry out surveys on any day of the week. To find a day that suits you, call 07833 053749 or drop us an email.
What if my home is near an airport?
It depends on the airspace at your address. Inside a flight restriction zone, we need permission first, which can add time. Allow a little extra time if your home is close to an airport.
What a drone roof survey looks like in Sheet
Uppark, about 4.5 miles south, is one of the historic houses in the wider area around Sheet. If your house is among the older ones, expect a mix of original materials and later repairs on the roof, and a listed home or one in a conservation area may need consent for changes of material. Some Hampshire villages still have thatched roofs. Across the South East, older homes tend to have slate or clay tiles, and many later ones concrete tiles. A drone or thermal camera adds most on the steep, tall and hidden parts of roofs like these.
For site and facilities teams at buildings like Sheet Primary School, thermal images can show where wet insulation sits under a big flat roof.
