Drone roof surveys for homes and businesses in North Hyde

Drone roof surveys are available in North Hyde and throughout London and South East England, where the airspace and the weather allow. We fly on weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays. We check the airspace for your address before booking a flight. You get a written report with close-up photos and recommendations. To ask whether a drone survey suits your roof, phone 07833 053749 or email us with the address. We’re often asked to look into blocked valleys and parapet gutters and lifted or split lead flashings, across valleys and parapet gutters, fragile roofs and chimney stacks.

London roofs sit shoulder to shoulder in terraces and blocks, so privacy and neighbours matter as much as the view. Images are taken to show the roof we are surveying, with care for neighbours’ privacy, in North Hyde as anywhere. Let us know about the building and access as you book. The extra view helps most on steep slopes, tall stacks and rear additions.

You can share the report with anyone who needs it: a seller or estate agent, an insurer, a roofer, a builder or a managing agent, whichever applies.

The survey, step by step

We work from the outside in: first the slopes, edges and gutters from every safe viewpoint, then the roof space where it can be reached. All told, expect about 1–2 hours for a house, though large, tall or awkward roofs take more time. In converted houses and mansion blocks, the loft hatch is often on a shared landing. Where that’s the case, access needs agreeing with whoever controls that landing. Everything else is planned around the building, not the postcode.

  1. We start by making sure a drone flight makes sense for the roof.
  2. A visit is booked for a weekday, Saturday or Sunday, weather permitting.
  3. We fly over the roof, keeping the camera on the property we are surveying.
  4. We also look inside the roof space where it is safe.
  5. Everything is written up, with the aerial photos and our advice.

Before the survey

  • Point out any leaks or damp patches
  • Have keys ready for side gates, garages or roof access doors
  • Jot down any questions you want answered

How to book

Advice

When to book a survey in North Hyde

Strong winds can lift slates, tiles and ridge pieces. It’s hard to tell from below what has shifted. A drone shows what has slipped, lifted or gone.

Most people get in touch after spotting something like this:

  • Blistered or cracked flat roof coverings
  • Chimney tops in poor condition
  • Slates or tiles shifted by high winds
  • Blocked valleys and parapet gutters

For businesses in and around places like Treaty Centre, a commercial roof can be photographed from above without anyone walking on it.

Before booking any roof surveyor

  • Which viewpoints they use to see the roof
  • How long they’ve been surveying roofs
  • Their insurance cover
  • If they fly a drone, whether they hold a CAA Flyer ID and Operator ID

Why act early in North Hyde

Small defects on a high roof grow with each storm. Spotting them early keeps the work smaller. A hidden valley or parapet gutter on a London house can hold water for weeks before anyone notices. When the stain finally shows, the damage underneath is frequently older than it looks.

What a survey costs comes down to the roof itself: how big it is, how high it is, the number of separate roofs and how it can be reached and seen safely. Prices start from £400, including VAT.

Questions from North Hyde

Is drone flying allowed in North Hyde?

The answer turns on the exact location and the conditions on the day. North Hyde is about 1 mile from the edge of the flight restriction zone around Heathrow Airport. The exact boundary is checked for each address before any flight, and a roof inside it needs permission before we fly. London’s airspace includes flight restriction zones around Heathrow, London City Airport and London Heliport, and restricted areas over Hyde Park, the City of London and the Isle of Dogs. Every London address is checked against them before a flight. A small drone can’t fly safely in strong wind or heavy rain.

Can parking be tricky for a visit in North Hyde?

Sometimes, yes. If North Hyde has controlled parking where you are, a visitor permit is the easiest answer, and a driveway is even better.

How much does a drone roof survey cost in North Hyde?

Prices start from £400, including VAT. You’ll know the price for the job before booking, and it depends on the roof’s size, access and the package you choose. For a price, ring 07833 053749 or email us.

When does the report arrive?

That depends on the survey you book: Basic within 48 hours, Standard in 24–48 hours and Premium the same day. The report is emailed to you.

What happens next?

You receive the written report by email, with photographs and recommendations. You can use it to talk to a seller, an insurer, a roofer or a managing agent, whichever applies.

Do you test for asbestos?

No. We can flag materials that might contain asbestos, but only a specialist asbestos surveyor can confirm it. It may be present in buildings built or refurbished before 2000.

Can you give me structural calculations?

No. Visible signs like deflection or sagging are recorded, but calculations and an engineer’s opinion are outside what we do. The report will say if you need an engineer.

Useful tips for North Hyde property owners

A few practical points come up again and again on our surveys. They’re worth knowing whatever the roof:

  • Share the postcode so we can check for restrictions
  • Allow time for permission if you are in a flight restriction zone
  • Let us know what you want to see
  • Allow for a change of day in poor weather

The report gives any roofer you ask to quote a clear brief. The photos show the location and extent of every problem, so their quotes cover the same ground.

Every so frequently, look in the loft space with a torch, keeping to boarded areas. The underside often shows problems before the outside does. Take photos of any changes.

What affects the price in North Hyde

What a survey costs depends on the time and equipment it needs. The main factors are:

  • How tall the building is and how easy the roof is to see
  • Which survey package you book
  • Whether it’s a home or a commercial building
  • Extra roofs, like extensions, dormers or garages

Larger roofs, taller buildings and commercial roofs take longer, so the price reflects that. You’ll know the figure before booking.

What to tell us when you get in touch

The more you let us know, the easier it is to price the survey. When you contact us, let us know:

  • Pictures of the roof from a safe spot, if you have them
  • Your timetable, such as an exchange date
  • Where the property is, with the postcode
  • The kind of building and roof involved

We confirm the price for your roof before booking, so you know where you stand. Prices start from £400, including VAT. To book, call 07833 053749 or send us an email.
