Goldsworth Park Gutter Survey

We take a careful look at the gutter at your property in Goldsworth Park, and put it all in a report with photos.

  • Gutters that have fallen out of line
  • Dripping or leaking gutter joints
  • Rotten fascias or stained soffits

Need a gutter survey in Goldsworth Park?

What happens if roof problems are left?

Clearing gutters removes the debris, but it does not tell you why a gutter overflows. Our survey also looks at falls, joints, brackets, outlets and downpipes to show whether something else is wrong. Blocked gutters on homes around Goldsworth Park overflow and soak walls, especially where trees overhang. It is easy to sort the cause early and slow to dry a damp wall.

Gutter survey in Goldsworth Park: what you get

Your gutters take the rain from the roof and lead it away from the walls. If they clog, drip or sag, the water ends up somewhere it shouldn’t and that typically means the walls or the inside of the building. Our survey looks at the whole rainwater system above ground, including gutters, valleys, outlets, hoppers and downpipes. You get a written report with photos. We survey outlets and hoppers, fascias and soffits and valley gutters, and common reasons people get in touch are cracked or loose downpipes and gutters overflowing in heavy rain.

In a smaller place like Goldsworth Park, some roofs stand more exposed to wind and rain than in a built-up town. Ridge tiles, verges, chimney stacks and flashings take the worst of it. A careful look shows whether anything has started to loosen. Once one ridge tile or slate moves, wind gets under the next one too.

Every survey ends with a written report, with photos, sent by email. It explains the condition of the gutter, the defects we found and what we recommend.

DIY checks: what’s safe

After strong wind, take a look from the pavement or garden: broken slates or tiles in the garden, gaps along the ridge or loose lead are signs to note. Don’t go up yourself.

Inside, the loft is a good place to look, with care. Take a torch and only step on boards or joists, and look for staining, damp timber or daylight coming through.

Practical tips

You don’t need to be a roofer to help. What helps most:

  • Look out for overflows when it pours
  • Book gutter clearing once a year, more often near trees
  • Include valley, parapet and box gutters when clearing
  • Keep climbers away from the eaves

The report comes with photos and recommendations, prioritised by urgency where relevant. You can pass it to whoever you choose to do the work so they know what needs doing.

Don’t forget valley, parapet and box gutters. They collect leaves and silt just like eaves gutters but they’re much harder to spot, so ask for them to be included when gutters are cleared.

What we do, step by step

Every visit follows the same pattern: we listen to what’s been worrying you, look at the roof from every safe viewpoint, take photos as we go and record our findings for the written report. It typically takes between one and two hours for a house, rising to roughly 3–4 hours on a commercial building. A visit to Goldsworth Park is planned like any other: the time, the access and where to park are agreed in advance. Weekday and weekend visits are both possible. Let us know about any garages, outbuildings or extensions you want included.

  1. First, you let us know what you’ve seen, such as overflows or damp.
  2. The eaves gutters, downpipes and fascias are looked at from the ground and vantage points.
  3. Any valley, parapet or box gutters are looked at as far as safe access allows.
  4. Where the loft can be reached safely, we check it for staining or damp.
  5. You get a written report with photos and recommendations.

Preparing for the visit

  • Agree roof access with the managing agent if it is shared
  • Have keys ready for side gates, garages or roof access doors
  • Keep pets inside or away from the areas we’re looking at

Surveys for landlords and agents in Goldsworth Park

For a freeholder or residents’ company, a roof report is a sound basis for a maintenance plan.

An agent can book and manage the survey for a landlord, and the report can go to both. Access is agreed with the tenant beforehand.

What we can’t see

In fairness, there are limits to any roof survey:

  • Damage hidden inside walls or behind boards
  • The inside of buried drains
  • Parts of gutters that cannot be seen safely

If in doubt, phone 07833 053749 or use the contact form and we’ll point you to the right survey. What a survey covers and doesn’t.

Gutter surveys around Goldsworth Park

About 4.4 miles north-east lies Botleys Mansion, a reminder of how long the area around Goldsworth Park has been built on. On older houses around here, roofs often carry the marks of earlier repairs, from replaced slates to new lead, and the council can say whether a home is in a conservation area. Older houses across Surrey often have handmade clay tiles, and many have tile-hanging. A few of Surrey’s oldest buildings have heavy Horsham stone slab roofs. Knowing the covering helps explain which parts of a roof are likely to need work first.

If your home is one of the older ones in the streets near Church of St Andrew, corroded nails, tired lead and weathered chimney pointing are the things to watch on older roofs. If you run a business near The Peacocks, knowing the roof’s condition lets you budget for work rather than pay for emergencies. If you live near a park such as Milford Green and Coxhill Green, or anywhere with mature trees, autumn leaves can block gutters and valleys, and blocked gutters overflow and soak walls.

I let a flat near Woking station. Can you check the roof?

Of course. Let us know whether a tenant or an agent will let us in, and the report can go straight to you or your agent.

Will you come out to Goldsworth Park?

Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. We work right across London and the South East. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the route as you book.

How many surveys have you done?

More than 5,000 surveys over 20+ years, across London and South East England.

When does the report arrive?

Basic reports arrive within 48 hours, Standard reports in 24–48 hours and Premium reports on the same day. Each one is emailed, ready to forward.

What do I do with the report?

You’ll get the report by email. With Standard there’s a follow-up consultation; with Premium, an in-person consultation, so you can talk the findings through.

Not unless it’s safe. Most of what we need can be seen from safe viewpoints, the loft and, where applicable, a drone, and the report notes anything we couldn’t see.

What’s in the survey report?

It explains what we saw, what it means and what we’d suggest, with photos throughout. It also says if any part of the roof couldn’t be seen safely.
