Drone roof surveys near East End

Drone roof survey in East End

Drone surveys suit tall houses, blocks of flats, steep roofs and large commercial roofs. They’re useful where walking on the roof could damage it or is not safe. You get close-up views without anyone setting foot on the roof. Before the visit, we check the address for any airspace restrictions that apply. If a drone is not the right tool, we’ll say so. We survey tall and steep roofs, flat roofs on upper floors and valleys and parapet gutters, and common reasons people get in touch are loose ridge and hip tiles and ponding and splits on a high flat roof.

In a village or hamlet like East End, roofs can be steep, old and hard to see from the lane. Close-up drone photos and thermal images help show what can’t be reached safely. Both the forecast and the airspace are checked first. Older roofs with steep slopes and tall chimneys are where the extra view helps most.

We write the report in plain English, so it makes sense without any roofing background. Photos show what each point refers to, and recommendations are put by urgency where it matters.

Common questions in East End

Do you cover smaller places like East End?

Yes. East End is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. Our area covers London and South East England. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when booking.

Can you fly a drone over a roof in East End?

It depends on the exact address and the weather on the day. Before any flight, we check the Drone Safety Map for airspace restrictions. A small drone cannot fly safely in strong wind or heavy rain.

Can you tell me if my roof has asbestos?

No. Asbestos surveys and sampling aren’t something we do. Where a material might contain it, such as old cement sheets on a building from before 2000, the report flags it, with a recommendation to have a specialist asbestos surveyor check before it’s disturbed.

How much does a drone roof survey cost in East End?

Drone roof survey starts from £400, including VAT. The final figure depends on the roof and the package you choose, confirmed before anything is booked.

Can you survey a shared roof?

Yes, once access has been agreed. The roof of a block or converted house is frequently shared, so the building owner or managing agent needs to agree access. We inspect only the parts we’re allowed to reach.

How long is the visit?

Time on site depends on the roof; most visits take roughly 1–2 hours for a house, though large, tall or awkward roofs take more time. The written report follows by email.

Will you walk on the roof?

Only if it’s safe. We inspect what can safely be seen: from the ground, from windows, from inside the roof space, from the roof where it is safe and by drone where applicable. Anything we can’t see is noted in the report.

What affects the price in East End

Prices always include VAT. The things that change the price are:

  • The package you choose: Basic, Standard or Premium
  • Commercial roofs and larger buildings
  • Extensions, dormers and garages with roofs of their own
  • How big the roof is

A small, low roof with good viewpoints takes less time than a tall, complicated one, and the package you pick makes a difference too. We will give you the figure before anything is booked.

What we need to know

To price your survey accurately, we’ll ask about:

  • The address and postcode of the property
  • Where any leaks, stains or damp patches show inside
  • How the loft is reached, if there is one
  • What’s prompted the survey

Most bookings start with a short call: ring 07833 053749 or email us. You will have a price before anything is arranged.

What we cannot see

Before booking, it’s worth knowing what a survey won’t do:

  • The underside of the roof (that needs an inside check)
  • Flying in a flight restriction zone without the airport’s permission
  • A flight on a day when the weather isn’t safe

Not sure which survey suits your roof? You can ring 07833 053749 or send us an email and we will tell you. What a survey covers and does not.

Roof types and parts we check

  • Fragile roofs
  • Chimney stacks
  • Large and complex roofs
  • Valleys and parapet gutters
  • Flat roofs on upper floors
  • Tall and steep roofs

What happens if roof problems are left?

Photos from a drone survey show how the roof looks today. Next time, you can compare and see what has moved or worn. It helps when you plan ahead. Where a roof is exposed, as many are in small places like East End, driving rain gets into any weakness, and damp in older walls is slow to dry out.

Larger roofs, taller buildings and commercial roofs take longer, so the price reflects that. The price is confirmed before you book.

Why us?

  • Photographs and a written report every time
  • Drone and thermal imaging surveys available
  • An independent view of the roof
  • Packages from £150, inc. VAT

Different roofs, different checks

Large commercial roofs

Fragile roof sheets and roof lights can be dangerous to walk on. With a drone, nobody has to go near them.

Flat roofs on tall buildings

Leaks frequently start at outlets, edges and around plant. We photograph them closely.

Airspace, weather and East End roofs

East End lies within about 1 mile of the sea, and wind near the sea can be strong. A small drone cannot fly safely in strong wind or a downpour, so the weather on the day decides whether a flight goes ahead. Before any flight, we check the Drone Safety Map for airspace restrictions, including zones around airports and prisons.

Beaulieu Palace House lies about 3.5 miles north-east, so building around East End goes back a long way. A drone or thermal survey does not involve any work on the roof, which suits older buildings. If your home is one of the older ones in the streets near Church of St Mary, tall stacks and steep slopes are easier to judge with close-up aerial photos than from the pavement. Take a building like South Baddesley Church of England Primary School: big roofs are where photos from the air and thermal images show the most at once.

East End is about 3 miles north-east of Lymington, in Hampshire. East End is part of the area we cover and the surrounding area as part of our work across London and the South East. East End is one of the places in Hampshire we cover for drone roof surveys. Southampton is in our area too.

Checking the roof from ground level

You can learn a lot from the ground. Binoculars help you spot slipped slates or tiles, gaps along the ridge and a leaning stack. Please do not climb up for a closer look.

Keep a simple record: when leaks happen, ground-level photos and any past roof work. Share it with us as you book and it will help the survey.

How it works

We’ll ask a few questions first, about the roof’s history, any leaks and past repairs. Then the inspection itself takes an hour or two at a house, including the airspace and weather checks before take-off. Rural addresses near East End can be hard to find from a postcode alone, so a few directions are welcome. After that, the survey runs as it would anywhere.

  1. We start with the address and what you’d like checked.
  2. Airspace restrictions are checked and permission sought where needed.
  3. On the day, we check the wind, weather and site before flying.
  4. We fly the sub-250g drone close to the roof and photograph each area.
  5. The findings, photos and recommendations reach you by email.

How to prepare

  • Find any records of previous roof work
  • Make a note of anything you’d like us to look at
  • Keep pets in another room
