Heath Park Drone Roof Survey
Close-up drone photographs of roofs that are hard to reach in Heath Park, carried out by an experienced roof surveyor. You get a clear written report with photographs.
- Slipped or missing slates on a high roof
- Hidden gutters full of leaves
- Flashings that have come away
How a drone roof survey works in Heath Park
Tall, steep, large or fragile roofs cannot always be inspected up close. A drone takes close-up photographs of those roofs from the air. It shows coverings, ridges, chimneys, valleys and gutters clearly, including slopes that cannot be seen from the street. Everything we find goes into a written report with photographs. It also suits roofs that would be damaged by someone walking on them. Where a flight is not possible, we explain why. We’re often asked to look into cracked slates and tiles out of sight from below and plant growth and moss on the roof, across flat roofs on upper floors, chimney stacks and large and complex roofs.
London airspace is busy and tightly controlled: there are flight restriction zones around Heathrow, London City and London Heliport, and restricted areas over Hyde Park, the City of London and the Isle of Dogs. Before a drone goes up in Heath Park, the address is checked against all of them, and permission is never taken for granted.
With the Standard Survey, you also get moisture detection, a structural check and a follow-up consultation. The Premium Survey adds thermal imaging, drone inspection where it applies, structural analysis and an in-person consultation.

Heath Park: your questions answered
Is my home in Heath Park listed or in a conservation area?
The council and Historic England’s list are the places to check. It’s worth checking before planning roof work, as both can affect what’s allowed.
Is parking a problem for a survey in Heath Park?
Parking in Heath Park, as in most of London, takes a little planning: a visitor permit or a nearby bay makes the day run more smoothly.
Can you survey a shared roof?
Yes, if the freeholder or managing agent agrees access. On a shared roof we can only inspect the parts we are allowed to reach.
How do I arrange a drone roof survey in Heath Park?
The quickest way is to phone 07833 053749 or drop us an email. Give us the address and some details about the roof, and we’ll take it from there. Surveys run on any day of the week.
What do I do with the report?
We email you the written report with photographs and recommendations. You can use it to talk to a seller, an insurer, a roofer or a managing agent, whichever applies.
How fast do I get the report?
The Premium Survey report comes the same day, the Standard within 24–48 hours and the Basic within 48 hours. Each one is emailed.
What will the report tell me?
You get our findings in writing, part by part, with photos, and ends with what we recommend. Points are put in order of urgency where relevant.
Checking the roof from ground level
You can learn a lot from the ground. With binoculars, look for slipped or missing slates and tiles, gaps along the ridge and leaning chimneys. Never climb onto the roof to look.
Your own check is a good start, but it isn’t a survey. From the ground, valleys, flashings and the backs of chimneys are frequently out of sight, and those are details a survey looks at closely.

What affects the price in Heath Park
All our prices include VAT. What changes the price is:
- How many separate roofs there are, such as extensions, dormers and garages
- The type of building, from a house to a block or an office
- The roof’s overall size
- Basic, Standard or Premium
To find out what your survey will cost, phone 07833 053749 or drop us an email and tell us about the roof. We will confirm the figure before booking.
What we need to know
Before you get in touch, it helps to have:
- What made you get in touch
- Pictures of the roof from a safe spot, if you have them
- Any stains, drips or damp patches you’ve seen indoors
- The address and postcode of the property

How the survey works
Every visit follows the same pattern: we listen to what’s been worrying you, inspect the roof from every safe viewpoint, take photographs as we go and record our findings for the written report. Most visits take roughly 1–2 hours at a house, including the airspace and weather checks before take-off. London terraces rarely offer a view of the whole roof from one spot, so in Heath Park we work round the house, using the street, the windows, the loft and any safe vantage point behind it. If other people live in the building, tell us who can let us into the shared parts.
- We confirm whether a drone suits your roof.
- A visit is booked for a weekday, Saturday or Sunday, weather permitting.
- Aerial photos are taken of your roof only, not the neighbours’.
- Where there is safe access, we check the loft as well.
- You get photos, findings and clear recommendations.
Before the survey
- For flats, make sure roof access has been agreed
- Show us where any leaks or stains appear
- Clear the way to the loft hatch

Advice
Drone roof surveys around Heath Park
Our drone weighs under 250g, and we hold a CAA Flyer ID and Operator ID. Open category rules keep flights below 120 m (400 ft) and the drone within sight at all times. Hare Hall, about 0.8 miles north-east, is one of the historic houses in the wider area around Heath Park. Older roofs in the wider area can hide decades of patch repairs, so the detail matters.
Take a building like Squirrels Heath Infant School: a drone or thermal camera can show a large roof in a single visit. Parking in Heath Park, as in most of London, takes a little planning: let us know about parking bays, permits or a driveway when you book.
Heath Park is about 1 mile east of Romford, in Greater London. In Heath Park, as across Greater London, every roof gets the same careful survey. Heath Park is one of the places in Greater London we cover. There is also a page for London.

The nearest railway station is Gidea Park station, about 0.5 miles north of the centre. Do you need a drone roof survey in Heath Park?
After storms, owners want to know what has moved. Damage on a high or steep roof is hard to judge from the garden. Close-up photos make it clear what has been disturbed.
People usually book a survey when they’ve noticed something like this:
- Lifted or split lead flashings
- Wind damage high on the roof
- Slipped or missing slates on a high roof
- Plant growth and moss on the roof
For an older house near a landmark such as Saint Alban Church of England, steep roofs, tall chimneys and hidden valleys can be hard to see from ground level, and that’s where a view by drone or thermal camera helps.
What to check before booking
- How long the report takes to arrive
- Is there a chance to talk the report through?
- Whether any drone flown is registered with the CAA
- Will the report include photos?
What a drone roof survey doesn’t cover
Every survey has limits, and we’d rather be clear about that before you book. Bear these in mind:
- Whether the roof structure meets design loads
- Roofs and gardens beyond the one we are surveying
- Photos in conditions too poor to fly
If you are not sure which survey you need, ring 07833 053749 or drop us an email and we will give you a straight answer. What a survey covers and doesn’t.
Roof types and parts we check
- Fragile roofs
- Valleys and parapet gutters
- Tall and steep roofs
- Large and complex roofs
- Chimney stacks
- Flat roofs on upper floors
Why get it checked now?
From ground level, you’re guessing about most of a tall roof. Close-up photos show what’s really there, slope by slope. It is far easier to plan work when you can see the problem. In a London terrace or conversion, a roof defect rarely stays your problem alone: failed flashings and blocked valley gutters can send water into more than one home. Dealing with it early is far less disruptive.
Price depends partly on the package: from £150 for Basic, £250 for Standard and £400 for Premium, including VAT. Size, height and access can affect the price too.
