Drone roof surveys for homes and businesses in South Tottenham
We carry out drone roof surveys in South Tottenham and across London and the South East, subject to airspace checks and the weather. We fly on any day of the week. Every address is checked for airspace restrictions first. The report includes the drone photos and our recommendations. To ask whether a drone survey suits your roof, phone 07833 053749 or email us. We survey tall and steep roofs, chimney stacks and flat roofs on upper floors, and common reasons people get in touch are damage after a storm that can’t be seen from below and lead work pulling away at abutments.
London airspace is busy and tightly controlled: there are flight restriction zones around Heathrow, London City and London Heliport, and restricted areas over Hyde Park, the City of London and the Isle of Dogs. Every address in South Tottenham is checked before any drone flight, and where permission is needed, the flight waits for it.
The report is yours to share with whoever needs it: a seller or estate agent, an insurer, a roofer, a builder or a managing agent, whichever applies.

Why get it checked now?
Photos from a drone survey show how the roof looks today. Next time, you can compare and see what has moved or worn. It’s useful for planning maintenance over the years. London’s older roofs frequently have bitumen felt underlay or none at all, so once the slates or flashings let water past, little stops it reaching ceilings. Left unchecked, water soaks into timber and plaster and the damage spreads.
Thermal imaging and drone inspection (where it applies) come with the Premium Survey, from £400 with VAT included. We can help you choose the package that fits what you want to find out.

How the survey works
The visit typically starts outside and finishes in the loft: outside views come first, then the loft space if there’s safe access. All told, expect about 1–2 hours for most homes, with the pre-flight checks included, and longer for big commercial roofs. From the street, a London terrace normally shows only its front slope or parapet, so in South Tottenham we work round the house, using the street, the windows, the loft and any safe vantage point behind it. Shared stairs or a basement flat? Let us know who holds the keys.
- You give us the address so we can check the airspace.
- Where a flight restriction zone or restricted area applies, we seek permission first.
- Before the flight, we check the conditions and the take-off spot.
- We fly the drone close to the roof to photograph it in detail, always in sight.
- Your report arrives by email, with close-up photos and recommendations.
Before we arrive
- Dig out any old roof reports or invoices
- Keep pets out of the way during the survey
- Make a note of anything you’d like us to look at

Signs you need a drone roof survey in South Tottenham
Large roofs take a long time to see on foot. The drone covers the surface area by area. You see the whole roof, not just the parts near an access point.
Here are some of the things we see frequently:
- Blocked valleys and parapet gutters
- Eroded pointing on a chimney stack
- Plant growth and moss on the roof
- Coverings that have slipped high up on the roof
Controlled parking zones are common in London, so mention any permit rules for South Tottenham, along with any off-street space.
Before booking anyone
- How long the report takes to arrive
- Is VAT included in the price?
- Whether any drone flown is registered with the CAA
- What’s outside the scope of the survey
Can I check my roof myself?
Keep a simple record: when leaks happen, ground-level photos and any past roof work. Send it with your enquiry and it will help the survey.
Look up at the roof after a storm, from the ground: pieces of tile or slate on the ground, a gap in the ridge or a lifted flashing are all worth noting. Do not go up yourself.
South Tottenham: your questions answered
Will parking be an issue for a roof survey in South Tottenham?
It depends on the street. Where there are permit zones, a visitor permit or nearby pay-and-display bay works well.
Is my home in South Tottenham listed or in a conservation area?
We can’t confirm that for you, but Historic England’s list and your council can. Both listing and conservation areas can limit changes of roofing material.
Does the report include photographs?
Yes. We photograph the roof as we go, and they go into the written report alongside our recommendations.
Is South Tottenham in your area?
Yes. We survey roofs across London and South East England, South Tottenham included.
Is this an asbestos survey?
No. Asbestos surveys and sampling are not something we do. The report may flag materials that could contain asbestos on buildings built or refurbished before 2000.
Can a drone see inside my loft?
No. It shows what’s on the outside. Leaks, damp timbers and condensation often show first from inside, so we inspect the loft space as well where access is safe.
I live in a flat. Can you survey the roof?
Yes. Shared roofs just need a little more planning. Let us know about it when booking and we’ll explain what’s needed.
Drone roof surveys in South Tottenham: local notes
Before any flight, we check the Drone Safety Map for airspace restrictions, including zones around airports and prisons. The drone we use is under 250g, flown by a CAA-registered operator with a Flyer ID and Operator ID. Flights in the open category stay under 120 m (400 ft), with the drone kept in sight.
Take a building like Earlsmead Primary School: big roofs are where close-up aerial shots and thermal images show the most at once. If you look after a shop, office or commercial unit, for example near The Mall Wood Green, large commercial roofs are frequently easiest to see by drone or thermal camera.

What we cannot see
A survey is a careful look at the roof, but it cannot do everything. The main limits are:
- The underside of the roof (that needs an inside check)
- A structural engineer’s report
- Roofs and gardens beyond the one we are surveying
Not sure which survey suits your roof? You can ring 07833 053749 or send us an email and we’ll tell you. The full list of what we check.

Useful tips for South Tottenham property owners
These tips come from what we see on roofs every week:
- Give us the full address so we can check the airspace
- Allow time for permission if you’re in a flight restriction zone
- Move stored items away from the hatch
- Let us know what you want to see
The report gives any roofer you ask to quote a clear brief. The photos show the location and extent of every problem, so their quotes cover the same ground.
Keep the roof space ventilated. Poor airflow lets condensation build up. Make sure insulation doesn’t block the airflow.
