Drone roof survey in Rise Park

We carry out drone roof surveys in Rise Park and across London and the South East, subject to airspace checks and the weather. We fly seven days a week. Every address is checked for airspace restrictions first. You get a written report with close-up photos and recommendations. To ask whether a drone survey suits your roof, ring 07833 053749 or email us. We survey large and complex roofs, chimney stacks and fragile roofs, and the problems we are asked to look at most are flat roofs on upper floors that hold water and ridge pieces that have lifted.

Flying in London takes more checking than most places: restriction zones surround Heathrow, London City Airport and London Heliport, and Hyde Park, the City of London and the Isle of Dogs have restricted areas of their own. Every address in Rise Park is checked before any drone flight, and permission is never taken for granted.

Every survey ends with a written report, with photos, emailed to you. It explains the condition of the roof, the defects we found and what we recommend.

Airspace, weather and Rise Park roofs

Alongside Victorian and Edwardian terraces, outer London has a great many interwar semis, often with hipped roofs of clay or concrete tiles. Hips, bay roofs and later loft conversions are typical of those semis, if your home is one of them. Steep or complicated roofs are often hard to see from ground level, which is where photos from the air and thermal images help. The drone we use is under 250g, flown by a CAA-registered operator with a Flyer ID and Operator ID. Flights in the open category stay under 120 m (400 ft), with the drone kept in sight.

For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Rise Park Infant School, thermal images can show where wet insulation sits under a big flat roof. For a London address like Rise Park, it helps to know about controlled parking before the day, along with any off-street space. Hare Hall, about 1.3 miles south-east, is one of the historic houses in the wider area around Rise Park. A drone or thermal survey does not involve any work on the roof, which suits older buildings.

Rise Park is about 1 mile north of Romford, in Greater London. We cover Rise Park and the rest of Greater London, as part of our work across London and South East England. Our Greater London coverage includes Rise Park. We also survey roofs in London.

We survey roofs across RM1, RM5 and RM2 for drone roof surveys. If you need a drone roof survey at a property on Brook Road, Havering Road and Heather Avenue or a nearby road, we can survey it. Other places close to Rise Park include Collier Row (1 mile south-west), Romford (1 mile south), Marks Gate (2 miles west), Rush Green (2 miles south) and Chadwell Heath (2 miles south-west). Larger places within reach include London (14 miles south-west), Marylebone (15 miles west), St Pancras (14 miles west), Shoreditch (12 miles south-west), Walthamstow (9 miles west) and Hoxton (12 miles west).

Questions from Rise Park

Is my home in Rise Park listed or in a conservation area?

For listing, use Historic England’s list; for conservation areas, ask the council. The answer matters most when a change of material is on the cards.

Is parking a problem for a survey in Rise Park?

Typically it is manageable with a little notice. Let us know what parking is available nearby, and the visit is planned around it.

How do I book a survey in Rise Park?

Simply ring 07833 053749 or email us with the address. After a few questions, we confirm the price and fix a day.

Can you tell me if my roof has asbestos?

No. We don’t sample or test for asbestos. Where a material might contain it, such as old cement sheets on a building from before 2000, the report flags it.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Strong wind or a downpour stops a flight. Whether we can fly depends on the conditions on the day. If it is unsuitable, we will agree another date or inspect by other means.

Can you give me structural calculations?

No. We note visible signs like sagging or deflection, but we are not structural engineers and don’t carry out calculations. If we think you need an engineer, the report says so.

Are you registered with the CAA?

Yes. Our registration covers a Flyer ID and an Operator ID. The drone we use weighs under 250g, flown within the rules for the open category.

What you can safely check yourself

A lot can be seen from the ground. Binoculars help you spot slipped slates or tiles, gaps along the ridge and a leaning stack. Please do not climb up for a closer look.

If you have a loft with safe access, take a look inside. Use a torch and stay on the joists or boards, checking for stains, damp wood or chinks of daylight.

Leave it or get it looked at?

It is hard to plan maintenance for a roof nobody has looked at. Our report shows the condition of each area. You can tackle the urgent items first. Work on a London roof is rarely simple to arrange, with parking, neighbours and access all to think about. Knowing what’s needed early gives you time to plan it calmly, rather than in a rush after a leak.

A Basic Survey starts from £150, with VAT included. Standard is from £250 and Premium from £400, both inc. VAT. You will know the exact price before booking.

How the survey changes by roof type

Steep slate and tile slopes

Widespread slipping on slate usually means nail fatigue. Close-up photos show how widespread it is.

Large commercial roofs

Cement sheet roofs on buildings from before 2000 may contain asbestos. We flag it in the report and recommend a specialist asbestos surveyor.

The survey, step by step

You don’t need to do much on the day. Show us any stains, drips or problem areas you know about, and we will take it from there. The survey itself takes about 1–2 hours at a house, including the airspace and weather checks before take-off. In a London conversion, the way into the loft space is often from a communal landing or the top flat. Where that is the case, access needs agreeing with whoever controls that landing. Otherwise, the visit in Rise Park runs like any other.

  1. First, we check whether a drone is the right tool.
  2. A date is fixed, with a fallback in case the weather turns.
  3. The roof is photographed from the air, with the camera kept on your property.
  4. If the loft can be reached safely, it is checked too.
  5. Everything is written up, with the aerial photos and our advice.

What we cannot see

Some things can’t be seen without opening up the roof, so a survey has limits:

  • A flight where airspace permission is refused
  • Anything inside the loft or under the coverings
  • Close-up photos of next door’s property

If in doubt, call 07833 053749 or send us an email and we will point you to the right survey. What our survey covers.

What this survey covers

  • Fragile roofs
  • Valleys and parapet gutters
  • Flat roofs on upper floors
  • Large and complex roofs
  • Tall and steep roofs
  • Chimney stacks

Practical tips

Small things make a difference. Some pointers:

  • Make sure the loft can be reached
  • Clear a spot on the drive or lawn
  • Keep pets indoors during the flight
  • Expect a little longer if permission is needed

With the Premium Survey, the report arrives the same day. Drone photos are included where we could fly.

Keep gutters, valleys and outlets clear, particularly in autumn. On high roofs, leave clearing to a professional. Many leaks start with a blocked outlet.
