Our roof survey service in TW6
Three packages cover most roofs: Basic from £150, Standard from £250 and Premium from £400, inc. VAT. The Basic Survey gives a visual inspection, photos and written recommendations. The higher packages add more checks, with moisture detection and a structural check, and on Premium, thermal imaging and a drone where applicable. Each one comes with a written report. We survey lead flashings, the roof space and chimney stacks, and common reasons people get in touch are leaking gutter joints and downpipes and debris building up in roof valleys.
After the inspection, everything we found is written up as a photo-illustrated written report, sent to you by email. As for time on site, most surveys take about one to two hours for an ordinary house roof, and longer if there are extensions, dormers or several chimneys.
- We help you choose a Basic, Standard or Premium Survey.
- On the day, we start by hearing what you’ve noticed.
- Coverings, ridges, hips, valleys, flashings, chimneys and gutters are inspected and photographed.
- Moisture detection, a structural check, thermal imaging or a drone are added where your package includes them.
- You get a written report with photos and clear recommendations.

Landmarks near Heathrow
In Heathrow, that means homes and buildings near The Queen's Arms, Space Studio West London and Bedfont Primary School, among other places. Heathrow has its own railway station: Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3 Rail station. A little further out are Spelthorne Museum (3.5 miles south-west) and Harlington (1.6 miles north). Green spaces nearby include Staines Reservoirs and Crane Meadows.
Roofs, chimneys and gutters across TW6
Homes across TW6 range from older properties with chimneys and lead flashings to newer houses with concrete tiles. Blocked gutters, slipped slates and tired flashings turn up on all of them sooner or later, wherever they are in TW6.
Even in the South East, autumn and winter storms find any loose slate, tile or ridge. In TW6, as elsewhere, exposed details are where damage shows first.
Heathrow: For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Bedfont Primary School, large buildings have long gutter runs and big roofs that need checking like any other. If you own a rental within reach of Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3 Rail station, a roof report helps you deal with small faults before they turn into a call from a tenant.
Honest limits
It’s a careful look at the roof, not the whole story. The main limits are:
- The condition of the rest of the building (that is a RICS home survey)
- An exact number of years the roof has left
- Structural calculations (that’s a structural engineer’s job)
Surveys for landlords and agents in TW6
Letting agents can arrange access with tenants, at a time agreed in advance. We survey on any day of the week, which can make access easier.
We also survey roofs for businesses and commercial landlords, from shops and offices to industrial units. Bigger roofs take more time, and they’re priced for the size.
How we price roof surveys
The price reflects the time and kit the roof needs. The main factors are:
- House, block, shop or office
- Extensions, dormers and garages with roofs of their own
- Whether thermal imaging or a drone is needed
- How big the roof is
Prices start from £150, including VAT. What you pay depends on how big and how high the roof is, how it can be seen safely and which survey you book.
Getting in touch
To price your survey accurately, we will ask about:
- The reason for the survey, such as buying, a leak or storm damage
- Any stains, drips or damp patches you’ve seen indoors
- Your postcode, so we can check access and travel
- How the loft is reached, if there is one
We confirm the price for the job before you book, so you know where you stand. Our price is from £150, including VAT. To book, phone 07833 053749 or drop us an email.
How the survey changes by roof type
Flat roof coverings
Repeated coatings can hide what’s underneath. We say what we can see and when a closer look would need opening up.
Lead flashings and valleys
Many older houses have lead in their valleys and hidden gutters. Worn or split lead lets water straight in, and lead is a target for theft.
Why get it checked now?
A small roof defect usually gets bigger. One slipped slate lets water reach the battens and underlay, and damp timber slowly weakens. Finding it early keeps the work smaller.
What to check before booking
- Whether you can ask questions once you have the report
- Which limits apply to the survey
- Whether the price includes VAT
- How much experience they have with roofs like yours
Questions from TW6
How long does the visit take?
On site, it usually takes roughly 1–2 hours for an ordinary house roof, and longer if there are extensions, dormers or several chimneys. Report times depend on the package.
Can you survey in bad weather?
Light rain does not normally stop a survey, and it can even help show where water is getting in. Strong wind or a downpour can stop drone flights and make roof access unsafe, so we’ll agree a new date if the weather is not suitable.
Do you test for asbestos?
No. Buildings built or refurbished before 2000 may contain asbestos. We flag materials that could contain it, and recommends a specialist asbestos surveyor looks at them.
Is a roof survey the same as a structural survey?
No. If we see signs that need an engineer, like serious sagging, we will say so. We do not provide structural calculations.
Do you inspect the roof from on top?
When the roof and the conditions make it safe, yes. Many roofs can be seen well from windows, vantage points and the loft, and Premium includes a drone where it applies.
Is TW6 in your area?
Yes, we do. TW6 is part of the area we cover, and the service is the same as everywhere else we work.
How much does a roof survey cost in TW6?
Prices start from £150, including VAT. We confirm the price for the job before booking, based on the roof’s size, access and package. For a price, ring 07833 053749 or send us an email.
